Asalamu alaykum I'm a revert who began to cover with niqab from the second year after I converted to Islam at first it was on and of because I used to wear my teacher's niqabs but last year I bought my own niqab for the first time in 15 years and I absolutely love it I feel so uncomfortable when not wearing niqab I don't like when people look at me when I leave the house.
I started wearing hijab in 2017. It was very challenging indeed. It 'goes' against my family beliefs, culture, views. Since then, I have been struggling myself, feeling guilty for the consequences of my actions. I have been embarrassed, left behind, 'abandoned', blamed for making sad others, judged in various aspects by people. I gave myself the benefit of time a trial with it, and back to a trial without it. However people and my beloved family have made me feel ugly and lower as a woman while wearing it. I have felt losing myself and I am not sure how I can find myself again. I am currently at a stage where I cannot even look myself in the mirror. I am proud of being able to wear it and after a long time, I 'mind' less the consequences I deal with because of it. I pray to Allah to give me strength to find myself again, fight all this 'war' surrounding me, and may Allah grant me with a life husband who loves me the way I am and teach me even more.

And I pray that He will change the hearts of the people around you so that they accept and love you just the same with hijab. Don't give into shyataan who is trying to make you feel bad for striving towards Allah. I wish you all the best my sister !

One piece of advice that comes to mind is to try to visit cities or countries with a larger hijabi population and follow hijabi influencers. I also recommend maybe trying new hijab styles , materials, or patterns to try to find one that you feel good in
I started to wear hijab and abaya even before I converted to islam and it was a choice I made for the betterment of myself for the intention of wanting to be a Muslim sister.

