      I talk about this in a later video too, but that’s also a correct term! Really, any move that does that wrist motion is a flourish (carousel, windmill, butterfly, Blue Devil, invert, etc).

    we call those red devils

    • @SpintronixGuard
      @SpintronixGuard  Год назад +1

      Makes sense! The opposite of this move (the one we call a windmill) was first taught by the Blue Devils DBC in clinics across the country and then in a series of instructional VHS tapes in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Many people called the windmill “blue devils” and therefore they decided the opposite motion must be a “red devil” to delineate both the similarities and differences of the moves!

    is this different than an inverted flourish?

    • @SpintronixGuard
      @SpintronixGuard  Год назад

      I don’t know, it depends on what you call an inverted flourish? All moves that use this particular wrist motion are classified as flourishes: carousels, butterflies, windmills, etc. So we could technically call this a “carousel flourish” and if you call this hand position inverted then your program can call it an “inverted flourish.” One theme of naming moves that seems to ring true, however, is that something called “inverted” generally has a hand in the thumbs-down position. The carousel uses the thumbs-up position so you might be comparing your “inverted flourish” to our “windmill flourish” maybe? Check out that video too and see if that makes sense.
