"'Awakening' means that the intrinsic reality of the mind [as suchness] is free from conceiving. To be free from the characteristics of conceiving is to be identical to the realm of space: it is to be all-pervasive." from The Treatise on Awakening Mahayana Faith (1.2.1)
This was a helpful discussion. Eye opening in what Bachelard is implicating with the idea of space. It reminds me of the Taoist ground of being in presence/absence. Any thoughts on doing an episode on Bachelard’s Psychoanalysis of Fire?
1:05:18 it looks like you're trying to paint metaphysics on space. Sorta like how our visual system "paints" "color" onto our visual field. This "color" exists only in your mind, but you can recreate it *with* your mind, and you can't kill the Cartesian Demon, but this recreation of your "qualia" should be enough to recreate a similar qualia in most observers, right?
I feel like this guy had a lot figured out! Excited to carry on his work! 😁

Great discussion. Not cheesey at all. I recommend.
Perhaps Henri Lefebvre and The Production of Space would be an interesting sequel?

Isn't "dynamic" kind of an equivalent word to dialectic in some sense?
