Absolutely surreal being on the other side of the table for once! I've been wanting to do this for ya'll for a while now, and I'm so glad we did. Though of course I've been doing well for years, and it's been many many years since I was in a terrible financial situation (I talk about that on Graham and Jack's podcast later this week), it was still great to get a completely open and honest take on my situation. Graham might not be as naturally intense as I am, but I only dish what I can take. That's why we refused to cut anything and allowed the most embarrassing 10-15 minutes of Hinge to stay in lol. In my normal show, my goal is to give people the conversation I wish someone had with me a decade ago. It was great to get Graham's take on my current situation! Thank you for all the Credit Card and Real Estate videos @GrahamStephan and @CalebHammer for the financial wake-up call you are giving many including myself. Keep it up and hope nothing but great things for both.
The most important things I learned from this episode are that no matter how much money you make, you must always monitor and control your purchasing impulses. Move into the Big Money mindset and away from poverty mentality, as well as create a Solid Plan B in case the new money dries up!! THANK YOU ❤️ both!!

Hope this guy gets his 💩 together. In all seriousness, Caleb has helped me put my finances in perspective and on a journey to becoming debt free. While some of the guests may not fully take in all the advice, it helps countless others in similar situations. Also, the Morgan Freeman impression was funny af! 😂
I agree. Very cool of Caleb to do this type of video where he opens himself to financial criticism though. Not many finance youtubers would do this A lot of his financial situations sort of surprised me. Graham said this multiple times, and he's right that Caleb might be getting ahead of himself It just seems like he's adding on too much risk too quickly Edit: Jesus haha Graham absolutely destroyed the Hinge messages. Brutal
Yes! Graham nailed it, and his conservative approach on the franchising really makes sooo much sense. It’s gotta be a “money to burn” almost investment.
From my point of view as someone making way less: when you have less, it's driven into you to take every opportunity because you have little to lose. Now that Caleb is more successful, seems like he needs to temper that opportunistic mindset.
Can we all just give Caleb a round of applause for being vulnerable and transparent in front of thousands of people! We all have things we can work on and be better at. Great cross over video ! 🙌🏽😊

@@allieflounder5764Caleb’s situation compared to many others coming onto his show are very different, even though they might practice the same things. For example, both of them might spend on “BS” spending like fast food, etc. The key difference here isn’t about the differences of income they make, but Caleb understands how to budget (50/30/20) and he isn’t battling himself out of ridiculous debt with ridiculous interest rates. Most on his show will spend on “BS” spending, but they can’t afford their basic living, behind on car payments, piles on credit card debt and losing money daily on interest alone, but they’d rather spend that on $5-20 a day on gas station food instead of going grocery shopping so they can get out of a hole. That’s the key difference here, if you can’t see it… then good luck to you.
Major respect for caleb paying his people 6 figures. I guarantee you there are larger channels out there and they're skimping and penny pinching on their own editors, etc.

