Not only am I coming over from car games, I'm coming over from F1 games, where braking zones are short and fast. This is going to take me forever to learn. Especially since there are two brake buttons.
@@DrAce46 just finished time trial and a race at Jerez. Tried to put all of your advices in my game and i must say, all of them work !! From 1.45 my time went to 1.42 ( not much of a great record i know ) but it was the first time i didn't look like a drunk rider!
The “J” or a tick and the reverse “J” or a tick movement on the left analog stick which represents the rider’s body position towards a turn is so underestimated.. it tremendously helped me play the game much much better.. it’s amazing that the simple logic of raising and placing the body backwards to help braking, reduce stoppies, then followed by pushing the body forward towards the exit so the bike doesn’t do a wheelie.. makes a whole lot of difference.. From rookie settings to now competitive.. mind blowing. Thank you so much!! “It’s all about body positioning “ - Marc Marquez and every other motogp riders..
The trail braking is definitely more forgiving on GP23 compared to GP22 😀 Generally feels quite nice to handle on GP23, but the AI is definitely insane at 120%, especially in practice and qualifying. On Mugello, they get into the high 1:43's, whereas on GP22 they were on low 1:44's at most. During the race, it's like dealing with 20 Marc Marquez's barging into you and pushing you aside😂
Thank you for these useful tips Doc! This definetly isn't like MotoGP 22, as mentioned in the video about downshifting to 1st abruptly. I was having initial trouble with the braking, cornering and exit speed cuz on exiting out of the corner, we need to be gentle with the throttle or else the bike doesn't lift out of the corner, but this vid clarified all my doubts, will have to put in some time on the track more... Thank you once again. 🔥❤
Initial braking should be light, quick progression to max brake while straight up, just before starting the lean start easing off the brake so the forks extend and the bike turns. Try to get off the brake to roll through the corner then easy throttle application out of the corner.
This helped me very very slightly, im doing better than the first few laps i did when I tried not using rookie (letting the game play itself) difficultly, but i still cant even manage a simple turn that is any sharper than a complete straight line. Im over here playing gmod with motorcycles instead of a racing game. I honestly dont think ill get used to this with having been used to car games instead, at the very least, maybe it'll be years before i can even make 1 valid lap time
If you're in career mode just pick a independent generic team, use the assists features through maybe two seasons and gradually turn off each assist one at a time I promise you'll be riding like a pro frfr.
I am a fool for thinking watching your videos was going to make me enjoy this game. I take total responsibility for my choice to purchase this game, but your videos are so good, I am so stupid for buying his game. I have been trying so hard to just complete a lap and to come anywhere close to doing that, I have to wobble my way around the track and focus while going slow to make sure I don't fall and I still do. You're good because you probably have years of experience. Most people who play video games are not expecting to take years just to learn how to complete a practice lap. I am baffled how you turn corners at a steady pace. I watched all of your videos on breaking and do the same thing you are doing with the analog stick and can not come anywhere close to improving my cornering. MotoGP is not a game and I believe that's where people like me get caught in the hype. I guess I will just enjoy Moto GP through watching your videos because there is no way I will ever come close to enjoying this game for myself.

I swear everything is difficult… I’m more used to like Gran Turismo that kind of thing, so sometimes I use full brake, sometimes I don’t, but the real thing I struggle with is the front and rear brake. Also with the racing line, turn in and braking timing, also the application of the throttle. It seems like the bike loves to understeer whenever I apply a little bit of throttle. Then the bike stands up and I understeer out of the corner. Also in mid corner I press a little bit of front brake and always lowsides.
Yeah bike games are much different to car games. There’s a learning curve for braking and turning earlier than you do with cars. To avoid the understeer you have to use such a small amount of throttle. I found reducing the traction controls also helps with that pick up effect
@@DrAce46 I realised that as well just now, like, I’m literally playing the game rn. I found it quite hard to control the lean angle on corner entries, not sure if it’s about throttle or just more precise on the left analog stick… Also trail braking works like a charm with rear braking when the front brake is like 99% used. Maybe the game doesn’t lock the front tire up before you hit 100%?

One of the things I watched you do, but you failed to mention, is pulling down on the L stick (or down and the direction of the turn) when you're braking first into the turn. How important is that thumb maneuver?
It’s not absolutely necessary but I feel it helps me steady the analogue stick. I’ve always done that as well to put the weight into the rear of the bike. I usually mention it in my guides but I must have missed it this time around
You can still effectively brake without the use of the rear brake, if anything it's better this way as the game doesn't overuse the rear brake. Most players actually improved by not using the joint brake feature hence it's removal. It might sound odd but the joint brakes did more harm than good.

Steering & brake assists enabled, throttle moderate and I still fuckin cant win a single race.
Give it time mate, it does need some practice to get the hang of it
What does RHD do?
Lowers the height of the bike to reduce wheelie. it slows you down however
Not played since motogp 2018 its like a while different game
can you do a tutorial for keyboard
I don’t use keyboard sorry
Keyboard on this is brave
@@squidge46 i have been doing it on keyboard since ride 3
@@DrAce46 its okay man
how to not lock on brake's when you use a keybord ?.....
I don’t believe it’s possible. I would recommend using a controller
I've noticed you dont use the rear brake much at all...
I use it quite a lot, every hard braking corner it’s used guaranteed…
was holding the joystick forwards only for cars and now i have to throw that away
You could disable the input but the problem is you won’t be able to push forwards to stop the wheelie out of corners
I’m so annoyed with this game
I just bought the game, and right now I'm in moto2class,and I love it so far.I picked shorter seasson and realized I Evn can pick maps that I want to race(so good). For now driving is super good and mutch easyer then motogp22.Evn track like Portimao was no problem, that was relief. But it's moto2 we will se how will be when I get to MotoGP class.
Corners just keeping the glass to not lose speed and on exit slowing accelerate. And I realised if you go in the corner and in order to hit it and for example -you do left middle left midle rapidly with analog stick, the bike will start to shake and you will probably fall.Just smooth driving and ita super good for now.
this is the worst series i have ever played man
@@Acarr_12it’s sim racing 😭💀if you don’t like this, my advice is never get on a bike.
@@zandergrahamg4032 man, i play motogp 22 and it's better than motogp 23
Worse motogp game if you decide to play without assistances. Nearly unplayable
it is quite realistic actually, take your time and learn it, it feels amazing when you get the hang of it
