They’re more like business partners and J only works with her out of fear and since cyn is wearing the corpse of Tessa, j might want to believe there’s still a small portion of her friend inside that monster. J also says there’s no escape from cyn and forces her to work with cyn. Besides, in the manor in episode 5, J would often lock cyn in the basement and also expresssed disdain the moment she saw her.
