A build doesn’t need OP stats to count as top tier. The ability to make an otherwise average build work on the highest level when used to it’s full potential is something I’d call a „natural/true top tier“. I think my favourite aspect of your Tierzoo videos is your willingness to tackle "animals everyone knows are OP" like the Water Bear and the Honey Badger and surprising viewers with "if you think about it, it's actually bad" or "there is actually an animal that I'd rank even higher".
An important part of the wolverine (and badger) playstyle that you forgot to mention is the intimidation factor. When playing, players are constantly sizing up prey in a risk/reward fashion, and asking themselves: 'is the exp I'll get from this really worth risking my whole playthrough for?' And that's what honey badgers, and to a larger extent, Wolverines, are going for. Yes, a polar bear can 100% solo a wolverine. It's almost never worth it for the polar bear, however. The fact is, wolverines and badgers do not care about their own lives, and will go out of their way to spite, maim, and possibly kill, those that would mess with them. This MAY end their playthrough, and usually does, but that's just it: A predator that just tangled with one of these animals is either going to be so hurt from the fight that it'll impact the duration of the rest of their playthrough in a HUGELY negative fashion, OR they'll just flat out die from their wounds. This makes it so that, whenever a predator sees a scavenged carcass with a wolverine attached, they'll steer clear. They'll even be willing to just hand over their own kills to the darn thing, just to avoid tangling with the crazy psychopath that is known as the Wolverine Main. Which is precisely what Wolverine Mains want. When they fight to the death against a predator many times their size, they aren't planning for their OWN continued playthrough, but for subsequent playthroughs, as well as the playthroughs of other wolverine mains. In my opinion, this exploitation of player psyche actually ranks them on a higher spot than the one you've assigned them, here.

Another ability Otters have that make them extremely strong is "awwww" which debuffs humans' will-to-kill stat. If you put enough points into cuteness humans just don't want to kill you
Or in the case of honey badgers put enough points into intimidation that humans literally steer completely clear of you as your well known for "Not giving a shit"
i Absolutely love how proud you sounded at that Sponsor transition it made me laugh quite a bit. love you dude, I also got my high school science teacher to use a couple of your vids in class btw!
This is probably one of the best kinds of videos to show in a classroom. By allowing us to look at nature from a different point of view, it's more easily understood.
Yeah, the best part is she is a huge gamer and geek, pulling 48 hour grinds in WoW and everything so she really likes this guy and she told me that she has watched all of them.
Just wanted to add two notes: 1. The otter has the densest fur in the entire animal kingdom. The most hairs-per-inch of every living creature. This is what allows it to be aquatic. Not only does it insulate on its own, it traps air which provides an additional layer to prevent heat from escaping. 2. The honey badger has a special team up relationship with the honey bird. The bird finds beehives and leads the badger to it. The badger rips apart the hive, sedates the bees, and eats the honey. The bird prefers the leftover wax.
@@jjfeedback443 I was about to comment this. I read somewhere that there is no hard evidence that this is true, only anecdotal stories which are very unreliable as might be useless
@@jjfeedback443 According to David Attenborough, humans in Africa use honey guides. I don't know about the badger, but I would assume the bird can cooperate with other animals.
I just watched another info vid that debunked the honey bird/honey badger relationship. Apparently, they have bad eyesight and hearing so it would be impossible for them to hear the songs the birds are supposed to be signalling to them, so it's pretty much just folklore.

Dude honey badgers are soooo overrated. The only thing they have really going for them is thick fur and stinking. They would get omega clapped by anything in the savanna. The only thing they don't is because predators don't want to put too much effort for a small shit
I remember when he got another honey badger (female) with him to calm him down and not want to escape. Yea the honey badgers worked together and escaped together lmfao
dude what if tierzoo is actually a time traveler from the future where nature and animals are long gone and there was a game company that found out about their distant ancestors and their nature and decided to make a giant mmo out of it... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Sea otter main here. While I enjoy the representation of otters, the separation of river otters/giant otters and sea otters needs to be stated here. Only sea otters have unlocked the tool use perk, so no tool using giant otters for you. Also, sea otters have ridiculous food costs, needing 25% of their body weight in food everyday to survive. They're not light, either, weighing an average of 50-60 pounds and the heaviest being 110 pounds. The food cost gets even higher with a baby, so high that sea otter mothers have to make one of their babies quit if they have twins. This is because sea otters don't have any blubber in their build, so they rely on their metabolism and fur to keep warm. The trade-off is that you aren't as good of loot as marine mammals with blubber, such as seals, but it's not that good of a trade-off. The real reason you play a sea otter is for the ecosystem you're a part of, as the sea otter build is a keystone species to the kelp forest server. Without sea otters, places called 'urchin barrens' spring up, where sea urchins gang up on any kelp loot that shows up, hence the name. Nice video otherwise!
SkitsTheSkitty I played red panda a bit just have to say it was pretty fun. You just got to avoid clouded leopards and you literally live by your food source. It is easy to get food and only need to watch out for one predator.
Hey thats an idea, considering the types of playstyles demanded by things like caloric requirement. bears gorge then hibernate, hummingbirds stop eating just to sleep, whales constantly filter water, bees collect and age food, ants have unlocked agriculture
can you cover some low tier intelligence builds? You've often praised intelligence builds on this channel so I'd be interested to see what mistakes you often see from new players, and in general what pitfalls there are to an intelligence build.
Intelligence takes a lot of growth time and energy to preserve. Bacteria and viruses have no intelligence, yet they are a far bigger threat to humans than lions or tigers or smart animals like chimps.
Off the top of my head, I don't think he's ranked any INT-focused build below B tier, but he covered a couple mistakes some such builds make in another video. IIRC, they were not putting enough points into dexterity, which keeps you from a lot of tool use, and picking a build with a low life span, which prevents your character from learning enough to use its high INT to its full potential.
Intelligence has an disadvantage that it doesn't work on builds with a low size stat. Low size builds have a high evasiveness and spawn rate which give them great advantages.
@@IamGrimalkin Disagree. Portia spiders are an example of an intelligence build with a very low size stat. They use this intelligence to outsmart and grief other spider mains, especially those who focus on web-building strategies. Portia spiders can stealth or even create false messages on webs, setting up surprise attacks that allow them to take on higher weight classes of spiders and win.