The Hinge part was BRUTAL! Loved this entire audit. Thank you, Caleb! This was definitely a tough thing for you to do, but a sincerely brave thing. Us subscribers definitely appreciate it!
I felt so bad watching it because it's not really that bad but to have it front of his entire audience and be roasted by someone he respects, I felt the second hand cringe so hard.
@@TDPEquinoxnah it was THAT bad 😂 love Caleb but seeing him still try to ask out that girl after she politely rejected him was brutal. Hopefully he takes Graham’s advice to heart
Such a fantastic idea auditing a high earner. I made 30k and lived paycheck to paycheck. Then i went to 160k and lifestyle creep annihilated me. Yes Jimmy John's is a rounding error, but the properties absolutely kill. Yes, i have food, i have a reliable car, live in a safe neighborhood. But it's not easy street, it's still work and stress. Moving from a poor mindset to a rich mindset has been a trip. I can't even imagine what a wealty mindset is.
This was a huge risk to take and Caleb's got balls for doing it. Almost 3/4 of a million people look to this man for advice and to put himself on blast to show that he can make shitty decisions on occasion as well can really go either way, and im glad he did it, show's character. Nicely done.
So many RUclipsrs flex their wealth (or really: flex their conspicuous consumption) without ever disclosing actual income/financials. This is refreshing transparency! And wow, Caleb, the Hinge audit is a step further. Really putting yourself out there with this one. Lastly, thank you for appropriately compensating the team behind the scenes that is helping you make this channel. We shouldn't have to thank people for doing the right thing by their employees, but so many business owners don't.
Yes!! There is so much I wanted to comment on the video, and proper compensation for Caleb’s behind the scenes crew was one of the things I left out! Admirable.
Graham knocked that out of the park!! The questioning his motives, giving extremely sincere advice about getting distracted from Caleb’s true giftings/talent, AND the relationship advice was SOLID. Graham cares about you Caleb, that is a solid friend in your corner
Graham sounds like what a good friend should be like. Be honest, direct, empathetic, but also not hold back any punches. When you try to help someone, it’s important to point out mistakes in order for them to improve.
No he doesn't. The video literally started out with how he took out an impulsive loan on a 900k home. And let's not get in to how the dude peddled shady sponsors that are antithetical to his channel and what he says. Love Caleb but let's be honest here: He needs to be on the show (and should also be certified to be giving what is absolutely 100% financial advice).
Well yes, bit everyone's human. As the op commenter said. Caleb's whole thing is telling people what he wishes someone told him. Also, it seems from this video, he's dealing with wealth for the first time. This is everyone's first time at life, bro. Let's be understanding@@Smoke.Official

