i remember when this song came out , it was one of the most rocking songs there was . it was way far better than anything on the radio , if i remember right they won no awards i really was not happy about that ,,,,,,,,, but i can hear it here whenever i want , since then award shows have been no big deal to me , God Bless Carlene .
This was Carlene at her peak and I remember this was an Austin City Limits show. Oh how I wish this was available in pristine quality as this show was a real gem. Carlene with the guidance of Al Anderson really hit a sweet spot. Billy Burnette on Telecaster would make Keith Richards stand up and salute!
I remember seeing the music video for this song for the first time and being totally enchanted. Just how she sings "I aughta keep you LOCKED UP at home!" gets me every time.
The great Al Anderson wrote it! God bless that Connecticut Hillbilly! Hung with him many times at The Shaboo Inn in Mansfield, CT when he was with NRBQ...
@@kekwayblaze3176 it's a fact! In my world also, woman have distorted distopia about who they are any more, and what there own personal excistance means.
I saw Carlene with Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan. Awesome show. Al Anderson was with her also. As some have mentioned he was originally with NRBQ and they co-wrote this song. Totally rocks. Anderson also wrote songs for Patty Loveless, the title song for the Strong Heart album being one. He also wrote Next Big Thing recorded by Vince Gill as well as songs for other artists.
I got in love of this song from the pin ball game. And little did i know that she is the stephdaughter of Johnny Cash! And ofc daughter of June Carter Cash who wrote the Ring of fire.
My mind is boggled into utmost smithereens that there are NOT zillions of likes for this stunning performance.
mark carey It’s musical dog shit that’s why.
well it happens to be one of my favorites
@@inkblack6256 What an odd comment. Is it because the technique is lacking, the execution, or the inspiration?
Let me add mine.
@@keythdanielsen8316 Hahaha, good for you.
Carlene Carter! Absolutely lovely, talented and criminally underrated
Those first 7 seconds like a bolt of lightening courtesy of Fender and Gibson! A stunning song pure high octane energy!
I'm pretty keen on that first 3 minutes & 12 seconds!
@@taxdebtrelief3446 a Stormer from start to finish, it's one of those songs that gets you pulled over for speeding!
Good

I know there has to be a higher quality version.
She was stunning back then great voice
Oh hell yes.
Great performance! The woman is wonderful. The band is rockin.
"Big Al" Anderson (formerly of NRBQ) on guitar......my next-door neighbor for many years! He was the co-writer of this song with Carlene.
I remember seeing the music video for this song for the first time and being totally enchanted. Just how she sings "I aughta keep you LOCKED UP at home!" gets me every time.
Loved her multiple versions of herself performing side by side.
At the time in the video I thought it was the real band in the video. Took me awhile to figure out it was Carlene lmao
I also like the part where she sings "I love ya so much I hatecha". 😁
Perfect Carlene as always💘

Bästa Country musiken någonsin !
Back in a much happier time when country songs by a woman were not all about man-bashing. Great song.
Don't be so easily triggered.
