Hey Enderman, did you know that drive letters can be not letters? Like $:\, ∆:\, or any Unicode character. You can make a video on this! Most programs don't know about this, so they don't show the hidden drives and they don't create them. But you can easily create them with subst or mountvol!
And what would happen if you do that to the school computers... Classmate: Teacher, the computer is not working properly. Teacher: *Turn it off and turn it on.*
I recently had something happen to me in Windows 7 like this, with my boot drive letter being changed from C:/ to D:/ (I eventually figured out). Had identical problems with trying to boot and it hanging. This happened a few months ago and happened while I was doing AMD Radeon complete removal so I could install an older version. After the removal I rebooted to this headache. Instead of working on it longer I just bought an SSD and did a manual transfer of files, along with a fresh Win7 OS install.
I once swapped a HDD (with Windows installed) with an SSD. In theory it should've been easy (just copy the partitions bit by bit), except the SSD was smaller so I only copied one partition. Windows also had a drive letter assigned to the new one already which might have been a problem. Either way, I spent a couple hours editing the registry so that Windows knows where to boot from, but it worked in the end.
Why not just reinstall Windows on that drive? It would have been easier and would have given you a clean slate. Sure, it's kind of a hassle to set everything up again, but it also means any crust or weirdness from the old installation ("Windows rot") doesn't carry over.
2:25 - Cannot divide by zero 2:32 - *Calculator freezes because you hit scientific, causing it to divide by zero* Calculator lasted only 11 seconds in this video.. (Actually it lasted 35 seconds after the C: drive letter was removed.)

We can also use diskpart. 1. sel disk 0 2. list vol 3. sel vol (your windows volume) 4. remove all diskmount (but this is unmounting your selected volume
fun fact: im a linux user and actually know that /dev/sda1 is the ~500mb FAT partition. /dev/sda2 is the "main" partition where all user-created things are stored(and which gets full faster then [insert VERY fast thing in here]. )
I think it gets stuck on the startup screen because the bootloader uses UNC paths but when it tries to load other things and it switches to using drive letters it just is stuck waiting for a response but it can't access the file.
Windows XP does this sometimes when you have another partition. It gets really annoying because when you try to install certain programs that require CDs, those programs don’t like it because it isn’t being installed to C:\
So, what happens if you create a drive for every letter of the alphabet, and then connect an additional flash drive or something? Will it just be invisible?
What windows should do to run Safe Mode would be creating a external partition with VITAL drivers and services and then run them to make the PC functional even if things like THAT happen
