I have a small headcanon
Supernovae "Bambi" is a decoy of Bambi created by Expunged that hopes you would cheat in some way so Expunged can confront you. It would explain why Expunged would terminate the other process, supposedly Supernovae Bambi, as shown in the pre-cheating cutscene, so that he would make his debut.
Besides, the Master week implies that it's a difficult week when it's really not, which tells the player that the game wanted you to cheat, specifically by accessing the chart editor. In my opinion, that is the trapdoor of Expunged sending you to the 3D world
In the end, Expunged is really a computer virus manifesting as random characters from various video games, and learns from them to grow stronger, but the only reason why he looks like Bambi is that it's the first character he ever saw in his life. This tells me that if Expunged were to hypothetically infect other games after the events of Dave and Bambi, he would disguise/create minions as stronger characters and/or characters that you trust in order to deceive the player, and the decoys will make you lose badly in order to get you to cheat, which is how Expunged gains his powers, and thus repeating the cycle.
