Well in my mind it is a tie. Hindley Street Country Club from Australia is fantastic as well. F & F does these covers with the same singers and harmony is the best!
They are good but there are plenty of great so called cover bands on RUclips. Leonid and friends is just one of them. Keep rolling out the great memories
For just a a brief moment, it's the early 70s, I'm wearing bell bottoms and a flannel shirt and an army surplus coat, this song is playing in the 8-track player in the 64 van as we tool down the highway chasing the sun. Just a brief moment but in that moment all is right with the world again and hope rushes to the forefront. Thanks so much for lightening my heart this evening. You folks are special.
OMG, I just can’t get enough of those harmonies! I have followed these guys for years (since the girls were 15). They just keep getting better and better.
Yep, it was F&F's cover of Suite Judy Blue Eyes that made me follow this band for the last decade or so. I still go back and watch it at least once or twice a year. And agreed, their experience really increases the quality.
Even after all these years, I never cease to be astounded at Suite Judy blue eyes That was where I originally found them Live performances with such close harmonies God given talent
This band has a habit of making me appreciate songs I was aware of but raise my awareness of them to a much higher level. They seem to take every song they do from special to very special.
Nicely done. If you are old enough to have traveled America decades ago on the cheap ( I was) you know these places and the deeper meaning of this song.
The strum of the first chord stirs my soul and wells up emotions with expectations of places only music can take me. And I love how the immense talent of this group capably, palpably, and reliably takes me there every time.
Beautiful rendition of a song deceptively simple. The whole group really stands out on this song. I can only imagine the pleasure the audience had in seeing F&F perform these songs so well.
The magic of music and the harmonies of Foxes and Fossils transporting us back to our youth and a time when music creativity was blowing our minds. "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant"
Wow, this is beautiful! It's music like this that defined an era. I wish we could go back to those years. Seems like we've lost that America. Thank you Foxes and Fossils for reminding us in such a wonderful way.
Mr. Johnny Pike!!! Yes, the whole group is wonderful, but your drumming and bass playing makes me smile and gives me a peaceful feeling! Thank you for sharing your skills!
Hitchhiking from upstate NY to CA in the summer of 1971, stuck trying to catch a ride on an on ramp near Flint, MI for 12 hours (not knowing that the state prison nearby had just had two inmates escape, and me in jeans, a blue chambray shirt, and boots...). The trucker who finally picked me up explained the error of my mistake. And this song running through my mind much of the time.
Never a disappointment from F&F Great Job to all of You. God Bless and Stay safe, keep them coming. Still wish I had made the show but work and life never cooperate at times.
Something impossible to predict but a joy to watch is when Foxes and Fossils find the "perfect" song for their voices and harmony. Simply put, this is one of those songs, elevated for reasons I don't understand but a performance perfectly done, honoring the original yet uniquely their own. And I swear Tim's voice is getting better.
Tim was fighting thru vocal fatigue for much of the show. This was the second night and they'd visited with fans so much the night before plus the 28 song concert. He finally gave out on the last song the 2nd night and had Darwin take his part mid - song . Great voice, I have a cd he put out in 1996, sounded amazing.
Such a complex song to play and sing. The subtlety of the bass and drums; the harmonies.....this is one of the best renditions I've ever heard and seen. LOVE YOU GUYS/GALS
I'm blown away! One of the most beautiful songs ever and F&F made it better. Some of those harmonies were so beautiful it brought a tear to my eye and Tim sang the song to perfection. All I can say is thank you!
You know, if each time F&F release a new video, if all of us sent the clip on to one or two friends and asked them to do the same, it wouldn't be too long before this remarkable group achieved the wide appreciation they richly deserve. Let's do it because they are such a special band bringing joy with every song. America by Paul Simon is one of the best ever written - it's pure poetry - and here delivered in the distinctive F&F style it really touches your heart. Thanks Tim, you're a master at picking songs that bring out the real magic in your beautifully unique group of musicians. Excuse me, I need to watch again and then send it on to a few friends here in Australia!
That's how they have 103,000,000 views and comments from fans in 50 countries, lots of sharing for 14 years. Thanks for spreading the word about them .They hear from quite a few Aussie fans.
After seeing the full concert on demand this year, I can say without hesitation that - despite major competition - this is the most hauntingly beautiful song of the set. Perfection in every way, and the five part harmonies (coupled with the rest of the stellar band) really are Ear Candy.
Stumbled across this after listening to Simon and Garfunkel, it’s truly magnificent, I wonder if that girl realizes how wonderful her singing actually is, to me it’s absolutely outstanding
Astonishing. Simply astonishing. This song is absolutely out of the world, and these sweet voices make it so much better. Both my daughter and I "grew up" together with Paul Simon. She and her husband took me to see Paul in his final tour season. He did a wonderful job of this song; but honestly, not as good as Foxes and Fossils do it. So nice, guys and gals.
This brought tears to my eyes. When I first heard this song so may years ago my life was ahead of me and there was nothing I couldn't do. Now I'm looking back and thinking, "that all worked out pretty well." You people are so talented and this cover is incredible. Thank you so much.
If you're not without a doubt one of the best sounding cover bands in the country then I'd like to know who is. Always that tight harmony, the expertise of the instrumental support. First rate, classy. You folks have it all. Thanks for sharing this one.
Been a fan since the Pizza days. They are great not just because they have great voices, but because they care enough to get it right through hard work. Love this band.
This has to be my favorite S & G song. I normally don't "hear" lyrics; I'm always focused on the music and a song's lyrics really have to leap out at me for me to pay attention to them. For some reason, this song is one of those whose lyrics resonate with me. As always, F&F has done a bang up job at interpreting this timeless piece of Americana. Kudos to the entire groups, both the Foxes and the Foxes!!! 👏👏👏
I bought a bunch of classic albums a while back and started checking them for dents, dings, etc.. Just so happens the one I was checking about an hour ago was .. you guessed it - Simon & Garfunkel! I've always loved this song..
You are a musical genius. You easily recognize great talent and bring them together to create a rare and spectacular group that can cover any song and the end result is just as good and sometimes better than the original. My hat is off to you, Sir! BRAVO!
A spine-tingling song, and a spine-tingling performance, what we come to expect from the F&F crew, thanks!!! Decades ago Rolling Stone magazine asked Mick Jagger what lyric he wished he's have written, and he said, "Laughing on the bus, playing games with the faces, she said the man in a gabardine coat was a spy, I said be careful his bow-tie is really a camera.." Wonderful S&G lyrics, and wonderful F&F rendition..
What they have is musical harmonies and a sense of what the lyrics mean. I don’t think kids are exposed to beautiful, purposeful, intelligent music like this anymore. It’s what made Simon and Garfunkel great, the Beatles, so many of the songs we enjoy today. It’s just that beautiful. This band is like a booster shot of my college years and what was loving and supportive to me in difficult times. Love your sounds, not just the vocalists, but the musicians as well.
I discovered you a couple of years ago and believe with all your talent and the beautiful sounds you all make, you should be internationally recognized!!! Thank you for sharing your awesome talents with us!!!
The harmonies and arrangement are great. A funnydt story about this song Simon and Garfunkle while just started touring made a stop in my home town of Saginaw. The MC, a local radio found them writing a song about America and mention they stopped here often they should make mention of it.
I’ve listened to this rendition many times and it, in my humble opinion, is as good as it gets. Wonderful harmonies and musical accompaniment. A really tight ensemble of accomplished musicians for sure. Well done.👍👍🇨🇦
I remember the 1st time you did this when the girls were so young. It was great. I think I preferred the 1st time. The raw innocence of youth is magical. :)
August 1987... driving north from Florida to Delaware... in my 1981 Toyota Celica... Concert in Central Park on cassette... that's where this song takes me. I was all of 21. Damn.... time is a harsh task master. When you are 21, it seems endless... now 59, not so much.
Back on a live stage, I love it! After all these years, my favorite is still Suite: Judy Blue Eyes. When I heard/saw it, I thought my hearing and my eyes had gone funny... I wondered.... how is it possible for such a difficult song in every aspect, to be covered with such clarity and courage! Everything was spot on - nothing was missing and there were only five F&F then. I also feasted on the atmosphere and the good time they were having - couldn't take my eyes of the girls 😇😇
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for playing. I’ve been subscribed since the beginning. It’s no wonder you’ve come so far. Such talent. Congratulations from Australia.
Does anyone else agree that this is the best cover band on the planet?!! Absolutely incredible!
Well in my mind it is a tie. Hindley Street Country Club from Australia is fantastic as well. F & F does these covers with the same singers and harmony is the best!
I do
@@FordF250Tremor Totally agree with that, HSCC is another fantastic band. They find incredible talent in Aussieland.
YES I DO!!!!! Truly you ARE you guys.
They are good but there are plenty of great so called cover bands on RUclips. Leonid and friends is just one of them. Keep rolling out the great memories

