Please make sure that kitty’s collar is a “break away” collar for his safety to prevent accidental choking. I’m sure you have already done your research but I didn’t recognize that collar as a typical break away one meant for cats. When lightly pulling on the collar, the buckle should break away. The tiny collars found in the dog section are NOT breakaway. So happy you all added a cat to your family!! He’s so cute❤

Also if a cat is purring it isn't because they love you, though that is a factor. It's because they feel safe and protected. Finally you may think you chose him, but most cats choose their owners because of the love and affection shown.
I would recommend to use a food instead of just letting it eat from the tin because I have a cat and when she was a kitten she cute her nose open on the tin, I was seven at the time and it was a very scary experience. I would hate for that to happen to your kitten. 🐱
Fun story Jonah might enjoy. We had a stray Momma kitty give birth to her 3 baby kittens in the window well of our basement. Luckily for that Momma kitty, we love animals at our house so her & her babies now live at our house. We already had 2 dogs but now we've added 4 cats! 😂
