Good morning. The idea of using the plastic bag to get the fishing line out as far as possible works well. The wind tossing the bag about will entice a fish to take the bait. The only problem is if the bag lets go. Great vacation destination for us snowbirds looking for some sun during the cold grip of winter.
I've never seen that done before, but it was a neat idea. Something to remember for just the right time. I wonder how big of fish they were after, and how did they get them up that cliff?
Beautiful beach, and the Lava is really something to witness. “Ten pound of potato stuffed in a five pound bag.” Now that had me rolling! 😂😂😂 The jungle is also quite impressive. Then, there’s the open lands, and I’m sure the camera doesn’t do the water justice. Hawaii has it all! I’m so glad you two had the opportunity for this trip. Thank you for taking us along. 😊
Good day, I want to thank you for sharing all the Hawaii footage with us. It's been -20 the last couple days and it's nice to be reminded that spring will soon be here. Have a great day
Thank you very much! These videos weren't very popular for some reason. I kind of thought it would be a nice change. Oh well, back to the frozen North! Have a great day too!
You really did manage to see a lot in a few days! Did you find out what those black buggy things were? Very strange! The water is such a gorgeous color! You must have had an amazing trip! Thanks so much for taking us along! Too bad we didn’t get to see you in your 1920’s bathing suit!😂
We did pack a LOT into this trip! Very grateful to Carole and Marlene for going all out! I think they are some sort of a sea urchin? I've never seen anything like them before? HA! I'll have to wear that swim suit to the hot springs!
They did! I think they belonged to someone? We did have some they called "Apple Bananas" They are about half the size of most, but a lot more flavor. I'd never had them before, or even heard of them before.
You'd have to have the patience of Jobe to surf fish in Hawaii. I watched a guy fish below our condo for 10 days and never saw him catch anything. I finally went down and asked him if he ever caught anything. He said he had one on, a few days ago! Yikes!
I'm assuming that they're doing what some people use beach balls as floats for catching catfish. It allows you to get your line out about a hundred yards, I've never actually seen it done. The big catfish will actually pull it under far enough to burst the beach balls.
I bet so? It looked like the wind would take it out a long way. I wonder about what happens once they catch a fish though? How can you tell? With that much line out, I bet you wouldn't feel a tug? It's a pretty good trick to remember if the wind is right.
Good morning Gary, I really enjoyed these videos from the island! Sounds like you folks had a very nice time. I'm not a great traveler. I have traveled more since I've been married, and my wife's family lives in Europe. I'm more of a homebody. I think we are the same that way, brother. But when I do travel somewhere, I take it all in. You folks have created some wonderful memories for yourselves. Have a good day my friend.
I like to travel, but not this far. If we can drive there, I'm good with that. We tend to stay pretty close to home most of the time too. This was a LOT of fun, but I don't want to go anyplace we have to fly to, or I can't take the dogs again.
I watched all these videos this week. Looks like you guys really enjoyed this trip. I definatly enjoyed what you shared. Plus l learned some things l did not know before.👍
Weren't you swimmin' with the fishes? I've always heard that Jimmy Hoffa may be swimmin' with the fishes. Have a great day brother. I enjoyed each minute of the Hawaii trip as well, great to be following along - as close as I'll ever get to Hawaii, I'm guessin'.
"Most of 'em are a little over-stuffed." LOL. Ain't like it used to be. I would have to at least try the water out but no one wants to see me in a swim suit, believe me. I'm quite used to swimming in salt water - just a bit cooler to get used to here in the North Atlantic. Dontcha think that mongoose resembles a young sea otter? I always thought the mongoose is the critter that kills and eats snakes. Haven't checked it out but I must be mistaking it for something else. I'll be re-watching this video series a few times, I'm guessin' . It strikes me we're quite blessed compared to what other people in other countries have to endure; have to try and keep that in mind as I get and feel OLD, lol. Looking forward to the next visit my brother. You and Cindy be blessed, abounding with peace, till next time. Thanks again.
Be sure and let us know if you find out what those black things turned out to be. At first glance, I figured it was young turtles, babies, but then you can see they had too many legs. Watching the final Hawaii video again. Really is cool.
HA! That's why I bought a 1920's swim suit! I'd look like 100 pounds of taters in that 5 pound bag! Mongoose do kill snakes. Even Cobras! There are no snakes at all in Hawaii, but I guess they brought them there to kill sugar rats. From what they said, the Mongoose hunts by day, and the rats are out at night, so it didn't work out too well. They doo look a lot like an otter. At least from a distance!
Been there once. What I always thought was how did people find this pin head sized island 2400 miles from main land. I don’t buy the thought of people floating around in a dug out canoe that far out finding the place. Then there are animals unique to the place. Where did they come from, what’s your thought ?
I wondered that too. There are sooo many different plants and animals and it's such a remote place that it's hard to imagine. I can understand a dugout canoe getting there by accident. Shipwrecked or something, but it would need both men and woman to populate the island. Most of those old fishing parties were just men I think? Getting there on purpose seems pretty impossible without really good navigation tools. They say the island is only a half million years old, so it took off pretty fast really.
I really appreciated your videos. I've seen tons of Hawaii videos but, you took the time to show stuff I've never seen. You're too much like me, I hate the tourist stuff. I don't like crowds, I love driving the dirt roads out in the country so I don't have to look at people. Your videos showed stuff I've never seen along with people, btw some of those "people" looked pretty good in bikinis.
Thank you! We like the land, birds, and animals best. It was hard to get away from people, but we wanted to see as much of the "wild" natural stuff as possible. Those were the best bikinis we saw! HA! I missed a few more though.....
So very glad y'all took the time. Beautiful photography. Never been. Exactly as I thought it would be. Never liked tourists much. I've been to 27 countries and have always gotten away from the tourist districts.
Some of that eye-catching scenery can b rough on an older persons eye balls .. lol Glad u all got to visit such a unique and beautiful state / island . I wantua explore rhe 51st state .
I’m really happy that you guys had a beautiful, beautiful outing quite a change of pace from what you’re used to, but it’s always nice to get back home. Sleep in your own bed if you know what I mean.
100% Right! As fun as it was, it's always good to get back home too. We had a ball though! We have a rope bed....no mattress. After sleeping on it for 35 years or so, it's hard to sleep in a "real bed".
Recon how that bikini of yours is gunna look with leather suspenders and your old hat!! Not sure what your standards my boy but those bikinis look dang good
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing nice 👍
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you too!
Very nice trip. Certainly won’t forget it I’m sure. Such a beautiful place. Enjoy the day 👍👍
For me the ocean is very nice but the mountains are my true passion
No, we sure won't forget this one! It really was one of our life's highlights!
Me too! My Grandparents lived on the Washington coast, and I have always liked going fishing in boats, but I'm most at home in the mountains.
Howdy Gary and Cindy. The lava reminded of welding, how the ridges are formed as it's cooling down, on a much larger scale though.
Actually, it's exactly like that! It does look a lot like a welding bead.
Great video
Thank you!
Good morning! Sure hope you went swimming or at least got in the surf!👍🏽😊❤️🇺🇸
No, we didn't. Kind of kicking myself now. Really should have, but it just never worked out.
@@MuskratOutdoors please Google the song I don’t look good naked anymore! Very funny 😂🤣