So well put.
Same.
A stunning performance, brought tears to my eyes.
Yeah, the nostalgia is strong. Growing up in the sixties and seventies had its moments. ☮☮✌✌
Me too!
OMG, I just can’t get enough of those harmonies! I have followed these guys for years (since the girls were 15). They just keep getting better and better.
Nowhere as good as simon and garfunlel!
Yes, F&F are much better
Yep, it was F&F's cover of Suite Judy Blue Eyes that made me follow this band for the last decade or so. I still go back and watch it at least once or twice a year. And agreed, their experience really increases the quality.
@@SamLopezI It's not a friggin' competition! Do yourself a favor and not watch it. Do us all a favor and shut up.
Even after all these years, I never cease to be astounded at Suite Judy blue eyes
That was where I originally found them
Live performances with such close harmonies
God given talent
71 years old, THANK YOU for the memories!
You all are beyond great. This version might even put a smile on Paul Simon's face! Great work!
The harmonies that the Foxes create chill me to the bone! Amazing job F&F
This band has a habit of making me appreciate songs I was aware of but raise my awareness of them to a much higher level. They seem to take every song they do from special to very special.
You know what? Funny but the same thing happens to me when I listen to them!
Nicely done.
If you are old enough to have traveled America decades ago on the cheap ( I was) you know these places and the deeper meaning of this song.
Right on! 👍
It’s an anthem of our youth , a time of innocent and hope. How we lost our way . Beautifully sung by the Foxes and Fossils.
You guys have come a long way from that crowded patio next to the parking lot. And it's been a joy to be with you every step of the way.
You're not kidding about the tingles when y'all harmonize. Just AMAZING !!!
Pure joy listening to this. What harmony. The way music should be
What awesome talent God has blessed all of you with...so beautiful!
The magic of music and the harmonies of Foxes and Fossils transporting us back to our youth and a time when music creativity was blowing our minds.

