Definitely taking the “let no one look down on you for your youth” a little too far. Honestly, we’re setting a dangerous and unbiblical precedent letting children preach from the pulpit.

@@Kdubtru and the idea of child preachers is insane given that all who preach should, by and large, pass the test of 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1. Child preachers are not a blessing to the church but an indictment against the church, and a reproach against Christ.
It is also taking Scripture out of Context. The Jews, whose Tradition it was that a Preacher had to be over 30 (odd, as the Scripture puts 25 for a Levite... more straining so hard at a Gnat that a whole Camel gets sucked down perhaps?) would have looked down on Timothy as he was only in his mid 20's! that is still a lot older than a Child! Timothy was not to let them look down on him for being under 30! Nothing about letting a 7 Year old Preach! as I am pretty sure Scripture States that being under the Authority of a Child is a mark of God's Wrath!

A child needs & deserves to have a childhood first. If you rob them of that, they’re gonna be emotionally and mentally stunted. You can’t place the expectation on a child that they master the required studying & understanding of an adult

I feel bad for the young fella. He’s no different than any other child/circumstance where the first thing to think about is how to please mom or dad. And shame on his parents and that church for the mockery.
Mockery is the perfect word. This would be different if this was in the privacy of their own home. But this was presented to a congregation as a real message.
He’s not the only one there are many parents pushing their children out like that…. They start the kids off by the time they can speak ! Then the kids grow up and don’t even like church or God!

Having said that, I absolutely agree with you on all points concerning this matter.
My son was a (charismatic) pew baby, as they say. He used to do the very same thing. As a 2-3 year old he used to imitate the preacher down to the T. I mean, hooping, wiping his brow, all the catchphrases our pastor was known for. Even his "tongues"
All of it. Everywhere we went he also used to go around laying his hands on people's heads and imitate praying for people. Then he got turned on to our city's NFL team and imitated Ray Lewis to a T for a couple of years. Had that in-zone dance to the letter. Then he became really enamored with WWE wrestlers and imitated the Hardy Boyz entrance all day every day. He's grown now and he ain't stuntin' a preacher, Ray, Hardy Boyz, or any of the rest. He was a kid doing what kids do: imitating the people he looked up to.
This putting babies (and teens) in the pulpit is beyond dangerous and feeds the monster of pride at an early age. It's totally against scripture, and it's cringy. 💀

These children are only doing what they’ve seen done and saying what they’ve heard being said. What actual biblical knowledge could they possibly have. They aren’t teaching they’re spectacles.

This reminds me of an episode of Donahue (I think, it may have been Oprah) in which there was a panel of kid preachers who struggled with explaining the “sermons” they were hollering. Very cringey.
I remember there was a kid preacher on Oprah a while ago, and the kid quoted a scripture but when Oprah asked if he could explain what it meant he couldn’t. The dad then said “the prophets of the Old Testament didn’t always know exactly what they were saying either they were just obedient to what God said.”
The problem is there are no more prophets and anybody can read scripture. We need an elder with the right qualifications who can exegete the passages.

I Agee with most of what you said except “there are no more prophets” what is Gods definition of Prophet? The Holy Spirit has NOT stopped dispensing “Prophecy” since it is one of the 9 gifts to the Body of Christ. While it maybe rare to encounter a true Prophet the Gift is still alive…
A prophet is a man called by God to be His representative on earth. When a prophet speaks for God, it is as if God were speaking (see D&C 1:38). A prophet is also a special witness for Christ, testifying of His divinity and teaching His gospel. A prophet teaches truth and interprets the word of God.
@@258269 I’ll concede to the possibility of a prophet still existing today but I haven’t seen one. My main point was that biblical prophets like you said were representatives of God and said directly what God told them, they didn’t just recite already written scriptures.
I agree with your critique. I remember this children's cartoon from back in the day. The title was 'two stupid dogs' and there was this adult man in the show that had to me the greatest punchline which is representative of many of the silliness that is portrayed in the modern church.
His line every time that the dogs did something innocently dumb was this 'isn't that cute, but it's wrong!' Today we who profess Christ are doing and putting up with some stuff that may be cute but it's just wrong in the eyes of the Lord. I pray we turn back to the truth of God and His word and follow Him.
We don’t see this very often! So thank you for shedding some light on this subject. I agree with you when you said if they want to be Christians they should be taught and groomed into who God has called them to be and when the time is right and appropriate then let them stand in the gift. Walking thru the door too early can be dangerous no matter how old you are or how cute you sound.
Starting to be uncomfortable to watch. I can’t stop thinking of the parents and the manipulation going on in these examples. He definitely has dad or the pastor to emulate. Man….😢
Me and my son jokingly sometimes "preach" with the loud voice and the hootin and hollering. But when we sit and do devotions as a family. We sit, where quiet, and we listen as we talk about what we read and what it means. These kids are super adorbale though 😆 lol
The Bible said not to let a novice teach or preach , be cause they are unskilled. Do we obey the word of God or man.