I love this channel, I’ve been watching quite a bit over the last week. It’s really great to see someone taking control of their financial life which as we all know bleeds into other aspects of life, and helping others to do the same 😊 there’s something very meaningful about refusing to stick your head in the sand any longer and starting where you are, and for people to hold each other accountable.
I know, right! You could tell that he really wants to do it regardless of it being a poor investment at this time, but I was really impressed with Graham's sincere advice and you could tell it was a good reality check to Caleb.
What about No Risk, No Reward? Dude just assumes the place is going to struggle and fail! What if it's a success, and expands into the next Shake Shack?
@@StreetPreacherr its about managed risk, graham has always preached managed risk, hence the "you dont have the finance to do it NOW/YET" and a "Maybe in a few years" as he has a point, it could bankrupt him even though he already should be set for life if he keeps making safe investments, keeps the channel growing or atleast where it is and keeps his creativity up for a few more years. its like graham said, its risking his entire current sucess, for potential sucess. or failure, but statistically not super likely sucess. say its not the same as every startup at the about 1-5/100 say its closer to 20/100 because of the other one being sucessfull. thats still overall a high risk, medium reward situation. as if the brand becomes the next McDonalds. that reward still goes mostly to the owner. caleb would ofcourse make good money on his sucessfull shop. but the overall reward still goes to the brand owner behind it all. especailly with buddha burger now, 8 months later still only having the one shop, 1.5k followers. about 15-25 likes on average. they have 5 reviews, although posetive they're all old ish. their website is currently down. their google reviews are good though, a 4.7, it just doesnt seem to be the next big thing, and i do think caleb was thinking about it a bit too emotionally and not fully thinking it through
YOU’RE THE PICKER! You’re intelligent, honest, have great values and genuinely care about people. You’re definitely a keeper, it’s just going to take a bit of time for someone to get to know you. Give yourself some credit. You’re the prize! Thanks for being so candid and for helping so many people!
I was thinking that too ! He’s definitely a keeper ! He seems like a very caring person . He’s the same age as my little sister ! I would love for them to meet . (She’s a lawyer so definitely not a gold digger )
Caleb, as a 54 year old guy who is nowhere near where you are in life, and I salute you for what you've achieved - you REALLY need to listen to this guy interviewing you, because he's got something you haven't - he's taken the emotional content out of the money and is totally pragmatic. He really has his head screwed on and is giving you some rock solid advice.
Would be way more humble if he were actually struggling like the people he brings on. I get this is for fun, but really it's just a rich guy flaunting his money to an even more rich guy.
@@Stemanaryeah it's kinda insane hearing Caleb talk 6, figures a month on a 700k channel like wtf dudes balling out now..not a single person can relate to that.
@@jacksonbilly9979 You are sadly mistaken. I'm a subscriber to his channel and appreciate it. I like hearing him try and help people out. Again, I'm happy he put in the work and has found a form of entertainment that has made his successful. I'm curious how successful his channel would be if he brought on people with his kind of money. The reason why this content is entertaining to watch is because the normal American can relate to what these people are actually going through
Probably my favourite episode of this show. Never been a *huge* fan of Graham but he shines in this episode, and really comes across as more than a finance RUclipsr (around the 40-45 minute mark is really good stuff). Also huge prop's to Caleb for talking about his challenges with anxiety, eating habits, and dating. Say what you want, but those aren't easy things to share with millions of people. Great episode overall. Congrats on your success, Caleb!
As a CPA, I really love watching two smart money guys opine and debate the wisdom of various purchases and financial goals. You two are a good pair, and I hope you’ll collaborate again in the future.
Actually I have to say that was nice that Graham was really in a position of a big brother. Caleb is doing financially well, but so new and Graham's own story was so refreshing to explain to Caleb.
This was so great. I was smiling the whole time. Graham was the perfect choice to Audit Caleb. You can tell how much love and respect Caleb has for Graham, and Graham is deadly with his very calm friendly nature delivering a brutal grilling. 'I like the house, but I don't like the price' is peak 'I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed ' energy. Looking forward to the follow up next year!
I just adore Graham after many years of watching his vids he has always been transparent and pretty spot on. Graham do more of these!! Caleb I just found your channel and I think this was a great idea to have Graham audit you. Good for you being transparent. Did they say how much he made from RUclips?
This was my favorite episode ever. It made me feel hugely better that even Caleb justified certain spending, and the transparency with income is absolutely refreshing. Graham had such good points and this was such respectful conversation
Really good interview. Kudos to you Caleb for being humble enough to sit in the hot seat and take advice from someone you acknowledge as a financial leader above yourself.
So much respect for this episode. This builds your brand. He talked about how copycats will come up. New fresh ideas are great, but fundamentally people are here for you(mostly). Well done.
Wow, big props to you for being such a good sport Caleb. I laughed and smiled throughout, I love the sincerity, transparency and honesty throughout the video. It's not easy having Graham in front of you, criticizing every aspect of your life and person for 90 minutes. But it's all so well-intentioned that it still feels very friendly, not hostile at all. Very cool to watch.
I am addicted to this channel man lmaoo God Bless ya Gabe, keep up the great work! I love how one to one comfortable you get with people, all BS out of the way. Everything straight up. What the world needs
As a single woman, I 100% agree with everything he said about Caleb's dating profile. Get a photographer friend or just a friend who is killing it at the Instagram game and ask them to take a good photo of you. Lighting and angles can change everything if you know how to work them. Then make that photo your FIRST one on the profile. Also consider what you are looking for when you are dating. Are you looking for a wife, a lifelong partner? Then maybe show off the husband material that you are, not the silly pics playing around with friends like kids.
@@genxx2724 everybody regardless of gender should know those things. I was referring to being more serious about your relationship goals and showing that with serious grown up pics of oneself.
I don't agree with this. This really depends on the person. You learn the things that someone can offer you by talking and getting to know that person. I, personally, like seeing the silly pictures as it shows more personality and not just the professional side of a person, as that can come off as intimating to some people. But that's just my opinion.
