Dude this camper is legit. The fact that its a pop up, but can still be used as a tear drop is huge, but then that fold out shower and the kitchen in the back is just icing on the cake. Truly awesome, what a great design and fantastic craftsmanship. Love the action footage too.
You did a great job on this build. I’ve built over a dozen tear drops, the last 4 were overland style off road builds. Like you, I have a larger family. There’s 6 of us and they never stop growing! Because if this I have continually changed the design and re-designed each camper to fit our family. Unfortunately I have sold each camper and moved on to create a new one. I have started the draft for what I believe will be the ultimate build. Im terrible about taking photos and video but we’ve spent this summer learning to do just that so I hope I can soon post a full video series on the built here in RUclips. I love the way you designed yours. It’s amazing! Keep it up.
Sick build. One of the best I've seen after studying these for several years. So innovative and excellent construction skills. The pop up is ingenious to sleep your whole family. Great job and thanks for sharing this powerful story.
You did an OUTSTAND JOB. I was employed by Sterling ATM in Salt Lake City UT building the BEAN camper I'm a cooler meaning I make the FIBERGLASS molds to make the products. Anyway your unit is VERY well though out, very well built.
I have been watching teardrop videos for the last couple of years. I am so glad I have found yours! My plan is to be able to use my 4x8 utility trailer. This way I can slide the camper off when I need the trailer, and back on when its time to go camping! Thanks again guys!
I like that you show it in action in real 4wd conditions. As you may know the stat that many 4wd vehicles do not go off road much, unless there has been some intense face booking involved. Some light on the manual skills require may be daunted by the task of making this kind of camper that will be robust enough. Well presented & communicated video. I can see that you give careful thought to your endeavors.
@@Environmenthrall plans will be available on my website in 2 weeks. shawneehillsworkshop.com It was not my idea, there is a company in South Africa that makes a similar product.
@@Environmenthrall Definitely patent the shower... it would be a great add-on product for many boondockers. I haven't seen anything like it, reminds me of the bat wing style awnings. Very clever and easy to setup & put away. Now i see it wasn't your design... very well executed though.
Really great design. I built a 6x10 tear camper about ten years ago, but I'm considering building another that is more akin to your offroad rig. Thanks for the videos covering the building, design and use.
I signed into my account just to give you an extra sub, I watched the exterior and interior video build video and I wanted to see more, I stumbled upon this one as well and I just want to say you are a very talented man. I saw someone commented this in a previous video but you are seriously a jack of all trades, your children are very lucky to have such a knowledgeable father. I've always wanted to build a camper of my own aside from the renovation projects I've taken up and I may just go with your plans. Congrats to you on such a well constructed project. I also used to work for One of the biggest RV dealerships in the country and the camper you build I can say with 100% certainty is better constructed than 95% of the $40,000 campers that I've seen come in through those doors. Once again, Congrats on completing your project I look forward to seeing future videos.
I watched this video since you started it's great work and it's gratifying to keep seeing. He just missed one thing. A hahahaha pool table. I hope to see you soon with your own manufacturing company of this type of houses. Best regards.

Классное видео. Отлично собранный кемпер. Прицеп. Дом на колесах. Я в Росии тоже скоро начну постройку прицепа. Хороших приключений и путешествий тебе.
Be honest. The real reason you built your own is the ones on the market are not built nearly as tuff as yours. This is great and is going to last a long time. And built strong. Well done. You made it look easy. Lots of engineering went it to this.
Can’t wait to get the plans I’ll be Contacting you on Facebook with in the next couple of days to purchase the plans I really appreciate it and I hope to keep you up-to-date on the build
Thank you. Most of the campers like this I have seen, the mattress is right on the floor. I like having a place to sit up and love that it gives me so much storage room underneath. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
This video is 2 years old right now but my question is you made the comment when showing your heater how you like winter camping so how does winter camping and exterior showering work? Gotta be pretty cold! 🥶
I've watched 3 vids of this trailer/camper build, I especially enjoyed the kids buzzing around as you worked, great build, kids had fun and you score a camper! wins all round.....my missus hates the off road part, hows your missus handle it? does she enjoy or tells you to take it easy?? great vids, hope you make some $$'s out of it too,
Always a pleasure to see excelltent craftsmanship like this trailer build you did. I noticed you had a Jeep Cherokee before, did you need the V8 power in the GX to pull the trailer? The scene where the GX is pulling it up the steep incline is impressive.
iQuantium I didn’t need the power, although it has been nice. I pulled it with the XJ for a long time but I didn’t trust the XJ to travel thousands of miles across the country.
I subbed your channel. You did such a nice job and I like your camper so much, I am going to build one. We have a similar size family, there are 6 of us, my wife and I and three youngins’ ranging from 9 - 21. I’m planning on making a few mods including an extended trailer. I’m thinking a 6’ front utility trailer extension that will carry extra gear and double as a deck/ cooking platform. Thank you for the massive inspiration! Happy Camping and blaze your own trail!!!
Not really. My thoughts are for the most part it will be my son and I and even as he gets older we will have no problem fitting. But on the rare occasion that everyone wants to go when they get older I will be more comfortable putting them in a tent outside.
Hello, Great design and execution. Love it! I am curious... Now that it has been a few years, how has the pop top held up? Also, did you ever encounter any leaks from the pop top? You know... driving while raining.... How did you manage to keep it water tight?
I designed and started building my dream camper/trailer to pull behind my Jeep. Now I am trying to figure out my slide out bed/storage plus where to house my solar panels and could really use some advise. Not sure how far you are from the Maysville, KY area?
Hello from Louisville! Interesting build w/ the pop up roof. What, if anything do you do to prevent moisture and condensation buildup on the inside from exhalation/rainy conditions? KY gets pretty humid. Have you run into that issue ( I know you said you generally camp in colder weather) ?
I just started looking into building a teardrop, found this, and I'm blown away! Very nicely done! One question, do the plans invlude details for building the frame?
That teardrop /pop up is one amazing camper. You just took that to another level. Question is how much did it all ad up to if i may ask. Since a regular teardrop runs close to 20k.

I'd like to see the video for the fibreglassing. Can't find it. Did you mix up resin a bit at a time? I do it and it sets up too fast
