Fred said it best: One great weekend doesn't make Ferrari World Champions and one horrendous weekend doesn't make them midfielders... Literally everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Every single thing. This was the first weekend, since the beginning of Fred's reign, where they had a messed up this badly in every single area. They are still one of the top teams, capable of contending on every single weekend. You could make the comparasion to Mercedes, they had ONE good weekend and suddenly everyone is saying that they are back even though we've seen similar one-offs over the past 3 season quite often. Ferrari probably will be strong in Spain again. The best thing they can do is to analyze, learn and move on, which I'm sure they will do.

I didn't get why the Ferrari would be bad at this track. It might actually just be the tire pressure they got wrong in terms of setup. Usually low-pressure means more temp, but after some research, and thinking, it turns out that sometimes lower tire pressure can actually lead to not reaching the correct tire temp, especially on a smooth resurfaced track. Too low a tire pressure often results in better grip thus more temp because of the bigger contact patch, but if the track is especially smooth, the bigger contact patch can make the force per unit area too small to grip the track. I think that is what happened with Ferrari, based on how they both said the car was sliding. Of course, that is just my armchair expert hypothesis.

I was lucky enough to be sitting at Turn 1 when it happened. The reason Max got ahead was because a)Lando was on fresh tires and b) he was coming out of pit lane so he was forced to the outside of the turn where it was still very wet, giving Max the lead. What I’m saying is that if he had stayed out one more lap while he was gaining, I think he could’ve squeezed out that extra second or so to get the advantage on the pit stop. Either way, The RB was flying on slicks, I doubt Lando would’ve kept the lead for long. They were faster on the inters, but not the slicks.

After the engine software restart, Ferrari didn't show good pace. This is strange.
    1) Do we have some data to compare (at that moment of the race) ?
    2) We saw the issue all the time, why Ferrari is saying that it was only for 15 laps ?

Ferrari doesn’t know how to stumble, they only know how to fall, and usually their fall is catastrophic. It’s a clear sign of a team that just doesn’t have what it takes to be more consistent - character and resilience. It’s a team that functions on thin ice every weekend, often it works and they get away with it, but when they fall through, oh boy…

Monaco was an outlier it was a track even Mercedes have struggled at sometimes during their dominate era. I would like to think teams are closing up to the Redbull, but Redbull still have the advantage especially with Max.
