I started wearing hijab in 2017. It was very challenging indeed. It 'goes' against my family beliefs, culture, views. Since then, I have been struggling myself, feeling guilty for the consequences of my actions. I have been embarrassed, left behind, 'abandoned', blamed for making sad others, judged in various aspects by people. I gave myself the benefit of time a trial with it, and back to a trial without it. However people and my beloved family have made me feel ugly and lower as a woman while wearing it. I have felt losing myself and I am not sure how I can find myself again. I am currently at a stage where I cannot even look myself in the mirror. I am proud of being able to wear it and after a long time, I 'mind' less the consequences I deal with because of it. I pray to Allah to give me strength to find myself again, fight all this 'war' surrounding me, and may Allah grant me with a life husband who loves me the way I am and teach me even more.

Salam sister I hope you have been doing well , I admire your presence with the hijab and ask god to be blessed with the same strength . One piece of advice that comes to mind is to try to visit cities or countries with a larger hijabi population and follow hijabi influencers. Seeing the hijab be celebrated and honored, as the many many communities do, will help instill love the hijab. I also recommend maybe trying new hijab styles , materials, or patterns to try to find one that you feel good in

The man has to protect himself. There will always me women who aren’t Muslim so there will never be all women covered to “protect the men.” They just refuse to lower their gaze and blame women.

I could relate to some of the things you were talking about especially the struggle with putting on hijab and keeping it on. Alhamdulilah by Allah swt’s grace i managed to put it on on the 29.11.20. This was after many external struggles with my family, since i am a revert. I now have waswasa about the fear of taking it off because it took so much to put it on in the first place & so i don’t want to feel like i’ve lost again. What do you suggest i do regarding this and how can i grow my love for hijab & the deen. Jazakhallah khair, lots of love 🌸🌸🌸💗

The answer is in dr. Hayfa said about that at last minute of this discussion: it is in the Quran , Allah swt said (those who struggle for the sake of Allah , Allah will guide them to His path. ) May Allah swt guide us all to His straight path. Ameen. So my sister in Islam, go straight forward in the way of Allah, and don't listen to Satan voice. And be connected with the people who encourage you to be steadfast and don't forget to pray and ask Allah while prostrating at night and in specific before Fagr prayer. May Allah preserve you and guide you.

I have been blessed by wearing Hijab after my husband passed away leaving me two sons 2 years and 6 months Allah gave me strengh and faith I was so happy for 8 years and I refused to take it off and stayed at home with my sons but I felt so weak started to work in a school and in France we have not the right to wear Hijab at work
First I was only working without hijab and then little by little I took it off because i was in anthor environment new colleagues new friends any way I started getting away from Allah path and could not even do dikhr read Quran because I was ashamed!
Until I got attacked by an evil jin and I found only Allah to rescue me😢
Today I am trying my best to return to Allah
Please please make Douaa for me
    May Allah bless you

Back in the day of the prophet wearing a beard and a head covering wasn't classed as a VERY BIG STATEMENT so beginners in piety and those who had travelled the path of piety much longer all wore the beard and headscarf it was a norm but in today's society because of the labelling and statement essence of what we wear is more common and concentrated sisters and brothers take the beard and scarf as the final statement of piety which they adorn when they feel as individuals ready and crossed certain thresholds within their own spirituality...

Reminder, we have a choice. It can either be to please Allah (SWT,) Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or yourself, and yourself, which is usually pleasing those who worship, not respect beauty.

I would also like you all to didcuss muslim women versus other women like in weating make up snd looking beautiful and muslim men even though they talk about muslim women wear the hijab kind of a slogan. Are they going to make muslim women beautiful instead of endlessly comparing them to artificially made up and plastic surgery.

I personally don't think that's true at all. Unless you are some influencer with hijab who is portraying hijab for millions of viewers around the word, and you have made yourself a reference and model for all these people by giving advice an all that, that's when you should be worried about other imitating you and your responsability towards them. But since you are just an anonymous person, then don't worry too much about that. Like if I see a Muslim drinking alcohol in the street and I go do the same as a Muslim, the burden is on me, is my fault, my personal decision, my sin. Instead of using this as barrier for you to use hijab, worry about improving for Allah subhanah wa taalah :) Ramadan Mubarak Kareem!

Sister Maryam, a slight clarification please. I see when you talk about hijab you use the term protection in terms of protection vis-a-vis men. When I use the term protection I don't have men specifically in mind. For me the cover for the head is like protection, metaphorically and symbolically as well as literally, against the ills of the world, the evil people, the jinns and bad energies, therefore it is like my shield to protect me.

Salam Aleykum dear sheikha, I have a sister who is convinced that the hijab is not an obligation. She gained her information from Mohamed Assad. It was a Jewish convert who wrote a translation and tafseer of the Quran. And he claims that back in the times of the prophet the women did not use to cover their hair. It came way later with the Ottoman Empire. What can I tell her to convince her? Jazaki Allahu khayran.

this is complete bogus the women in the times of jahillayah used to wear a khimar what we call a headscraf but they used to throw it behind their backs meaning they would cover their hair but expose their neck and upper chest area after the verses of hijab was reveled they not only covered their necks and upper chest but their faces as well they became niqabs after islam this is a historical fact. the hijab is an obligation upon every muslim women after puberty it is by the absolute consensus of all Muslim scholars i mean the Quran and sunnah is not ambiguous about it it's as clear as day. you need to bring your sister back from such a fitna the scholars say that denying that the hijab is wajib is kufr it could make your sister a kafir so try your best as for this soo called jewish revert then im telling you he's a complete jahil even before the ottomans during the umayyds and abssaids islamic empires hijab was mandatory by law.
because they were ruled by shariah.

    • @mel7510
      @mel7510 4 месяца назад

Assalamu a3laykum, I think that we often try to find ways to explain islamic concepts by using images that people will get as non-muslims, but it's better to educate ourselves clearly on why exactly for example we wear hijab and say it clearly. For example, in this video at 12:00, Dr Haifa Yunis clearly references 2 ayas in the Quran where Allah SWT mentions how women should dress and why, and this is the perfect explanation.
There is no need for debate, because the Quran is clear and the Hadiths help us understand it better. If we know our religion, we will know how to answer people's questions insha'Allah, but it's important to make the effort to know why we do what we do!

Headcover is not an obligation. There is nowhere in the quran tells women to cover their head or hair. On contrary, it defines "normally exposed areas" in another ayat (5:6) : “O believers! When you stand up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, wipe your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles…” These are the body parts “normally appears” for men and women both, includes the head supposed to be exposed for both men and women. As a muslim women born into muslim family, no women in my family practices the hijab. Read quran, it is not very hard to understand, but be careful about parenthesized words, those are man-made additions and double check them!

Genuine question, why is there such strict rule to cover every single hair? Why wasn’t the hair specifically mentioned? Also why isn’t there any punishment mentioned for women who show their hair or their head??
The definition of Khimar is cover not head cover. I’m having trouble with the translation turning into head cover simply because she mentions the relation to alcohol, this doesn’t seem to be clear and I don’t believe the Allah Azawajel would be so vague about such a commandment if it is truly obligatory!