The most impactful change would probably be working out. Girls will virtue signal and say personality matters more than looks but that's BS. Personality is only relevant if you have the good looks to get their attention in the first place.
This was actually amazing. Seeing the dichotomy between someone who's had massive income for years and someone who attained it recently was fascinating. Caleb definitely still has the growth mindset you would expect from someone on the rise. And seeing Graham come in and try to explain hey, this RUclips thing is really your cash cow, you dont need to be in "make a move" mode anymore. Its interesting how the same mindset that got you to a million dollars can also bankrupt you if you dont continue to evolve.
Graham is such a wise financial guy and I love how he really cares and wants to guide and mentor you through your financial journey Caleb. This is awesome.
You have earned my trust. In medicine we are taught to not self diagnose or treat ourselves and the importance of haveing another physician to look at our own health concerns objectivly. When you are already educated it's sometimes hard to give someone else the reins and trust them completely. Allowing someone else to deep dive your finances publically takes a lot of humility and guts, and I respect you even more for it. Well done Caleb!
Honestly I think his expertise in real estate was phenomenal for Caleb's situation. I think he was the best person to be the auditor. I'm surprised he wasn't more harsh to be honest.
Big props to Caleb. This took integrity, I got a lot of respect for him from this video watching him interact with someone telling him straight up how some of his ideas are impulsive and too risky
This took a lot of humility and bravery to put yourself out there like this. I'm excited to see how future episodes are now that Caleb has been in the hot seat. This is a huge empathy growth moment.
As someone who’s struggled with panic disorder in their mid-late twenties, everything Caleb was saying about his anxiety I FELT. Doing much better now than I was a couple years ago (it’s uncomfortable, but I can fly in airplanes again) hoping Caleb works through those challenges and gets there as well!
Yeah I’m at the point where I have no debt besides some student loans and an emergency fund. I know Caleb doesn’t do investment advice but I’m kind of at a “what now?” point in my life
@@cheeseandsprinkles77pay off those student loans is my vote! 😅 don’t give sallie mae more than needed - at any rate. Then save up for maybe a home/investment property if interested. If you ever plan on having kids I highly suggest saving now to be able to take time off work if you want. Or if you plan on getting married save up for a future wedding now. It sounds silly but you’ll never regret planning ahead. Or travel!
100% agree with this. Honestly I think most of the people that watch are financially literate and aren’t near the kinds of situations the guests are in. I’d really love to see him take someone though what they do after debt. I’m at 0 debt, building a cash-house, but after that no clue what to do with the cash. My only thought was keep building & selling but I feel like that’s too much risk and not sustainable in the long term.
Caleb, be confident!! You’re a catch and you need to realize that. Never get cocky, but be confident. Believe in what you’re “selling”. If the person doesn’t want it, that’s okay. You’re looking for the one. Not everyone.
initially I thought this is going to be a normal financial audit with some advice on how one improve their situation. never would I expect to hear a great dating advice from Graham on a financial audit show bravo to both of you, really enjoyed the content, it's not easy to open up in a public space 👏
I’m only halfway through so far and this feels like jumping into the advanced course version of what we regularly see in the channel 😄 I’m loving the honest and supportive conversation going on here, and Caleb’s willingness to show us with specific examples how he’s just a human like all of us (with ambitions and impulses and progress to be made)
Who would’ve thought that Graham could give so many solid life, psychology, and dating tips apart from personal finance? Deep down, I always knew the psychological maturity of a person is the main reason for their success. I guess this proves it even more.
Graham did an amazing job. If I had to sum up the advice on this episode, it would be to stop overcomplicating things. Simplify what you can to free up mental energy for what’s important: creativity, health, relationships.
Caleb is actually doing some thing that a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with and that is listening to the idea fairy. He really likes all these different ideas that he focuses on all of them equally versus going all in on the one that works the best which is his RUclips show. Great insight and glad that Graham hammered it in
As a financial RUclipsr and asking your guests to be vulnerable and put their financial lives out there for all to see and then you turn around and do the same thing is just *chef’s kiss*. Thank you for being humble and honest. I respect the hell out of you for putting yourself out there like that. I can tell you’re a good dude. 😊 Also the dating part, omg, made me laugh because dating is so hard, but it just made you just more adorable and endearing in my eyes! Best of luck, I hope for your continued success. ❤ Also shoutout to Graham for being a great auditor! It was great to see the crossover. 😊
Things that drive Caleb crazy: -Yes, it was expensive... But I got a great deal! -Financing random things. -Unclear response to direct questions. Caleb: -The house was listed at 1.4M, I got a deal. -Financed his furniture. -My monthly income is complicated and changes....
This was such a crazy moment at 30:45 , and I think it’s really important for all of us who are still improving our financial lives to remember stuff like this. Even Caleb, being the financial wizard he is, is vulnerable to wishful thinking and fantasizing. Few things in life suck worse then getting all excited about a purchase and convincing yourself that it makes sense, only to have reality smack you in the face. It’s a bummer, but it’s also why we work so hard and stay disciplined. I wish Caleb and all the rest of us all of the success in the world
What a roller coaster of an audit. The Ashley furniture loan, arbitrage on the student loans and franchise dream were so interesting to watch. Mad respect to Caleb for having the guts to put this out. Graham was an excellent choice to do the audit. Great job guys!
It was super interesting and funny to watch! It's like he knows obviously quite a thing aboit finances but he is now being given a reality check about how to handle money as a newly rhich person which is just a whole new ballgame and on that level he looked kinda surprisingly naive but very receptive to critique so great audit!
I found my fiance on a dating app. He was super socially awkward but with time he came around. I wholeheartedly agree with Stephan's advice. Don't act desperate or you'll just be another option, not THE ONE. Make them grateful to have YOU.
Or rather, if you're desperate, the other person would just feel like you're a burden, and they wouldn't feel good about that. Whereas you'd be impressive if you're awkward and you completely own it.
Damn the hinge part was pretty hard but insightful. That could be a whole series itself, online dating audit/ how to improve communication and your chances. Props to you Caleb!

