When do we go beyond the basics 👀
The fact that this 47 minute video is the more condensed and short explanation of the world of Arknights shows that how big and complex the lore and worldbuilding has gotten over the years.

If you go back and watch earliest game's trailers carefully you may notice that we had already a very diverse group of characters at the start, from all different places.
As an example - the Kjerag trailer that shows Degenbraker and Gnosis, despite the fact that we had Break the Ice event only 2+ years after release.
Arknights world did not just grow up bigger over the years, it is *already was huge* at the *very beginning*
At least, conceptually. Isn't it a great magnificent universe to dive into?

we've just been drip fed all of this throught the story chapters and events, and a majority of people cannot comprehend the scope of context without seeing it first hand.
even from the base game at release, a massive world dealing with the effects of oripathy, how the infected get treated from country to country, city to city, and how the catastrophes required large cities to be build on mobile plates to move in time, which is all explained in said base game, should already have given you a idea of how large and complicated this world is.
@shadowsketch926 maybe i havent made myself clearly, but what you just said is what im trying to say. The lore is already deep, but we got further analysis on every region with every event like you said. Nontheless, i agree with you

Just to take note: This only covers the very basics of the world of Terra, the different nations, races, as well as the history of how Rhodes Island was formed. We have barely scratched the surface of what is going on in Terra (Note how not even Reunion is talked about).
This is like, the main of the mains. The overalls.
Stories in Arknights goes down from the World, to the Nations, to the Governments, to the societies, to the commuinity, all down to the minute individuals.
Even certain items have its lore.
Having a full on sitdown to read thru every lore may take weeks even!

I remember that when i first started playing the game, i thought that the animal-features were mutations caused by Oripathy. So that last clarification is nice.

This! Especially bec I learned anatomy, the ear is called oricula in latin, I thought oripathy is a disease where one develops ears, and the worse it gets, the closer you are to being more animal
The fact that he started by explaining how apocalyptic is when the shit is currently hitting the fan and that the people have learned how to utilize the shit. It had me laughing

36:47 pretty sure Emperor isn't actually a "human" although he is part of "humanity", he is more like a "talking animal" (weird when compared to Rat King not being the same case), similar to Eunectes's bird friend they're Feraeri.
But I guess that would be more advanced part of lore and spoiler territory (which clearly isn't the point of this introduction video) as we start talking about immortal beings and "deities".

I love trying to draw parallels between which Arknights nations are inspired by which real world countries/areas.

Technically, there are approximately seven guns in Arknights that don't require arts, those being the guns of Team Rainbow after they were modified by Rhodes Island to fire ammunition comprised of crushed Originium powder and Keton.
With those demons, in my opinion the most dangerous are the Seaborn because of 2 main things. First is the fact that it is essentially a Hivemind so they have the great way of coordination and the second one is their ability to adapt and evolve (just like the Zerg and Tyranids in Starcraft and Warhammer 40k universes).
plus the nations that are holding them back are on the verge of collapse, compared to the Fire Demon at Sargon that doesn't seem to do anything threatening to Sargon (yet?), and the ongoing battle between Northern Demon against Ursus & Sami which seems going pretty well for now since Ursus at least, still have time & resources to deal with the infected, it may sounds bad but the fact that they have the time to do that meaning at least they're not in a losing battle against the Demon

The way that the lore has an inspiration of real geopolitics and history and turns it its own is just amazing !
This is the exact video I wanted for years. I hope new lore fans appreciate what a useful resource this will be going ahead. You have genuinely made one of the best and easily accessible jumping off points for basically any corner of the lore people may find interesting, and will massively help people form a fuller picture much faster than it took me slowly piecing things together on my own. massive props

I personally bounced off the game a few times before I really got into it, so here's hoping you have an easier time getting into it than I did, because once you _get_ the gameplay and stop being annoyed by the base, the game has a lot to offer you from both the story and gameplay perspective. Also hot limited noisy dragon man is coming in a couple days, so I wish you luck on that front, he seems like he'd be a great op to get early on

little correction: the emperor (the penguin seen in the video when talking about human races) is not considered human. He is another type of being, a "great beast", a term I'm not sure if it has come to en yet. "great beasts" are said to be immortal. Other examples are the parrot in the Great Chief returns event, the Duck Lord you see in rougelike, and the lions in Seige's backstory.

When I heard originium catastrophies, it reminded me of my idea of magical natural disasters and how they affect society, its development, and both flora and fauna, and I always love the adition of a disease conected to the same power system in the story, it doesnt necessarily be the requirement of the power, but as an effect of either having heavy contact with it, overexerting yourself, or simply a disease that adapt to mana and use it in one way or another, it is to say, it is always interesting to see how magic, mana, energy sources, that arent of our own world affect the entire ecosystem specially if a society uses it. It makes the world feel genuine and familiar in a way where you can understand it personally, but it is different enough to be interested in it.

One thing I don't get. How someone develop unique arts? Like Ceobe can "hear" weapons, all of the Nearls have same arts and in both of the above cases, they don't use arts units.

The grinding in Arknights repeatedly had me drop the game, but then i would see your expansive lore videos and i'm reminded just how detailed, intricate, and in-depth AK's lore is, and i just can't help but get back into the game if even just for the stories in it. I especially loved the stories set in kazimierz and kjerag, as well as those of the abyssal hunters. it's INSANE how AK's writers manage to put in this much detail and for all of it to feel so interwoven and alive, and not collapse on itself despite how some elements like, say, how the Originium Arts system feels like anything goes sometimes. Thanks for the long video btw, u are the goat for us AK lore fans
same man, imho I want to explore terra as an rpg type of game not just through text and tower defense puzzles. I love the game still but I still feel its a grindfest sometimes. I hope they will eventually make like a hack and slash rpg game for Arknights, I think theres one Endfield, but its not in Terra tho

@carfren28281 almost literally. A guy from our world unloaded a heavy machine gun into mercenaries of terra. And it was only akin to stoning them. Still hurts. But not the absolute genocide we'd expect a heavy machine gun to do. And ACTUAL soldiers only go up from there.

I literally started 3 days ago and got instantly invested into this game.
Gosh is this game so good. I got into it because of the music, just like I got into Genshin because of its music.
And Arknights lore is interesting in all honesty. I’m still early in the game so nothing huge has happened yet, but from what I’ve seen it does get pretty *heavy* on stuff at points so I’ll try to be prepared for that.
