Actually, the structure was table at speeds in excess of Mach 3. However, the Tumanski turbojets were not intended to run constantly at the power settings necessary to sustain those speeds; therefore, they would eventually self destruct. The plane's structural stress tolerance was limited to 2.2G.
i like the mig 25 foxbat because this is a pretty fast aircraft and the way it looks and also one more thing is 0:06 that the pilots with their helmet look like if they are astronauts
There are different ways to reach the same goal, but keep in the mind that the SR-71 was slightly faster and was intended to have a reduced radar cross section. A-1 through A-11 (configurations preceding the A-12 which became the SR-71) all looked different, some even looked like the F-104. It was the stealth requirement that made the SR-71 look like it did.
It's one of the best Soviet's aircraft ever design as an interceptor since it still maintain some world's record of highest attitudes above 125,000 feet, and it has speed little over Mach 3.
Its definitely an awesome plane. However it was very limted by range and even tho they could hit incredible speeds, it was dangerous as the plane would disintegrate from the stress.
During the Gulf war, Iraqi MiG-25 in the air fight destroyed the F-18 and managed to snatch a few air raids by American aircraft at that time to go at great speed from interceptors F-15.
Food for thought: " [...] two MiG-25s approached a pair of F-15s, fired missiles at long range (which were evaded by the F-15s), and then outran the American fighters. Two more F-15s joined the pursuit, and a total of 10 air-to-air missiles were fired at the MiG-25s, although none reached them" A top speed of Mach 3.2 is indeed impressive.
kuribayashi84 If you did Mach 3.2 in a Foxbat, The engines would be severely damaged, despite the airframe being able to handle that speed. Mikoyan recommended a top speed of Mach 2.83, which is still much faster than a F-15 Eagle.
+LtAce150 January 17 1991, 2 USN FA-18s approached 2 IRAF MiG 25's, One FA-18 was shot down by a BVR R-40, I'm presuming the other one bugged out, as neither Foxbat was splashed.
The Mig 25 never went from mach 2.8, because doing so damages the engines to reach mach 3 for a short time. That was proven in the tests on the Tumansky engines made in 1976 with the mig 25 in which the pilot Russian Belenko defected to Japan. The Japoneces were surprised to discover that the Mig 25 technology was quite poor for the time, its technology was contemporary to the first Phantom, its avionics are based on vacuum valves, and not on modern transistors, or on modern processors and chips such as it was already being used for those years. Although the radar had a lot of output power (600 Kw)
The MiG 25 is actually quite sophisticated but not a lot of people know about it because no body actually went and did some research. Despite of the vacuum tube electronics the 25 can, by itself, do air to ground missions, fly a programed course for reconnaisannce, do an interception with the help of ground eqquipment and go to the airfield and follow a glide slope and landstrip centerline to about 50m alltitude. And by itself i mean WITHOUT PILOT INPUT. The pilot needs to takeoff, land and fire missiles and bombs. I dont think the f4 can do these things. The are stories of the plane going over 3.3M and without problems. The engines did not self destruct as people think, they just have low life in such harsh conditions which is quite normal for the metallurgy and knowhow of the day.
I don't think so, I have seen the MiG-25 episode, and it only has a clip of this video. I think this might be from a soviet era film, just can't find which one.
Actually, the MiG 25 Foxbat is Blitzwing, on page 75, according to the book by Mark Bellomo called "The Ultimate Guide To Vintage Transformers", but, yet, Michael Bay gets it wrong again in the Transformers movie "Bumblebee", and claiming that he is a "Transformer fan". LOL :)
This plane scared the shit out of Johnny Westener when first reported. Some early MiG-25's were based in Cairo, Egypt and patrolled the Mediterranean with impunity... the West had nothing that could keep pace with it....
The mig 25 was originaly certified to mac 3. however structural integrity was heavily compremised at those speeds so the pilots were ordered not to exceed mac.2.5.There are no special secrets to this very high speed for a fighter except very big powerful turbo jets. Still not a plane you want on your tail during the cold war, With it's very capable missiles and super powerful radar.
The MiG 25 has quite a bit of titanium in it s contruction too. But I understand your point. If the MiG25 can look like a normal plane & govern those speeds, why couldn't the SR71 look like a normal plane too?
It was only overated by the west, who didn't know what it was. The USSR knew it was a short range interceptor at heart, nothing else. The pilots loved to fly it, it was a privilege, perfect of interception & recon. the west thought it was a super fighter, with high manoeuvering skills. Until the infamous defection of a MiG 25 pilot to Japan, the west was over estimating its capabilities.
its strange. the blackbird needed to be like no aircraft ever before it with 9/10 being titanium. and the foxbat looks like a tomcat with no moving swept wings
And the blackbird was never shot down. The soviets tried desperately to down it every time it flew over.Eventually they gave up because the engines had to be replaced on the 25 chasing the sr71 everytime.
Huh? How did the Soviets dupe anyone? They produced an airplane whose capabilities were unknown when first revealed, like virtually every military aircraft.
Actually, the structure was table at speeds in excess of Mach 3. However, the Tumanski turbojets were not intended to run constantly at the power settings necessary to sustain those speeds; therefore, they would eventually self destruct. The plane's structural stress tolerance was limited to 2.2G.
Im here since 2010
The Foxbat was an awesome machine
Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau meeting:
'Comrade, what would you like this fighter to do?'
'Go faster... much faster...'
This is perfect air craft
Cool plane ✈️👍
I certainly hope this music played every time a Russian pilot got in his Mig 25.
Yea but they had to steal it from the west.
i like the mig 25 foxbat because this is a pretty fast aircraft and the way it looks and also one more thing is 0:06 that the pilots with their helmet look like if they are astronauts
MiG 25
my love❤❤❤
You are magnificent👏👍
This tune is an absolute banger

