Grew up watching Indiana Jones. Played some of the old games - they generally weren't great Pleased that this new game seems to be getting positive reviews.
I LOVE THIS GAME! Completely went from a game i was looking forward to, to becoming my favourite game to release this gen! 15 hours in so far and I am still exploring the Vaticun and all its hidden secrets. So much attention to detail in this game, masterpiece!
It gets a lot better. I can’t put it down, after you leave the Vatican it opens up and is super fun. Make sure you’re using your books to upgrade your skills. I didn’t know until close to the end of the first chapter and after applying some perks I was slapping everyone around

My only hope is that this game is better recieved than the last Indiana Jones movie. That's not a high bar to pass. Edit: I actually really like that the gunplay isn't amazing and you're even punished for using it. Indy isn't Batman, so he's willing to use guns but ultimately his skillset is that of an archeologist. He resolves conflict with his wit and guns are a last resort and largely just because that's not what his strong suit is.

I wish more people played Metroid Prime, because this game seems way more comparable to it than it does to Uncharted. It's a First Person Adventure with puzzles & platforming (and 3rd person traversal mechanics) just like Prime, not a first person shooter like Wolfenstein or Doom.

I love seeing that pretty much everyone is liking this game, and it's like an 86-87 on metacritc. I watched over 2 hours of gameplay and loved it. This one is going in the collection.

My main concerns were/are 1) combat getting in the way of what I want to do and 2) progress being hampered by obtuse puzzles or game maps/obstacles. Your review confirms the first concern, but maybe the 2nd won't be too bad.
I have absolutely no nostalgia for Indiana Jones as an IP, stealth and puzzle gameplay generally bores me, and first person fist fighting in games tends to disorient me. Still giving this game a chance once it hits Game Pass, just because of who you get to punch. Nothing more patriotic than punching a WWII German, no matter what nation you're a part of.
Not gonna lie, fighting system is like an even wonkier, shittier version of the Skyrim one, the NPC A.I is incredibly dumb... But what else can you expect from Bethesda. 🤷🏾♂