@@MuskratOutdoors I've used that method & it works. To get the fish up the cliff they would probably use a jigger line & large hook.
Morning 🌄
Good evening now, I'm late!
@MuskratOutdoors hahaha
Some of those plants almost look carnivorous!!!!!
They might be. I was thinking the same thing. Most, I have no idea what they were.
Glad you're having a good time Muskrat..you and miss Cindy be safe and happy..can't wait till you're home tho to be honest
Thank you! HA! Yeah, these videos haven't been very popular!
@MuskratOutdoors I appreciate everything you do to bring us to another place regardless of the content
Thanks for the uploads, brings back memories of my "youth".......
Thank you! Good Memories I hope!

HAHA! It's TRUE! I was amazed at how much it varies. There's even snow there on the mountain top sometimes. People actually go sking!
Happy day Muskrat and Cindy, that was fun, thankx for sharing your trip, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL place!! GOD BLESS 👩🌾✌️🇨🇱
Thank you! It was a great trip. It's fun to see someplace new.
Those lava rocks with all the holes in them would make cool rock garden ornaments. Glad you made it home safe. Have a great day.
They sure would! Really very neat!
Beautiful place. Like the old saying, no place like home lol. Pretty place to visit, glad you both had a great time.
It sure is! It really was great, but like you say, it's good to be home again too.
Hello Muskrat! Been busy, good to see you all hadca great vacation! Ill have to go back on missed videos, Have yourselves a wonderful day!
Thank you very much! It's always better being there than watching it, but I was surprised these weren't more popular.
@MuskratOutdoors I've been busy,, I don't miss your videos to often,,,Glad you all had a wonderful time!

Good evening now, I'm late! It's supposed to snow here. It really was a wonderful place. I can see how a fella could get used to living there.
Morning 👋🏻 Those bananas looked delicious. I believe I would have had to eat some😊 Thanks for sharing. Have a great day ❤🙏🏻❤️
I was thinking the same thing, lol.

It was great! It's good to be back home too though. We really missed our dogs!
Such an interesting trip. Sights you would never see on the mainland. So very cool.
Thanks! It was very different that what we are used to.
Good Morning 🌄
GOOD MORNING!

I think so! I never saw anyone catching anything? We asked one guy "Are you getting anything?" He said......"A Sun Burn!"
I'm assuming that they're doing what some people use beach balls as floats for catching catfish. It allows you to get your line out about a hundred yards, I've never actually seen it done. The big catfish will actually pull it under far enough to burst the beach balls.

@MuskratOutdoors
Trust me when you get a tug, you'll feel it. If it's a big enough fish, it'll take the beach ball down.
Its sure is cool the earth can be so different from pine mountains to banana trees. Thanks for sharing your trip
It sure is. It's hard to imagine how different things can be. I wasn't expecting most of this.

Thanks for showing us around Hawaii Gary. I'm very happy yall were able to get away for a bit.
Thank you very much too Ron. It was pretty amazing!
Mornin those rocks look really neat.
They really were. It was neat to see layers on top of other layers and imagine the lava flowing.
Good Morning! I get high anxiety in crowds, almost claustrophobic. Thanks for the great views!😉 Have a great day!
I do too. We try to avoid it as much as possible. That one beach didn't look like fun to me at all. If nobody was there, it would be great!