24:43 I loved the way she broke this down! 24:59 learning about the female companions of the prophets 🤍🔥 27:08 42:56 “You carry yourself in a certain way with hijab. It’s a comprehensive interaction with people. It’s the way you’re generous with other people and the way you lower your gaze from thoughts.” 43:30 “Train men to wear their hijab, men who are aware of their responsibility in supporting women… all women who are their sisters in humanity.” 49:20 talking about the culture of “this is my truth.”
I started wearing the hijab 10 days ago while on hajj in Medina. Today is my second day as a hijabi in the US. Praying that Allah makes it easy for me.
you are doing the ayah of Allah subhane wa teala, you think abaout the eman of men and othe women my sister, known as muslim woman is a sign to people especially how you want to be treated
The different approaches & examples used by the speakers was very complimentary and helped to look at the issue from different angles. MashaAllah. Beautiful discussion.
masyaallah. jazakallahu khayr. thank you so very much for speaking on this. alhamdulillah i'm so happy to have stumbled upon this talk when i needed it. thank you
I love how the Quran says we wear hijab to “be known and not molested.” And men come and create a reason and say it’s not not attract us….. it’s so damaging!!! It’s to protect the woman. The man has to protect himself. There will always me women who aren’t Muslim so there will never be all women covered to “protect the men.” They just refuse to lower their gaze and blame women.
Asslaam’alaikum. Jazak’Allah khair sisters for this discussion. Marsh’Allah really inspring and encouraging . May Allah Azzwajal reward you and all those who spread the word of Allah. Aameen Ya Rabaul Aalameen. Allahumma Barik
that’s a great discussion and I’m glad it’s done by the two of you being women. I believe being a believer is a choice but once you’re a believer 33:59 tells it without any ambiguity. I am glad one you also said that it’s not about men but it’s for believing women. excellent discussion. Thank you!!
Growing up in Saudi Arabia grew up reading Quran from age 7 to 22 Alhamdullilah. All girls and women schools. Unfortunately it is changing now and we are taking out from the religious curriculums.
A salamualaikom sister, first i want to say jazakhallah khair for this beautiful discussion with Dr Haifaa Younis. I could relate to some of the things you were talking about especially the struggle with putting on hijab and keeping it on. Alhamdulilah by Allah swt’s grace i managed to put it on on the 29.11.20. This was after many external struggles with my family, since i am a revert. I now have waswasa about the fear of taking it off because it took so much to put it on in the first place & so i don’t want to feel like i’ve lost again. What do you suggest i do regarding this and how can i grow my love for hijab & the deen. Jazakhallah khair, lots of love 🌸🌸🌸💗
The answer is in dr. Hayfa said about that at last minute of this discussion: it is in the Quran , Allah swt said (those who struggle for the sake of Allah , Allah will guide them to His path. ) May Allah swt guide us all to His straight path. Ameen. So my sister in Islam, go straight forward in the way of Allah, and don't listen to Satan voice. And be connected with the people who encourage you to be steadfast and don't forget to pray and ask Allah while prostrating at night and in specific before Fagr prayer. May Allah preserve you and guide you.
Salem Alikoum I have been blessed by wearing Hijab after my husband passed away leaving me two sons 2 years and 6 months Allah gave me strengh and faith I was so happy for 8 years and I refused to take it off and stayed at home with my sons but I felt so weak started to work in a school and in France we have not the right to wear Hijab at work First I was only working without hijab and then little by little I took it off because i was in anthor environment new colleagues new friends any way I started getting away from Allah path and could not even do dikhr read Quran because I was ashamed! Until I got attacked by an evil jin and I found only Allah to rescue me😢 Today I am trying my best to return to Allah Please please make Douaa for me May Allah bless you
Back in the day of the prophet wearing a beard and a head covering wasn't classed as a VERY BIG STATEMENT so beginners in piety and those who had travelled the path of piety much longer all wore the beard and headscarf it was a norm but in today's society because of the labelling and statement essence of what we wear is more common and concentrated sisters and brothers take the beard and scarf as the final statement of piety which they adorn when they feel as individuals ready and crossed certain thresholds within their own spirituality...
Subhanallah I’m shocked with soem of the negative comments here Those who get all annoyed Instead of trying to understand the hukm of Allah Subhanallah Alhamdulillah I never ever thought about those who wore it without a problem of struggle with them selves This is the best selves
It has never been a challenge for me. Alhamdulillah. I have loved it from the beginning. Even before required, I enjoyed covering. Alhamdulillah. For one of my daughters, easy the other, not. Reminder, we have a choice. It can either be to please Allah (SWT,) Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or yourself, and yourself, which is usually pleasing those who worship, not respect beauty.
I’m glad women discussing the hijab. We’ve always had men telling us about hijab. I would also like you all to didcuss muslim women versus other women like in weating make up snd looking beautiful and muslim men even though they talk about muslim women wear the hijab kind of a slogan. Are they going to make muslim women beautiful instead of endlessly comparing them to artificially made up and plastic surgery.
The problem is that I do not fast, no one sees me, but when I choose not to wear the hejab , there are those who will see me and imitate me, and thus I will bear the guilt of those who imitate me
Ppl will still harrase u or stare at u when u wear hijab even more than when u don’t wear it. That’s not even the point of hijab idk even know why ppl would wear it for that dumb reason. Hijab is a spiritual thing its a spiritual connection to Allah and a spiritual protection
@@hvkhbojnlinlubobilib3220 how is it spiritual protection? and yes people may still stare at you if you wear hijab, but they will do far less than if you were to not wear hijab. also, if a man sees you wearing hijab, he'll know you're muslim and will much less likely approach you.
I personally don't think that's true at all. Unless you are some influencer with hijab who is portraying hijab for millions of viewers around the word, and you have made yourself a reference and model for all these people by giving advice an all that, that's when you should be worried about other imitating you and your responsability towards them. But since you are just an anonymous person, then don't worry too much about that. Like if I see a Muslim drinking alcohol in the street and I go do the same as a Muslim, the burden is on me, is my fault, my personal decision, my sin. Instead of using this as barrier for you to use hijab, worry about improving for Allah subhanah wa taalah :) Ramadan Mubarak Kareem!
Alhamdulillah ♥️ جزاك اللهُ خيرًا A truly inspirational lecture. Allah the most merciful forgive me and bless me to wear the correct Islamic dress ….. hijab /kimar according to the sunnah ﷺ ♥️😢Aameen 🤲🏻
My wife said. my dear husband! my hijab is your honor, she looks amazingly beautiful, I am very proud of my wife, next to me, that I am having her, on my side, on the street
If this what I will say will help, I want to add something to this wonderful talk of my favorite sister the most respected Haifaa Younis. Jazak Allah Khair! With my head covered I feel protected, literally protected, and the minute I uncover it I feel as if I were naked.
Sister Maryam, a slight clarification please. I see when you talk about hijab you use the term protection in terms of protection vis-a-vis men. When I use the term protection I don't have men specifically in mind. For me the cover for the head is like protection, metaphorically and symbolically as well as literally, against the ills of the world, the evil people, the jinns and bad energies, therefore it is like my shield to protect me.
@@blackpearl8574 yes exactly. The hijab is a SPIRITUAL protection because hair is energy and its connected to the soul it is very sacred. Hijab is also a spiritual connection to Allah because it helps with the crown chakra thats why its important to wear it while praying
Assalamualaikum sister. I really wanted to wear a hijab, but when I come at work, I have to remove it. So there's no point. I hope they will accept it one day at work. But I really enjoyed the conversation you had. Thank you for everything. God bless you and your family. Ameen 🤲❤️
Is it possible to share the link of this articles Maryam said about the names of Allah? I've been re-learning Quran in the past 1 year after I turn my back away from Allah after my mom passed away. I feel the connection that I never ever felt before, and there's urge in me to wear moderate clothes, and hijab if possible. It will be great if someone can share me the article/website. Thankyou so much.
Salam Aleykum dear sheikha, I have a sister who is convinced that the hijab is not an obligation. She gained her information from Mohamed Assad. It was a Jewish convert who wrote a translation and tafseer of the Quran. And he claims that back in the times of the prophet the women did not use to cover their hair. It came way later with the Ottoman Empire. What can I tell her to convince her? Jazaki Allahu khayran. Oh I just saw that it is sister Maryams channel. But maybe you can also help me
this is complete bogus the women in the times of jahillayah used to wear a khimar what we call a headscraf but they used to throw it behind their backs meaning they would cover their hair but expose their neck and upper chest area after the verses of hijab was reveled they not only covered their necks and upper chest but their faces as well they became niqabs after islam this is a historical fact. the hijab is an obligation upon every muslim women after puberty it is by the absolute consensus of all Muslim scholars i mean the Quran and sunnah is not ambiguous about it it's as clear as day. you need to bring your sister back from such a fitna the scholars say that denying that the hijab is wajib is kufr it could make your sister a kafir so try your best as for this soo called jewish revert then im telling you he's a complete jahil even before the ottomans during the umayyds and abssaids islamic empires hijab was mandatory by law. because they were ruled by shariah.
How to explain non muslims about hijab ? Its such a struggle. I am not good at debate but everytime I get asked I feel the responsibility to put forward a clear answer in the hope that they might realise the truth . Plesse help
Assalamu a3laykum, I think that we often try to find ways to explain islamic concepts by using images that people will get as non-muslims, but it's better to educate ourselves clearly on why exactly for example we wear hijab and say it clearly. For example, in this video at 12:00, Dr Haifa Yunis clearly references 2 ayas in the Quran where Allah SWT mentions how women should dress and why, and this is the perfect explanation. There is no need for debate, because the Quran is clear and the Hadiths help us understand it better. If we know our religion, we will know how to answer people's questions insha'Allah, but it's important to make the effort to know why we do what we do!
im struggling a lot with my hijab. i started wearing hijab because my parents forced me to. until now, i always feel like hijab doesnt belong to me, i put it on and off bcs i feel like it limit my self honestly, ya Allah pls forgive me😢 but i know im obligated to wear it. i always feel uncomfortable, insecure, unconfidence and looks ugly when i wear it, so i put it on and off. but regardless im trying to force myself to love it. i believe i will eventually can properly wear it. i wish to find the comfort and joy in wearing hijab.
May Allah make it easy for you, my sister. Remember that you are wearing it to please and obey Allah. I'm 100% sure that you are beautiful from the inside just as you are on the outside. Big hug to my dear sister and may Allah reward you for all of your efforts.💚💚💚