Definitely agree with you on IQ. There's a RUclips where a guy has raised a honey badger since birth. He has also gone thru every engineering method possible to keep the badger from leaving his enclosure at night... Absolutely nothing works... not 3 or 4...but more than a dozen very sophisticated methods. Each time badger finds way to get out... My words don't correctly illustrate the magnitude of that badgers IQ

I never saw any of these players escape or even attempt it. Interesting, I'll look out for this next time! Thank you for this, its given me something to consider.
Otter families also have better maneuverability than most fish builds, being able to spin in the water to attack from angles that other marine builds can't.
Hi, i was wondering if you could make a video about kingdom plantae instead of animalia. I want to know which plant is the best. Should I be carnivorous or use photosynthesis? Is stealing nutrients from my neighbors a viable strategy. Should I be a short lived grass plant or a long living tree plant? Which support should I have, worms, bees maybe? I’m lost plz help.
If you somehow manage to glitch into the plant guilds, all you get access to is creep effects and an RTS mini-game trying to steal resources from those around you. Realize that without mobility any pvp players can do anything to you, and I mean anything, likely resulting in a crash instead of a game over. (Don't risk losing your account over this!) I recommend continuing your human character and play the crafted sub mini games agari.o or age of empire clones instead, or if you really want a sedentary playthrough go sloth or manatee.

we have a family farm that is in an area that has one of the most venomous snakes in the world, so we got a honey badger by the recommendation of a neighbor. it needs to be trained and fed really well and it will be a good pet, it ate many snakes until we rarely saw any of them. if you want them as pets, be careful, if you don't teach and feed them right then they might as well say goodbye to your chicken coop even if it was protected under the same security system in Guantanamo bay, they would still get into the coop and kill all the chickens. anyway, he once killed 2 wild dogs that looked like a rottweiler.
That's one of the rare buffs that actually affects the human class too. Humans are far less likely to kill things that make them go, "aww". It's why grizzlies were nearly hunted to extinction, but humans are doing all they can to prevent pandas from going extinct. ;)
The Cuteness hidden stat is highly specc'd into, which easily influences Human mains to protect otter players. This is also why dog and cat players are often so used as support classes.
The badassery of the Otter is historically well recognized, being a prominent feature of medieval heraldry along side other majestic animals like lions, and the subject even of Norse Myths, along side wolves, ravens, and boars.
I live in Alaska. In the span of a couple of days, there were the following two headlines in the local news: "Troopers Apprehend Fugitive Goat" and "Otters Attack Dog in Anchorage." A guy was playing ball with his dog, threw it into the lake, and into a nest of otters. Well, the otters attacked and started to drag the dog under. The guy had to wade into the water to SAVE HIS DOG, and I believe got some bites and scratches out of the ordeal as well. The goat was unrelated, but it was two very on-brand Alaska headlines back-to-back.
I fell asleep for about 2 hours after this comment and when I awoken from my slumber I checked my notifications on RUclips and realize that Tier Zoo liked my comment.

I think their unique abilities don't work with movement. What I would change is just a small buff: Give trees the ability to remain alive through harsher conditions. I think my favourite aspect of your Tierzoo videos is your willingness to tackle "animals everyone knows are OP" like the Water Bear and the Honey Badger and surprising viewers with "if you think about it, it's actually bad" or "there is actually an animal that I'd rank even higher".
I agree.

Just wanted to add two notes:
Actually if you look in deeper to the honey guide things it isn’t actually true
@@jjfeedback443 I was about to comment this. I read somewhere that there is no hard evidence that this is true, only anecdotal stories which are very unreliable as might be useless
@@jjfeedback443 According to David Attenborough, humans in Africa use honey guides. I don't know about the badger, but I would assume the bird can cooperate with other animals.

Mustelids are one of my favorite guilds; I'd love it if mustelids were revisited, showing off more of the guild members.
Toxic playerbase bro, like do this people even chat?they seem inaprotiable in most servers .
S tier comment right there. Those sea otters are fascinating.
And that why giant river otter is the way to go.
Such disrespect, Jose Dorda! Everyone knows that the mighty and noble Sea Otter would smash their obese river cousins like a clam on their belly!
can you cover some low tier intelligence builds? You've often praised intelligence builds on this channel so I'd be interested to see what mistakes you often see from new players, and in general what pitfalls there are to an intelligence build.
Intelligence takes a lot of growth time and energy to preserve. Bacteria and viruses have no intelligence, yet they are a far bigger threat to humans than lions or tigers or smart animals like chimps.
Never have a short life span and always be around your offspring.
