Experiment to plot V-I Characteristics of SCR (Thyristor)

Components used:
SCR TYN612
Resistor Rs=10 kΩ, 5 Watts
Resistor Rg=3.3 kΩ, 1/4 Watts
Dual Channel Variable DC Power supply
Voltmeter
Ammeter
Connecting wires.

Go on reducing the forward voltage and at the same time keep watching the value of forward current. A moment will come when current becomes suddenly 0, the last value of current before becoming 0 is nothing but holding current.
