    Grandiosi, immensi. Che imponenza drammatica. Una voce unica. Provate ad ascoltare lo stesso duetto del 1957 con la Carteri. Uno dei migliori della sua strepitosa carriera.

    ...what a couple on stage! RT and MDM did some of the most extraordinary versions of this opus magnum of Opera! Mi piace moltissimo!
    Nothing even close in contemporary singing. If someone wants to listen to the best, they have to look well into the past.

    This is the best Otello ever recorded in terms of singing.. in terms of conducting the best it's Toscanini's from 1947

      Alvaro de Campos Tabcaria: Yes, it is very good even if MDM could have followed the score dynamics better. HOWEVER, Iago of old Aldo Protti ruins the recordings. Ego driven Nazi Von Karajan dismissed Ettore Bastianini who would have been beautiful and insisted on Protti. And there was Giuseppe Taddei available! Decca/Culshaw should have had bigger balls. And of course Von Karajan left Decca in the lurch by abandoning the TOSCA recording with Freni, Pavarotti and Miles to record it, poorly, for DG. Ego indeed.
