Great job! We might recommend using a smaller mesh for something like this to get more warping, but certainly a very informative tutorial and a great result.
wow if this works that is awesome! So you are saying that we can ATTACH 3d objects to our powermesh data? So after precomposing the element 3d layer and tracking with powermesh we can add 3d objects on to our tracked powermesh. Like we do with images and text?? amazing.
@@3DGraphicsFun yes, if the layer is precomposed (such as your Element 3D layer) then you can add powermesh because the precomp will now be a 2D layer and not a 3D layer. However, if you want to change camera angle or rotate/position 3D model you'll need to go into the precomp layer.
Wow! Cant wait to try that with Element 3d! Iam having a blast with powermesh in AE and now after weeks of investigating I have figured out how to use powermesh in Davinci Resolve with only a few strokes and barely any node work. I will post a tutorial on that. Here is one of my latest post but not Iam excited about more Davinci work and Element 3d work in AE. Thanks again for your help ruclips.net/video/81anQbyJvPo/видео.html
Awesome video, had fun watching this tutorial. My only issue I'm having is the very end where we have to copy the mocha pro fx from the movie scene layer to our masked face layer. After I check on render, my masked layer shows the original background of my face before I masked it and it wont track with the subject in the scene. Any suggestions would help. But no rush or hassle. Thanks!
Hi... Noobie here. first time using Mocha Pro and your video was superb to help me understand how to make my first face swap...But and there's always a but... lol... Once I finished my project.... my face didn't track with the bond clip at all... could be just me and more than likely it will be... I've saved the project now can I go back into the settings and try again or do I have to start all over again for scratch... I believe it could be the Drift part you were saying the number 70, 80, or 90... or something else... your help would be appreciated.
It's most probably an alignment issue. What I would do is for the clip that you will track in Mocha - before you track - clip the in and out point that you'll use and export that file (mp4, mov, etc) and use that rendered/exported file as your tracking shot. It'll keep the tracking data at the beginning of the timeline.
@@cmdelavega Thanks for your reply.. What I've have done is clip the scene from the main clip approx 6 secs and recorded myself clip 6 secs. thinking that should match up, but as I play back myself clip has no tracking just fix to the spot.... I'll try again and let you know the outcome.. many thanks...
Bravo nice video. But is their easy way of faceswap like the way apps work like reface, zao and other. I use reface every day. But it is lower quality. Waiting for your response.
Thanks! For me personally, the Power Mesh was much easier and faster to get the job done. I had so many issues with Lockdown plugin (even the simplest track wasn't locking correctly) and on top of that you need to render out an EXR file that takes a very long time to render.
@@cmdelavega Okay, Thank You. Will keep that in mind. Love your Tutorials! BTW used one of your AE Tip on a Motion Poster I created for a product. Looked good!
Mocha's tracking is built off planar tracking. Another point to mention here is because of the layer and roto system you can use Mocha's mesh to track things that are occluded (imagine if a hand went in front of the actor's face)... and you can use the mesh driven track for roto.
Change the Background you can try rotoscoping. Change to complete different wardrobe, I would try an AI tools such as Stable Diffusion, although it wouldn't be a 100% clean swap.
Wow, this new feature is next level, thanks for sharing hey one thing to ask, can we use an image of anyones face like a png cutout head image instead of using a video?
@@cmdelavega Ok I would love to see a detailed tutorial in this too, m just new to after effects, so i request you to plz upload a detailed tutorial on how to face swap using this new mesh feature. respect 🙌
Not at the moment amigo. If you're looking for comprehensive tutorials on Mocha Pro, I always check out the tuts from Boris FX here on youtube - they're the developers of Mocha.
How can I add a PNG file that has only a Face and not a Video in the video to the video? What operations do I need to apply? You just added video to Video.
Hmm... strange, should be opening in 2021. You can try uninstalling 2020 version to force it to open in 2021. Definitely contact @borisfx - they may have the best solution.
i dont understand why did you duplicate your original video where you talk ?? you didnt use it any way you used it only to check that its stablized you could deleted after that ?
The duplicate copy is where I apply the power mesh and it only contains a masked area of the face. I still need original footage so I can composited both layers to pull off the effect.
When i enable render and select stabilize warp the imagine doesnt move with the video. ( i am trying to replace my face(video) with a different face (image). Nothing works.
I was having similar issues when I moved the clip (before entering Mocha) or I trimmed the work area of the footage (before entering Mocha). If you're leaving the footage exactly how it is, sounds strange. Are you setting up a reference frame after you tracked?
@@cmdelavega I have somehow figured it out. (Not moving the clip after trimming and pre coming the imagine). But now I have massive issues with mesh tracking. For my example i want to replace the entire face so i am doing Uniform mesh with 25-30 speces between poits but the tracking is so ugly and all over the place. Maybe my footage is not HD enough? or should I increase the amount of points in the mesh? I am at my wits end.
Is there anything in front of the face or any light/shadow changes? I had that issue on some shots. When the lighting condition change in the shot, it throws off the tracker. Or when a shadow gets casted on the face, same deal. If those things are not present in the shot, then trying drawing a smaller tracking area, barley over the eyes, mouth and nose. Also try bumping the Min % pixels used all the way up to 90. I would try decreasing the mesh size to 16, 12 or 10. Hope this helps!
Sir please help, i installed mocha pro 2021 seperately but in after effects its showing the older version of mocha and i am using after effects 2021..please help..🙏what to do

To rename any layer on the timeline, select the layer, and hit the 'enter' key.

Give it a shot and see if you like it.
If the face rotate, how to tracking and replacment?
For face rotate, I would try deepfake.
Do you have tutorials if the face is turning? From flat to profile shot?
