Lol i'm french and I know than this music is in English.. By the way, this song (and myosotis and marigold) are so so sooooo beautifull +-+ Magnolia is very sad, this music touches me a lot, she is very thorough (sorry for my bad English)
I too am confused, what is the symbolism of this song, specifically Magnolias? A quick Google search shows magnolias symbolize beauty, purity, love, joy, perseverance, endurance, and (according to Victorian floriography) embody dignity and pride. The tree was also known for its healing powers, because in Chinese traditional medicine the bark was used as a sleep aid. I guess all of those could more or less apply to the story of Deemo and the near-death experience the little girl goes through with her dead brother, but I was hoping for something more concrete. You say it symbolizes Life? Where did you hear that? In any case, it's a very pretty song and thanks for uploading lyrics!
Yw! I love this comment. I'm also more familiar with the Victorian symbolism for the magnolia flower, I meant the song symbolizes life while its pair, the song Myosotis, symbolizes death. Unsure whether it's true or where I read it but I guess it refers to how both songs are about grief in the context of the game with Myosotis being darker and more accepting than Magnolia.
@@FishOniDeviantArt Thanks! Hmm, I see, interesting. I didn't realize this song and Myosotis were connected, or that one symbolized life and the other death, but it does sound plausible and very interesting! Myosotis, isn't that a spider lily or something? I do recall reading once that in Chinese lore or whatever spider lilies represent death/the underworld.
@@RainbowEssence-c3w Yeah, spider lilies would be a better fit for death since they're historically associated with cemeteries. I can't know what the devs wanted to say with the songs but Magnolia and Myosotis are undoubtedly connected, you see that they're the same drawing with Magnolia being the upper part ^^ Oh, and if I understand you correctly, forget-me-nots have nothing to do with lillies!
@@FishOniDeviantArt ah I got confused, I thought Myosotis was the scientific name for spider lilies, you're right lol a quick Google search shows they're more commonly called forget-me-nots. Spider lilies would have been interesting too though, too bad they didn't use them. Apparently they're associated with samsara, the Buddhist cycle of life and death?
I never understood the vocals but now that I do it is so heartfelt
Agreed
Literally didn’t know this song was in English XD I CAN NEVER UNHEAR IT

It is a nice touching song. Sung with lots of emotions.

I love this song for being this song, but it's so hard in DEEMO, my poor fingers will die the day I attempt a full AC playthrough 😔
Awesome!
