Very nice, especially the 8th Alabama. I'm in a German community in War of Rights and we represent the Alabamas German Legion 8th Alabama G Company. Nice miniatures and very good paintjob. I got this Epic Battles pre order set and I've painted some miniatures, not all but I'm on my way. Thanks and greetings from Germany
Very nice work. I like the fact you are using different units like the Clinch rifles to add color. I plan on using some of the iron brigade miniatures for Rebels in frock coats. Texans and the orphan brigade good examples of that. Looking forward to you next video.
Great looking army, good to see that 3 bases is the way to go for regiments and I will get some extra command sets. If you can make extra for Zuaves, IB and any other regiments you release that would be great, as I love the shoulder to shoulder lines you've made. Once 3rd party and bundle discounts are put in I can see that the cavalry and skirmishers aren't quite as expensive as some are claiming, so I think I will go with the Warlord ones. However, the Kallistra Limbers at 12 for less than £35 (posted) is too good to pass by, so it looks like you've got your target price way off on that one, which does damage this otherwise brilliant release.
Great insight. I am toying with the British intervention force too, and I have bought some of the PeterPig ‘heads’ to see if the scale works as they have the right types of headress in the spare heads range. They are a little big-but I think on the table they will work really well when you do a whole unit.
Ooh a quick Question for you. You caught my interest when you mentioned possibly doing a British intervention "what if" force.. using the existing Epic range. How would you suggest going about painting/converting minis for that, I`m intrigued now? What a great idea.
Research the Iron Brigade and the Stonewall Brigade. The Iron Brigade is a Brigade of Western troops with Hardee hats that fought with distinction in the Army of the Potomac. The Stonewall Brigade was of course Stonewall Jackson's Confederate Brigade that was considered the best Brigade in the Army fo Virginia. Adding butternut colored uniforms to the Confederate units also looks quite striking on the Battletop and is very historically accurate.
I had no idea this game existed. I'll give it a try ! But on the store is it 15mm or 28mm miniatures ? Epic seems 15 mm but for "regular" Black Powder ?
Bought the starter set and love it but you are way off with the pricing for the wave two and three releases. I will be very wary of buying into other periods if you release them for that reason. You want the same money for forty thirteen mil skirmishes as for forty twenty eight mil perry figures.
I wholeheartedly agree. The regular brigade boxes are very affordable, but $60 USD for a cavalry brigade? Not to mention $20 USD for a single artillery limber. It's laughable. When did Warlord start thinking they were Games Workshop?
Exactly I was so tempted by the big boxed set but I hung on until the rest was available. I'm glad I did, as it turns out metal miniatures are actually cheaper than warlords figures in the follow up boxes.
@@2011scuba Kallistra's 12mm ACW miniatures look very nice next to Warlord's minis. I'd even go so far as to say that if you stick to Warlord for infantry and Kallistra for everything else, you'd be hard pressed to see a difference.
Do you want to get the starter set or not? Starter set gives you a very sizeable infantry and artillery force for both sides. If you only want to purchase Confederate, then an individual brigade box runs about $30. The Epic Scale is intended to be played at the division level, so you'd need several brigades to get a decent sized army.
Not too expensive for the plastic infantry but the warlord resin cavalry, zouaves ,iron brigade ,skirmishes and dismounted cavalry will ruin you. It is much cheaper to buy thieves troop types from Kallistra in metal, They are about half the price.
As an American who has mispronounced British place names before, i enjoyed hearing you struggle with Massachusetts 😂
The PC game Ultimate General might be a good inspiration for getting into tabletop.
Lovely armies

VERY interesting Tobias. Thanks for sharing bud.
Really impressive video gents. I am looking forward to more releases.
Very effective painting, considering how small the miniatures are & how much the video magnifies them.
I bought 2 of these boxes. Should be arriving tomorrow. Im very excited!!

I'd love to see some rule/tutorials from Warlord Games.
This is something we are slowly working towards and will be including in the future.

@@MrVolvobloke I got the big box, but I will be filling the rest of my rosters with other brands that are much cheaper.

This is the dream I love historical miniatures. How much would a rebel army this size cost me roughly? I want to do it.

Impressive, nice paint job. The voice audio is rubbish though, very tinny.
Give us a fantasy game on this scale! xD
Will you ever add special confederate armies like Louisiana tigers to offset the unions zouaves and iron brigade
just paint the zouaves like the tigers.
Will the wave 2 and wave 3 units come as resin figures in the future or stay metal ???
Mold lines detracted from the paint job so much.
epic scale is best ^^