I know I was born Muslim however not into a muslim family... it's very hard sometimes lately its deadly so I'm not wearing it....Allah knows 😢for me this is heartbreaking 💔 My circumstances are what they are for now....in sha Allah that changes REAL SOON In a hostial environment Allah knows Best ....he knows my heart....
Headcover is not an obligation. There is nowhere in the quran tells women to cover their head or hair. On contrary, it defines "normally exposed areas" in another ayat (5:6) : “O believers! When you stand up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles…” These are the body parts “normally appears” for men and women both, includes the head supposed to be exposed for both men and women. As a muslim women born into muslim family, no women in my family practices the hijab. Read quran, it is not very hard to understand, but be careful about parenthesized words, those are man-made additions and double check them!
Genuine question, why is there such strict rule to cover every single hair? Why wasn’t the hair specifically mentioned? Also why isn’t there any punishment mentioned for women who show their hair or their head?? The definition of Khimar is cover not head cover. I’m having trouble with the translation turning into head cover simply because she mentions the relation to alcohol, this doesn’t seem to be clear and I don’t believe the Allah Azawajel would be so vague about such a commandment if it is truly obligatory!
The context of dress cord of islam is far better than any other dresses because of somewhere is giving high dignitaries for wearing in islamic dresses to be despite others this is only i saw vested by muslim girls it is more conscious may have better dealing how to live without any fear this are only core intensively mentioned by Qur'an

