At 7:36 there's an untold story here. The Browns were in the lead 21-7 with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter. They gave up a touchdown, an onside kick recovery, and another touchdown to get to this point in OT. Just a little history lesson 😂

They also don’t make it clear that the play before this one happened the week before, so Mike Brown had two defensive interceptions for touchdowns, in back to back weeks, in back to back OT games.

Honestly, for all the pure luck on the Bears part and pure ineptness on the Browns part to have all that happen in that short amount of time, this should be the number 1 game on this list by a mile.

"The Immaculate Reception" at 15:30 is made even more incredible b/c of the rules at the time. Back then, a receiver couldn't touch/tip the ball to another offensive player consecutively before it was caught. The only way Franco Harris could legally catch that throw is if it bounced off of Jack Tatum and wasn't last touched by John Fuqua.
The fact that it seems that did happen, that Harris made a shoestring catch, and this was a divisional playoff game all add to the lore of this incredible play. Definitely deserving of its spot near the top here. 👌

Thomas makes that play and the Chiefs win the AFC West, get a first round bye, and don't have to go to Miami as a wild card on a sloppy field at Joe Robbie in early January either. I'll always remember that game as the game after James Harrison punched a player on national television and got away with it, then got to make a hero play in the superbowl. But that aside the rest of Steelers were impressive in that superbowl, and that throw and catch cemented a legacy for Big Ben.

There’s a reason why the Eagles Giants rivalry is the best in football. There are 4 games shown on this list between them and they left out a 5th from 2003 when Giants punted to Brian Westbrook who brought it in for a TD with less than 2 minutes left. And each last minute win (including the Westbrook game) occurred at the opponent’s home stadium.

The play where the official knocks Tim Brown off his route is a bit suspect!?! I know when you're on the field you have to be aware of thier presence, but if you look back at the play not only does the ref dart right into his path immediately, but he looks right at Brown and takes more than a few steps directly into his path all while staring right at him! I'm not gonna say he intended to interfere with Brown and cause an int, but IMO he definitely did not at all attempt to get out of the way and literally went out of his way to block Browns path which seems to be intentional considering he's staring right at him while doing so!

    • @paxhumana2015

I think that referee crews need to be held to account for intentionally interfering in plays in favor of a team in a game because it undermines their positions as unbiased officials in a game, and if anyone argues otherwise, then they can spend the rest of their lives inside of a prison cell in solitary confinement, and that is IF I am feeling generous, and ditto for the referee crews that allowed it to happen as well.
