One of the best, positive , reviews I've seen of this pen. I've seen so many people pan it because it's "different". Personally I LOVE it, and really want one!
The pen isn't bad in and of itself. People didn't disregarded it because it is different, but because this new "51" is a blatant attempt for Parker to boost sales at a lesser cost : they advertised this pen using the original "51" fame to overprice what appears to be a mere Jotter with a cheaply and sloppily inspired "51" body around it. I think people with high hopes for this new pen wouldn't have minded paying a good price for it and give it a chance if Parker would really have put the effort and means to re-invent an real new 51.
The nib is the awful nib off of the Vector. The cap is a threaded cap, yet the nib dries out because the cap has breather holes. The plastic on it sucks, worse than some of the plastics on 4 dollar Jinhaos. The hood is fake- it doesn't actually hug the nib to stop it from drying out, because again it's just a parker Vector. It's a bad pen, simple as.
I have a metal brushed Parker jotter with brass threads that has the letters R.S.A on the cap where the country of production usually. Does anyone know where it was made please?
@@AsifLiaquat Thank you, another friend explained it was Republic of South Africa, I was struggling to place the 'R' at first. The pens I have from USA 🇺🇸 , France 🇫🇷 and UK 🇬🇧 all have 'Made in' before the country of production however this just has R.S.A on the cap and Parker below the clip. No date code with brass threads with flat button with Parker logo so probably produced in the middle of the 1970`s as the G2 refill rotation pusher is red plastic, not metal. I removed and checked the G2 blue ink insert and it has Bolpen hervul M that Google says Translate.com Dictionaries Afrikaans-English H hervul hervul translated to English as refill. Are all Parker converters compatible with all models? I mean, are for instance old Parker converters from the 90's (i.e. Parker Sonnet) compatible with current 2021 Parker 51? I'm asking because I tried to fit a converter from a 90's Sonnet into a modern 2021's 51 and it looks like I need to push hard (slimmer body on the 51? / thicker diameter on the old converter?), but I didn't to avoid damaging any of both.
@@mauriciolacruz in my case, it's the opposite. I tried a 1960's and a 1990's converter on Parker 45's from those time periods as well. The old converters fit snugly onto the older pens, but are quite loose on new pens to the point it literally rattles. The new converters work just find on both pens though
I've Got this Deluxe Version in Plum and I Really like it I also have Black Steel Cap
Thanks for the comparisons! Really nice to see the previous models :)

Can we get a converter for this chrome version (steel nib)?
As it comes only with a cartridge, can we purchase a converter separately?
@abcd-u7h thank you 🙏

Did you give away your personal color preference by wearing a plum sweater? It's a pretty close match, at least on my monitor!

Yes
From my experience, new converters fit all pens, but old converters fit old pens mostly
@@Merkhalita
Ok. So new converters do actually have slimmer body than the old ones. That's why it's difficult to fit an old converter onto new pens.