Beautiful and excellent conversation
Beautiful, Alhumdiallah sisters. This topic is so important and amazing.
"Don't sell your akhira for dunya" powerful...
Love all these lectures.
Beautiful lecture of islam teachings Salaam
I have never seen or heard such a mind-blowing speech from my dear Muslim sisters
Be your best self that will be pleasing to Allah. AMEEN YAA RABB
masyaallah. jazakallahu khayr. thank you so very much for speaking on this. alhamdulillah i'm so happy to have stumbled upon this talk when i needed it. thank you
I love how the Quran says we wear hijab to “be known and not molested.” And men come and create a reason and say it’s not not attract us….. it’s so damaging!!! It’s to protect the woman. The man has to protect himself. There will always me women who aren’t Muslim so there will never be all women covered to “protect the men.” They just refuse to lower their gaze and blame women.
Yeah, they have to protect themselves by lowering their gaze, hijab is for women to be protected

Thank you!!
Machae ALLAH. I am very jealous of your valuable information ,thank you ,GOD bless you.👍❤️
Growing up in Saudi Arabia grew up reading Quran from age 7 to 22 Alhamdullilah. All girls and women schools. Unfortunately it is changing now and we are taking out from the religious curriculums.
May Allah bless you both and may you both live long 🤲

May Allah bless those who wear a hijab and for those who don't.It's a personal choice.
Everything is a personal choice in that we can decide whether we are going to do it or not.

