I think she might have been the most uncomfortable of all the cows I've seen on this channel. She really needed help. It's not as if her hoof was a bloody mess, either; she just desperately needed to have the pressure from the white line relieved and her claw to be reshaped to correct the corkscrew. This really shows how important the ergonomics of the hoof are for the cow's comfort. Good job, Nate!
The biggest reason I prefer to watch Nate over other hoof trimmers is the consistent way he is as gentle as possible while fixing issues and relieving pain. This video is a prime example of that. Carefully revealing the problem a thin layer at a time, not yanking or pulling on a sore hoof with any more force than is absolutely required, and setting a cow up to leave the chute substantially more comfortable than when she entered it. Thanks, Nate, for all you do! It’s great to see this kind of careful and professional animal husbandry.
@@ChicagoMel23I don’t enjoy Hoof GP. He’s so rough on the cows; that’s why I appreciate Nate so much. He’s so careful in his care. Hood GP is like a bulldozer on steroids with the way he carves off hoof sole with his knife. I just don’t enjoy his channel.
@mattieflap they both do the exact same thing. I don't understand why people feel the need to insult and defame one person to show support to another. If you don't like hoof gp, just be honest. No need to lie.
@@rural4174I am not sure why you feel the person you responded to is lying. A year ago or more, when I first found Nate's channel, I got recommended to the Hoof GP. At the time I saw his videos, each one showed aggressive knife work. Along with cutting into the soft tissue with moderate to heavy bleeding. Can this happen, yes. But, Nate goes more carefully as he reaches the disturbance and any bleeding is very minor. I do not think it is defamation to state the truth of what I saw. I get that they are trimming hundreds of cows a day. But that is no excuse to be so aggressive. Perhaps Hoof GP has toned down his knife work, but I have no intention of risking to watch the aggressiveness again. One and done, for me, when it is the care of animals.
I think this was one of my favorite episodes ever. To see an animal in such pain be made pain free in a matter of minutes by Nate’s caring, kind, and knowledgeable expertise and skill made my day. Thank you.
I am so grateful you were there on that day and completely took her pain away. Can you imagine having to be standing so much and having a painful foot like this? God bless you, Nate. Your skills are so important to the cows and all of us who LOVE THEM!
I went through a recent period of plantar fasciitus in both heels while working a very physical job on concrete floors. I can tell you it isn't something you want to try
@@jwolfe1209I’ve never had one myself, but I’ve heard that they are something fierce to deal with until they are dealt with. Hopefully they are healed up or getting there. I’ll give a prayer for you to be well soon. May God bless you and your family. 🙏🦶
Seeing the cow coming out of the crush is always my favorite part of the video. Videos like this, where the cow goes from obvious pain to surprised relief - that is the good stuff every time!
That's one of the clearest, if not the clearest, improvement from pre to post trim I've seen. Stellar work as always Nate, keep these ladies healthy and continue to show us your interesting cases.
Great job! It's so nice to see how compassionate you are with all your cows and how you give them so much pain relief. I'm sure when she turned and looked at you, she was saying thanks for helping her. You're a great person, Nate! 💛
I never thought one day I would end up being a fan of hoof trimming of all things. But I must say I really do enjoy watching a proficient trimmer do their thing. One of the best parts of these is when the cow exists the chute and the hoof is much better. They pause and turn around looking back at the trimmer, almost as if they are giving them a nod for a job well done. I love it. It gets me every time.
Thank you for putting out this videos. I am a hard working father of four sons. I enjoy your videos as a great stress reliefs after a day full of meetings, power point painting and pushing excel cells. Your calm and careful approach to deal with the cows problems is really relaxing to watch.
Before watching videos like yours, I admittedly looked down on the farming industry. However, upon seeing the care that is given to these creatures by people like yourself, I have developed an appreciation and fondness for the people who remove their pain and discomfort. Kudos.
I feel like a majority of people are never quite certain if they’re doing what they were put here to do. I have a feeling you don’t have that issue. Thank you for making the difference that you do. 🙂
I know all the other comments are saying essentially the same thing, but it really does blow me away just how relief you brought her! And only by removing as much hoof as you needed to to get the job done. You really do have this down to a science and it's so interesting to watch you at work. Cheers!
What an amazing job you did for that cow!!! I’m sure She could, she would have given you a great big hug!!! Really glad there are people like you in this world to help out those poor animals…. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gosh, the way she was walking at the start, didn't fill me with joy, certainly is a very rewarding job, no pain for her at the end, another happy Nate customer, excellent job, love your channel, take care Nate.👍💙🐄
Listening to you describe what you are doing with your knife work just show how much you care for these animals. You are a true master of your profession. Amazing job as always. Love your videos and content.👍🐄🐮
Your experience and expertise must be so appreciated by the farmers and their cattle. Keep doing the wonderful work with these precious creatures, Nate. Loving the footage as always!! 🇦🇺🙏😊
Nate. Always a great video. Agreed with all the other comments. One of the best feel good videos, helping the cows. The relief she got after the trim was awesome ❤
I don’t know why I love watching these videos. I’m no farmer. But watching these ladies feel a lot better at the end is just so satisfying. Sweet cow girls. ❤️
I think this would be my favorite episode 💕 I work in healthcare and my mind jumped to pressure sores as I started watching the video. I was proven right at ths 5:00 mark! The immediate satisfaction watching the cow walk happily right after must have felt so good 🎉 great job as always!

Pain free. Tail wagging. What better result could there be. So well done, Nate. We love these cows and its such a pleasure to see how much you love them too!! 🎉🎉

How can you tell the difference between dark spots where material is trapped under the surface of the hoof, vs the natural pigmented dark spots in a hoof? Like in this one the dark mark in the middle of the claw, im assuming this time is just some pigment, but it looks awfully suspicious. Is it easier to tell the difference in person vs on camera? Love from michigan ❤
I always love it when they limp away, realise it isn’t actually hurting, and then start walking normally :)
I agree with you 100%. That is always amazing to see.
