- One of the last shows attributed to Martin Margiela himself, and my personal favorite from MMM. As I could not find any video of this show in good quality, I decided to upload the one I've downloaded some years ago from MMM website (now unavailable).
As described by Sarah Mower, "what unfolded, in inimitable house style, was less a sentimental catalog of past hits than a reminder of the continuing relevance of Margiela's sidelong contributions to stimulating fashion over two decades and 40 collections".
12 years after the show, this and all his past collections remain one of the most relevant bodies of work in contemporary fashion.
Update:
The show happened on 29 September 2008 6:30 PM, and took place at Le Centquatre (5 rue Curial, 75019 Paris).
Love love love the brown leather coat toward the beginning and I see where so many designers have gotten ideas from JPG to RAF and especially Rick O
The circled one?
The skeletal look 2 is by far the most iconic look ive ever seen
holy shit. thank you for posting this
Woooow, that’s incredible!!
I love this collection and the show!! Beyond!!
so freaking cool love this
If you look at the big houses that year they were at the height of super-beigeness, see Versace show and others eg and so on. This was a big f u to that: if you're ging to be beige, be at least interesting. This was his last show. He left without notice that night.
Hey thanks for posting the full length. Currently I am writting an academical paper about fashion shows and this is one of my examples I am analyzing.
Can you give me some background information, e.g. in which city it was and in which building.
I couldn't find anything on the internet pages in my country:/