I have been blessed by wearing Hijab after my husband passed away leaving me two sons 2 years and 6 months Allah gave me strengh and faith I was so happy for 8 years and I refused to take it off and stayed at home with my sons but I felt so weak started to work in a school and in France we have not the right to wear Hijab at work
First I was only working without hijab and then little by little I took it off because i was in anthor environment new colleagues new friends any way I started getting away from Allah path and could not even do dikhr read Quran because I was ashamed!
Until I got attacked by an evil jin and I found only Allah to rescue me😢
Today I am trying my best to return to Allah
Please please make Douaa for me
May Allah bless you
Back in the day of the prophet wearing a beard and a head covering wasn't classed as a VERY BIG STATEMENT so beginners in piety and those who had travelled the path of piety much longer all wore the beard and headscarf it was a norm but in today's society because of the labelling and statement essence of what we wear is more common and concentrated sisters and brothers take the beard and scarf as the final statement of piety which they adorn when they feel as individuals ready and crossed certain thresholds within their own spirituality...
Beautiful conversation
Subhanallah I’m shocked with soem of the negative comments here
Those who get all annoyed
Instead of trying to understand the hukm of Allah
Subhanallah
Alhamdulillah
I never ever thought about those who wore it without a problem of struggle with them selves
This is the best selves
It has never been a challenge for me. Alhamdulillah. I have loved it from the beginning. Even before required, I enjoyed covering. Alhamdulillah. For one of my daughters, easy the other, not. Reminder, we have a choice. It can either be to please Allah (SWT,) Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or yourself, and yourself, which is usually pleasing those who worship, not respect beauty.
Thank you for doing this
La ilaha illa Allah , Muhammad-un rasulu-الله ( ssala Allah-u 'aylahi wa ssalam )
Amazing Video !
Alhamdulillah ♥️ جزاك اللهُ خيرًا
A truly inspirational lecture.
Allah the most merciful forgive me and bless me to wear the correct Islamic dress …..
hijab /kimar according to the sunnah ﷺ

My wife said. my dear husband! my hijab is your honor, she looks amazingly beautiful, I am very proud of my wife, next to me, that I am having her, on my side, on the street
Salaams Dr, I am am a revertie to Islam and I need to understand the significance to Islam of the hijab since my late mother never wore it
If this what I will say will help, I want to add something to this wonderful talk of my favorite sister the most respected Haifaa Younis.
@@hvkhbojnlinlubobilib3220 Beautifully said, thank you💖!

“ Are you the believing woman “
That’s the verse for me too.
Have so many of my muslim “free hair” continue to hound me about me wearing hijab .
Excellent
Barak Allahu feekum!
Ma sha Allah ❤
Oh God, make Muslim girls love the hijab and the Sunnah
Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi , Subhan Allah Al 'Adim
masha allah jazaka allah sisters
Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi 'adada khalqih wa rida nafsihi wa zinata 'arshih wa midada kalimatih
im struggling a lot with my hijab. i started wearing hijab because my parents forced me to. until now, i always feel like hijab doesnt belong to me, i put it on and off bcs i feel like it limit my self honestly, ya Allah pls forgive me😢 but i know im obligated to wear it. i always feel uncomfortable, insecure, unconfidence and looks ugly when i wear it, so i put it on and off. but regardless im trying to force myself to love it. i believe i will eventually can properly wear it. i wish to find the comfort and joy in wearing hijab.
May Allah make it easy for you, my sister. Remember that you are wearing it to please and obey Allah. I'm 100% sure that you are beautiful from the inside just as you are on the outside. Big hug to my dear sister and may Allah reward you for all of your efforts.💚💚💚
@@marwa1698 ameeen, my simple wish is just to have comfort and pride in my hijab. Sometimes i feel jealous to any other women who dont have struggle in their mind and have pride in their hijab. I wish Allah can make it easy for me too

JazakAllah khair
Love you my dear sisters for this inspirational talk.
Please share your views on nikaab as an obligation
Its not choice of man to be disobedient or obedient to Allah in affairs of hijab its the tofeeq from Allah
Does the hijab need to cover the face?
I have on and off covered myself since I was
a child .... I know I was born Muslim however not into a muslim family... it's very hard sometimes lately its deadly so I'm not wearing it....Allah knows 😢for me this is heartbreaking 💔
My circumstances are what they are for now....in sha Allah that changes REAL SOON
In a hostial environment Allah knows Best ....he knows my heart....
Ma sha Allah
Genuine question, why is there such strict rule to cover every single hair? Why wasn’t the hair specifically mentioned? Also why isn’t there any punishment mentioned for women who show their hair or their head??
The definition of Khimar is cover not head cover. I’m having trouble with the translation turning into head cover simply because she mentions the relation to alcohol, this doesn’t seem to be clear and I don’t believe the Allah Azawajel would be so vague about such a commandment if it is truly obligatory!
I have another video addressing much of this. I hope it helps! m.ruclips.net/video/MR8JhHIfgrU/видео.html