At ,74, i remember these tunes ,,still love them. You folks are amazing,,wish i could see you in concert. Thanks for the memories.
Words cannot describe the talent level of this group...simply amazing
That drummer is killing it. He gets overshadowed by the harmonies, but he's SO good.
Johnny Pike on drums.
Agree. He is a very good drummer.
You are right, I went back and relisten...drummer is really on it an adds a lot to the tune
he is brilliant. Great feel for the song
Agreed! What a fantastic drummer!
F & F is simply the very best. Their renditions take you to another time and place.
The angels have fallen from the heavens in the form of Foxes & Fossils ❤❤😊😊
Love this tune. In 82 I boarded a Greyhound to Beaumont, As I walked off to look for America. Ended up in the Navy.
If you had watched Easy Rider it would have saved you a trip.
Those 2 found America, for better or worse. 😢🤷🏻♂️
Anyone can cover a song. Not everyone can put you in the song.
Foxes & Fossils have that ability.
Heart & soul.
Thanks! beautiful harmony. I love this song.
Absolutely beautiful ladies and gentlemen! That was spectacular! Very well arranged and performed - and that in front of an audience!
Mr. Johnny Pike!!! Yes, the whole group is wonderful, but your drumming and bass playing makes me smile and gives me a peaceful feeling! Thank you for sharing your skills!
Nailed it! Beautifully done. Kudos to every member of the band. Great harmonies, perfect playing, fantastic arrangement!

Slightly younger … but me too. Beautiful performance, wonderful song.

Even Tim is in awe of the harmonies . I love them ❤️.
Another fantiastic cover by the F&F! I will get tired of listening to this band and singers. Such wonderful harmonies and great instrumentals, too.
Assuming you meant " never get tired ..."
Great song and the harmony of F&F gives me goose bumps every time! Incredible rendition!

I just shared this with 2 others because it is so very listenable, so warm & clear & beckoning. A wonderful rendition, thank you!

Beautiful song. Beautiful performance. Amazing group. Continue on with your excellence. And thank you.
Tim and Sammie singing in unison is amazing; they sound so similar. The the harmonies break out again and the magic continues.

It was beautiful when I first heard you do it, even more so now!
This is a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song with poignant lyrics. Great job F&F.
A spine-tingling song, and a spine-tingling performance, what we come to expect from the F&F crew, thanks!!!

Trying to imagine the Rolling Stones covering this song ,lol.
Great arrangement. And the mix is amazing! Love hearing that bass punching in behind the acoustics and vocals. Excellent! 👏👏
It was magnificent in person...magnificent on you tube. Thanks F&F.

Tim’s got a GREAT voice. So pleasing.
With Sammie harmonizing along it’s really special
You all are amazing. The harmonies are so soothing and beautiful. Between your voices and the spot on instruments it's awesome!
What a phenomenal performance of this iconic song! Foxes and Fossils, you have out done yourself with this one, and that is saying a lot. Thank you!
A beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Well done!

People will ask: why do you still listens to the music from the 60’s and the 70’s?
Me: Because it’s the best music!

real voices, the separation in the stellar harmony arrangement is so clear and revealing in my HT F&F never disappoints