Once you find success in a business, it's very easy to believe that you can find success in a bunch of other businesses as well. Success in one industry doesn't necessarily translate into success in other industries.
I completely agree with you honestly. A lot of successful people will tell you they were in the right place at the right time and got lucky. Obviously not 100% luck, but a lot of the time, it helps.
Everyone needs a Graham in their life providing direct and credible financial advice, and a fresh perspective on things with real-life examples. I think he's a great person to be one of Caleb's mentors.
Bro fr, some of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. He reeked of desperation in all of those chats, I hope he takes Graham's advice and starts being the picker instead of begging women to pick him lol Good luck Caleb
Caleb. I’m a commercial real estate appraiser. The way you chose which house to buy by looking at the neighborhood trends and where it is in the life cycle was EXTREMELY wise. I am not in your market but what you described happens in so many markets. Always buy a not so great house in an up and coming neighborhood. You called the decision “impulsive “ but usually that’s an emotional decision. I would call your decision “intuitive.” Good luck. I have a feeling you will be proved right in a few years. Btw I made a similar move in 2017. Updated my house since then and now its worth has doubled. Thanks for the great content.
I 100% agree with how you should focus on the channel. Here’s what I would watch in addition to financial audit: 1. More follow-ups! 2. Live Q&A 3. Take questions or suggestions from comments and make a video answering them or commenting on them 4. Blooper reels? 5. Get certified on investment advice and tell us more about investment, especially retirement 6. As an elementary teacher, it would be awesome if you had short 5 min mini lessons on finances for kids so I can use your videos as topics in class for lessons. Kinda like crash course kids but with finances I think grocery shopping with people would be entertaining, but might not help as many people as everyone’s budget is different and prices vary across the country
This is pure gold! There’s no one better to do your audit than Graham! I appreciate Caleb being so transparent and vulnerable through this audit. Graham is so knowledgeable! Such a great duo these two!!
I'm legit loving the fact that you're running through some of the same thought processes as the people you provide help to. This is almost a comedic sketch. Thanks for showing yourself!
THIS IS FREE CONTENT?? Caleb, this channel is a gold mine of knowledge and having Graham on the show was the best investment you made for the channel and yourself. I actually forgot just how knowledgeable Graham actually is. Here's something I learned that could even help me financially, invest in fixing your anxiety because that is your biggest liability. Anxiety will keep you from opportunities and will make decisions for you.
Emotions and personal finance are so intertwined it's crazy. Anxiety towards personal finances is an aspect of someones "Money Scripts", which is a psychological term coined by a researcher who studies people's emotions towards money. Sharing because I read about it and it helped me a lot 😊
Why is Caleb like a nerdy little brother? So full of good financial advice but so socially awkward lol Love the Hinge conversation! Thanks for being so open!

