"But what I've heard ..." well, if you judge people from what you have heard, thats not good. Some people do not like Bernd because he is saying what he thinks; they just don't like to hear the truth. Those airshows were his passion, he wanted to demonstrate how perfect that Lama is and most people enjoied it. So why complain ? It's over now anyways, we live in Canada now.
Dang! He's one good helo pilot! That's freakin awesome! Loved it when he went inverted! Is the airframe & flight components actually made to take this type of extreme flying at all time? That was some awesome flying!
Nothing to reply, you are right... We can see lots of things of RUclips... The best pilots and the worst president who made me laugh to tears on your site... Let's hope that the next one will be better:-) Greetings from Switzerland!
Hello... good question! Some helicopters can do loops and rolls, it's possible with rigid rotors (for example the Bölkow 105 of the Red Bull Team). The Lama has strict limitations because of its fully articulated rotor. Now the 3D like RC helis... Even if a machine was designed for 3D, the pilot wouldn't have the visibility of a RC pilot. And just imagine the accelerations (the G) he would have in the cockpit... He would probably not survive! That's the superiority of RC helis!
Well I will answer several things. Do you think that companies keep a pilot if he's really an a***? There are other pilots to replace them! Where did you get the info from? Have you spoken with the lots of friends Bernd had in the Valais? Did you watch my report "Derniers tours de pales" on RUclips? I can give you an english translation if you want. Just watch it and tell me if you still feel that Bernd is a bad person...
manovre cosi le anno fatte ancora anni 90 minetti e rossi all elidolomoti dopo una giornata di lavoro in momtagna non servono gli svizzeri ci sono piloti fantastici in italia
Also in a Hughes 500 C in the hands of a great pilot. In 1980, I was in NZ. Alady friend reporter invited me to ride to Hamilton from Auckland, where she was to be doing interviews for the annual "Farm Days" festival. It was in a valley beneath a 100 foot bluff. She went off to do her job and I wandered around. A 500 C came and landed on the bluff, and put up a sign " Helicopter Rides. -- $30". I climbed up and asked to check out his bird, while he was eating his lunch. I told him about when I was a kid about 12 years old, that I won a trip to the SanDiego Zoo, with a bus full of other Parks and Recreation volunteers. They bussed us down ,and gave us $5 cash for entry. There was a a guy with a Hughes 269 or 300 giving quick tours for $15. I watched as he pirouetted up from the landing pad and back down next to his small fuel truck 100 feet away. Then back to the pad. I wandered over and told him all I had was $ 5. He said well since you're skinny and only weigh 60 pounds hop in. The landing pad was on a small jetty, and he pushed it over steeply, and dove towards the water, and then pulled it up about 5 feet above the water. I was totally enthralled, even though I had spent my zoo entry fee, and had to now sit for 4 hours, for everyone else to arrive back to the bus. So fast forward 15 years later, the 500 C pilot finished his lunch and said " I need to drum up some business, hop in." This guy was maybe 5 years older than me, and was a total hot dog pilot. He did all the moves in this video, and asked me "ya getting sick yet? I said " no man, this great!" He replied " well watch this..." We were in a high hover about 200 feet above the crowd below all looking up. He tilted the nose down, but instead of diving down, we went quickly upwards and backwards still pointing forward, about 50 feet in a smooth hump, as if a roller coaster running backwards. " Wow man that's great, you're a way better pilot than that other guy. He just laughed, and told me he had been flying helo's since he was 16, as his dad owned Heli-Jet Boat Tours. Then we landed. I thanked him for the freebie, as 10 people were scrambling up the bluff for their turn. But I got the E ticket ride, and those that followed got the cruisy ride. When I met up with my lady friend again, she said "everyone thought you guys were about to crash and were running away." I just laughed, Nope, just a really great ride.

@MrTugSpeedman He wasn't over the VNE. The vibrations were caused by the camcorder we fixed in the helicopter.

@impreza229 Bernd ne m'aime pas???????
Is this Lama equipped with the wooden blades ? or with the composite ones ?
Never had wooden blades...
...and the said "composite US blades" were maybe offering more power but also damages to the cell !
SUPER MAN AEREO
wow
Nothing special. And all these figures can also be done with a Schweizer 300 as well...
