    This time around we focus on the Somerset and Dorset Railway mainly in and around Highbridge.

    GUIDE TO PHOTOGRAPHS
    1. Bason Bridge (1967)
    2. Bason Bridge dairy (1967)
    3. Wells. GWR goods shed Cheddar branch (1966 as are the remainder of the photos)
    4. Burham. 3rd Burnham on Sea Scout Group.
    5. Burnham goods shed
    6. Highbridge. S & D terminus building
    7. Highbridge station.
    8. Highbridge junction.
    9. Highbridge goods sheds.
    10. Highbridge level rail crossing. S&D crosses the GWR
    11. Highbridge locomotive works. Now under M5 and Industrial estate.
    12. Highbridge from footbridge looking towards locomotive works.

    What ever happened to the large memorial tablet at the front edge of the main station building commemorating the local fallen heroes from two worlds wars?
    I assume they must have been re-located elsewhere.
    I seem to remember Sir John Betjemin doffing his cap in Branch line railway....his S&DJR tribute.
