Thanks, Part 2 soon :)
Can you do a sample piece of that repair you showed. I dont understand what you are explaining. About how to move the damage up and how to sew it. Are you sewing the most narrow part to each other and moving the splice up into the part that was removed?
@tnone7873 yes, , the damage is cut out, the cone shape splice is cut , moved up, the top of cone sewn first then one side, then the other. The lentght that it is moved up leaves a slit , that is closed when you sew the second side up.
Try it on paper cut a square out , cut a wedge cone below hole 3 to 4 tumes lenght of what you removed and slide that wedge to top
When you wet stretch the hide after repair the repai basically disappears.
Where do you buy the eez leather?
@@stuntmachine3633 Samuel Bauer Unlimited, furrier supplier you can fin online, but you need to call order in , they are nice
Do you have any imput about older Fers that's dryed out and getting tairs ,would you know how to rehydrate the old Fer so it doesn't tair out,?
Usually small areas can be repaired , but furs do deteroriate, get brittle, dry , will crack, rip, and not much can be done if it gets too old. Sometimes, it's better to retire it and get a new one. You might be able to hand sew the rips and apply an adhesive cloth to the back, or some try duct tape to keep together, but overall, if it's too old, it's time to replace or cut apart and use sections that may be salvageable. Good luck
