This video, I teamed up with my rival, Daquavis, in a new #MinecraftManhunt challenge. We have to speedrun and beat Minecraft against two hunters, but we swap who is playing every minute! It was hilarious and super intense.

In this challenge Daquavis and I essentially are one player. We share an inventory, health, position, and basically everything else. The idea is that we are swapping who has control of one player. When we are swapped out, we don't know what is happening at all. We see a black screen and hear nothing.
This video was inspired by a similar challenge, without hunters, posted here: • Speedrunning Minecraft...
This was played on Minecraft 1.21.8, and is a custom coded challenge. There were a few bugs that we plan to iron out before we try something like this again!

i know they usually try to keep visual settings consistent between players, but having such a dramatic difference between how the game looked for dream and daquavis was actually helpful as a viewer. it made it super easy to tell at a glance who was playing at any given moment without having to look away from the action to check any kind of onscreen UI. not sure if this was done intentionally or if it was a happy accident, but nice either way!

If they ever do this again, I think it could be even more interesting if instead of a minute per swap, it was a random amount of time every time per swap to make it more unpredictable.

This makes me so impressed in how different their skillsets are. Daquavis is an amazing minecraft player but you can see in this video that he lacks the experience Dream has when it comes to specifically manhunt. The quickthinking of Dream, making shears out of the iron is one example of this. It makes me realise just how hard manhunt really is 'cause it requires a completely different skillset

It's not that it's hard, it's that there's a lot to learn. It's like when you get into a new video game and you aren't the best because you don't fully understand it yet. Ofc manhunt is still hard tho, it's just not the main divider. You could be the most skilled player in the world but be massively held back by bot knowing a few things.

I'd love to see a top runner (probably Feinberg, because he also has PVP chops and diverse skill set thanks to AA) do this with dream. Although, uh, as a former mcsr leaderboard mod Fein doesn't really vibe with Dream for, uh, let's say "historical reasons". Otherwise this would be cool.
Like, the speed at which Feinberg goes is a notch higher for everything. For example, when we look at the looting of chests in the starting village, Feinberg would've been easily 2-3 seconds faster, which would have saved multiple hearts.