They had to strip the plane down for top speeds
Músic??? Name??? Please!!!
During the Gulf war, Iraqi MiG-25 in the air fight destroyed the F-18 and managed to snatch a few air raids by American aircraft at that time to go at great speed from interceptors F-15.
And.... The iraqi airforce lost haha its like saying we almost won.
Im 90% sure that never happened...

ke este gransioso avion no se retire nunca
no esta en servicio
The radar on this airplane was so powerful it could burn through enemy ECM!
How much did it cost per unit
Which is this music track?

Mig the Best
I love this jet.
It's been a damn year no one knows this fucking song wrf??!!
Where did you get this video ?
Superbo aereo da caccia capace di raggiungere i mach 3!!!! l'America corse ai ripari costruendo l' F-15
Does anyone know what film this clip is from?
Probably "Wings of the red star"
I don't think so, I have seen the MiG-25 episode, and it only has a clip of this video. I think this might be from a soviet era film, just can't find which one.
It's Starscream!
No, starscream is a F-15 Eagle.
LOL :)
Correction, IS an awesome machine.
(:
O mais belo avião de caça
@PatchworkFlag
Do you have more info about it ?

The radar could fry an egg on the tarmac 🤯⚡⚡⚡💯🤟
superb fighter jet
Nice. Vandemataram jai hind

Thought it was Stainless Steel, and Not Titanium ?
I thought there was something stealthy there.
I knew it mainly relied on the vast ECM suite behind the crew & speed for protection.
جيد
was this a TV show?
The good old days of the Cold War..
เพราะFoxBatสหรัฐถึงกำเนิดSR-71และตามมาด้วยF-15ที่เขาว่ามาจริงเปล่า
The legend of the soviet technology
Still no competitor in the west
yea, like when one was obtained by the west it was found to be still using valves
It was only overated by the west, who didn't know what it was. The USSR knew it was a short range interceptor at heart, nothing else. The pilots loved to fly it, it was a privilege, perfect of interception & recon. the west thought it was a super fighter, with high manoeuvering skills. União soviética!
its strange. the blackbird needed to be like no aircraft ever before it with 9/10 being titanium. and the foxbat looks like a tomcat with no moving swept wings
Because Blackbird can sustain over mach 2.5 and the foxbat can't stay long at that temperature, it was built to INTERCEPT .
And the blackbird was never shot down. The soviets tried desperately to down it every time it flew over.Eventually they gave up because the engines had to be replaced on the 25 chasing the sr71 everytime.
in the USSR, everyone is so hungry even the engines eat themselves
You're a liar
And then they shit on you right?
at 09 seconds I am ))).
The pilot? Or the crew member???
fake. Can't be alive.
I always thought the Russians duped the US in how good the Mig 25 was, until one was obtained and showed old technology etc
Huh? How did the Soviets dupe anyone? They produced an airplane whose capabilities were unknown when first revealed, like virtually every military aircraft.
I think the MIG-25 was overrated! The bird was very fast, and that was about it!
It also had respectable avionics (MiG-25PD onwards) and a dangerous armament
力足板飞
BRUTE FORCE ANG IGNORANCE COMRADE
I don't know why Indian Air Force Retire this Fighter Aircraft. It should be a mighty Hawk of IAF.
Because it’s old, outdated, and spare parts are almost impossible to come by anymore

mig 25 is good plane but arab pilots are awful
Not really I'm Iraqi and we destroyed some american F15 at1991
One F-18
I think the MIG-25 was overrated! The bird was very fast, and that was about it!
Sascha Körber interceptors have to be fast. They need to be capable of at least mach 1.5 to shoot down enemy bombers.
