  • www.zerox-billi... Enjoy this very rare footage from 1984 'The New Show.' This episode is called 'The Hustler' and features John Candy as Minnesota Fats and Kevin Kline as Fast Eddie Felson. The quality is poor but still watchable.
    In this hilarious episode, Fast Eddie realizes his dream to match up with the legendary Minnesota Fats...

    This skit is better than 90 % of the utter garbage that is on view at the cinemas today and I'm not even joking.

    Loved the original movie, it's a total classic, and I agree that it should have won an Oscar. Candy is a super star, and he is sorely missed. Kline is a journeyman actor, and not many people know that he was classically trained, (Shakespearean). Also, I went to high school with Kevin back in the early 70's, at a small private school. He hasn't changed a bit. I played pool my whole life, and I was involved in the billiard business for over thirty years, and yet, I had never seen or heard of this clip. Two of my favorites. Thanks for showing it.

    Paul Newman didn’t have a mustache in The Hustler, that was The Color of money. Not a huge deal but you’d think they’d have at least watched it again 😂.

      And you'd think you could have watched Kevin Kline in Sophie's Choice also from 1984. That's his own mustache.

    • @ZeroXBilliards

      I think the joke was that they are both terrible but they call themselves hustlers.

    • @davids11131113
      @davids11131113 6 лет назад +5

      You'd have to see the Original Hustler movie with Jackie Gleason, beginning of that movie he plays straight pool with Fast Eddy Felson for like 24 hours, they're the best players around.....this is a goof on that where these guys can't make a ball all nite in 1 game.

    • @davids11131113
      @davids11131113 6 лет назад +1

      But yea fornthe general public on a TV comedy show, I bet a lot of people didn't get it. Most people probably haven't seen that old pool movie so the audience was going 'What is this?'
