professional boxing event held on that infamous CINCO DE MAYO day by the Toronto waterfront.
A DAZN first ever LIVE show beamed out and was broadcast live from Canada to the world. It was a packed stormer. The City of the 6ix kicked off the Mexican weekend with a stacked card from Rebel Toronto . Headlined by Bryan Acosta vs Canelito Garcia and the co-main event was also Mexicos Sebastian Maldonado and representing Éire was Lee Reeves.
Lee Baxter has continued highlighting Canadian boxing to the world via DAZN network. This was their inaugural event with a multi-fight deal.pending. This video features the May 5th - Cinco De Mayo post fight interviews as Lee Baxter presented the first boxing show in Canada to be shown on the sports streaming platform in style.
In recent years, DAZN has broadcast some of the biggest fights across the globe, from the United States and United Kingdom, to Japan, Mexico, Italy and Spain. Finally, Canada will be added to the list. It was held at REBEL Entertainment Complex in Toronto,
In Bout 1 local Oakville opener Ross Mylet got the crowd hyped up for the first ever Dazn Boxing. He was fast and furious and unlucky that his bout was a draw in the electric show on Rebel Nightclubs grounds.
Bout 2 featured the first win in the Lee Baxter stable with Lebanon Legend Zawadi. The big fella continued his 100% KO rate on the Cinco De Mayo show with a stormer of a performance.
Steven Wilcox returning to the canvas hamont hammer style after the Covid spell on live sporting events with his 23rd professional win in Bout 3. He dedicated his victory to his daughter.
Lee Reeves became the #NABF Super Lightweight Champion with some stylish Irish dancing moves and lethal combinations as he lifted that emerald green belt in Bout 4. He has a special message of support for those going through tough times at the moment.
Acosta vs Garcia was the headline for the #WBC Continental Americas Featherweight Title.
This was the final bout as the night as Nick Fantauzzi was very unlucky not to partake because of his opponent pulling out of the night. Nick spoke humbly and is ready for fresh instructions of who to focus on next in the ring.
WBC Continental Americas title is open to boxers fighting out of North American, Central American and South American countries. The Continental Americas champion is guaranteed a spot among the WBC's top 40 ranking. The men who battled it out for this belt both entered the ring determined to take it home. It was hard fought and Garcia was left dejected in the changing rooms after. His fellow countryman and favourite Bryan Acosta won the bout in style by a TKO in round 10. Baxter himself praised 'El Latino' - as a star and we start of the chats with yourself, amigo.