I love caleb and watching his videos but Graham really shows how in depth and knowledgeable you can be with person finance. It’s easy to say “pay off debt, make a budget”, but this is truly next level consultation from a true professional
i think if caleb got a person who is not in such bad situations as he does, he'd have more to say and consult as well. Those people really just need to pay their crippling debts and make budgets, most of them don't have any room for investing.
This was the longest episode that Caleb has done, but it was the best episode in the whole channel. Rivaled Taquitos. Graham gave such good advice not only to Caleb, but to everyone considering going into doing franchises or owning rental properties. I really liked the advice of doubling down on the channel and continuing to make money that way. Bravo!

The total hypocrisy of live as I say. Caleb lost me here
@@allieflounder5764Caleb’s situation compared to many others coming onto his show are very different, even though they might practice the same things.

I thought the same thing.

So many RUclipsrs flex their wealth (or really: flex their conspicuous consumption) without ever disclosing actual income/financials. This is refreshing transparency!

Yeah. Men who are looking for a wife should show that they know basic plumbing and home repairs, and can change a tire.
Completely agree.

This was such a crazy moment at 30:45 , and I think it’s really important for all of us who are still improving our financial lives to remember stuff like this. Even Caleb, being the financial wizard he is, is vulnerable to wishful thinking and fantasizing. @@CashClarity Thank you for the comment! I had no idea about Money Scripts so I'll make sure research becuase it sounds fascinating.
@@prettynpetty8342 for sure! I made some videos about money scripts because they were so helpful to me. The term was coined by dr brad klontz.
Why is Caleb like a nerdy little brother? So full of good financial advice but so socially awkward lol
Love the Hinge conversation! Thanks for being so open!
😂
The Hinge element could be a whole new type of video content.
he is not socially awkward he is just genuine and nice
I really like the idea of the “high income earner” kind of audit. I’d like to see more of these.
Someone more responsible
I agree! Bring in more people that are maybe not in disaster situations but can use some cleaning up. Own some real estate, higher income, etc.
Closest I've found is the I Will Teach You To Be Rich podcast with Ramit Sethi. He has a large selection of high income earners/couples and they're 1 hour+ episodes
@@LOLZHAHANOTFUNNYI was just coming to say this!
@@hushpuppy698 Suze Orman was good
I'm kind of new here and have had a bunch of these vids in the background whilst working. I really enjoyed how much was going on in this episode, from financial advice, property talk, business advice, dating advice... it was all happening!
I never comment on these but omg I appreciate how vulnerable and relatable this episode was especially the stressers of the dating world. Good luck Bro!
That Hinge profile review was EVERYTHING! Love this episode so much, great perspective from both sides and thank you Caleb for such vulnerability!
Holy cow, that Hinge audit must’ve taken some serious guts! Big props to you for doing this episode!
You need to not only help people get out of debt but if you can turn someone from debt into a millionaire..... your channel will explode mate!!
I love caleb and watching his videos but Graham really shows how in depth and knowledgeable you can be with person finance. It’s easy to say “pay off debt, make a budget”, but this is truly next level consultation from a true professional
Seriously, a totally different league!
i think if caleb got a person who is not in such bad situations as he does, he'd have more to say and consult as well.
Bravo!
Not the longest
This gives me the vibes of being a student and wondering "how well would the teacher do if THEY took the test?!" Love this and happy to see the other side.
OMG I love it. 🥰 I can’t believe you did this with Stephen Graham. I love ❤️ you guys.
