Thats cool how you stuck to wanting to get it done yourself with the trans. I have a 1980 accord and did a clutch. That trans is pretty light. I was still struggling. I also didnt want any help so i ended up making longer temporary dowel pins by getting some long bolts that matched the threads and cutting the heads off and then hanging the trans on the bolts so i could get it to line up and then starting the correct bolts and pulling those long ones out

Wow you go girl holy crap putting in a transmission by yourself, on your back!!! I'm a very strong real man I couldn't even pull a transmission by myself had to get help from two other guys and that's on the hoist to boot. Mind u it was also a cast iron SM465 out of a 1973 GMC 2500 in for a clutch job.
I 'almost' bought one of these when I was in college (1991) but it was sold before I could get back to the guy with the cash. So I got a 1980 Mazda GLC instead. I still miss the GLC, older cars are so much more fun to drive.

Where I'm from whenever you convert from auto to stick, it is customary to DO A BURN OUT LOL. Anyways great job on the conversion. I have done this back in my teen days to several of my TE Corollas. (I owned 6)
Yo soy mecánico, tengo dos uno 1.8 el otro 1.6 83 los dos cuatro puertas automáticos y soy fiebru mayormente rotativo pero están incomparables , pues me quedé con los toyotas y de verdad los dejé como son ellos automáticos, porque si algún día uno decide salir de ellos el que sabe paga más por ellos. Pero me alegro con la joven esta bien contenta, que la disfrute.
Sweetie where the shifter is is there pop rivets around that if there is drill them out pull that piece out go back to the auto wreckers and then do the same thing there and then take it get some dum dum and then put some around there and then put that piece on there don't cut it out because it makes a mess just drill up the pop rivets and just take that piece out of there I said I've done it so I know exactly what's going on I've had a 77 Corolla lip back that I did that too I put a standard into it

Just an FYI. The RED bands around the solder butt connector are waterproof seals that melt to the wire. So you don't need a 2nd layer of shrink tubing

its easier to use a cigarette lighter on the wire covers than a heat gun, great car you welding the rear diff