Maybe it's the inner cynic in me, but if the parents of these "child preachers" aren't careful, they could be raising future atheists or agnostics. Hopefully I'm wrong, and hopefully these kids manage to find a saving faith in Jesus and wait until their of a proper age before resuming their preaching career.

Me and my siblings use to love playing church. Imitating the people in the church. When we got caught our elders would cut our behind. It waa forbidden to play with God .

There is a great danger when proof texting scripture which is what I believe you do here whether knowingly or unwittingly. Isaiah 3 should be read and understood in its full context

I feel so sorry for his parents. I can see what kind of life this kid will have at school, With his friends, neighborhood. From history, such kids will end up bullied at school, by their peers........... His parents took his age away. Poor kid!
As a Christian and member of a Pentecostal church who lives outside of the US this is very much the American gospel, there could never be a child preacher in my church. But neither would there be many others with questionable doctrine whether they class themselves as reformed, evangelical or anything else.
One thing God is about it’s order and there’s nothing more out of order than a kid preaching there is numerous of verses saying that let the young learn you must sit and learn first before you just get up and preach to people that are twice your age also you have to be called by God to preached can’t just get up there just because a parent put you there God gotta put you there Isaiah 3:12 “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”

It is just a repetition of God, Jesus, and Lord with a bunch of gibberish. There is no message from the gospel. A mockery of teaching and preaching. The members of the congregation who encourages this, and praises these children have no understanding of the gospel. They are letting their emotions control their attitudes towards these so called child preachers.
Marjoe was wild! It made me think that God can still heal regardless of who's preaching. Even if someone is up there faking.
There's a tendency sometimes to think that ALL that attend a certain church are false converts because the pastor is flawed in his theology. Most church attendees were not saved at their current church. And some members believe differently. God has insiders!

The little boy said when he was 2 years old and in passing a church, of course with parents, he saw a cross and out of nowhere he said “Jesus” This reminds me of an incident a long time ago when I was about ten years old. I was holding my nephew in my arms who was about 8 months at the time. His father’s sister came for the first to visit. Upon seeing her my 8 months old nephew said “Jesus”. I don’t think she even noticed, but I did. A few years later she became a nun of the CC.
Some years back a kid preacher, I think his name was Dumphe, was in Operah and Sally Jessy Raphael talk show
One Question… did Christ Jesus call or use any children as Apostles or Disciples??? Why did the Father wait until Christ Jesus was 30 years old??? Afterall, according to Hebraic and Jewish culture a boy is considered mature at 13 years of age! Why did the disciples go through so much to choose a replacement for Judas ?? They could have just chosen one the little children Jesus had ministered too ! They could have gotten the boy with the fishes and loaves. Afterall, he was prerequisite to the miracle Jesus performed ! People need to stop it!

Everybody is trying to emulate Jesus Christ and if that means using your children people will do so and it’s insulting to the work of Christ and his sacrifice and it’s sad that these kids are being trained to do this and not truly having their own true encounter with the Holy Spirit however God is merciful and loving and he uses the crooked things of this world and makes them straight. See, this is why the Kathryn Kricks of the world are not ashamed to try to take the mantle of the word upon themselves. The entry level preaching/teaching position is Deacon and besides the character qualifications, the minimum qualifications for a Deacon is being able to demonstrate that they “hold the mystery of the faith”. It takes sufferings/sacrifice to receive the mystery of the faith. What 8, 10, 11 year old is suffering or making such sacrifices? If they were, would God honor such? Is God a child abuser?

You should read what God said he was going to do in the last days, the book of Joel. God does not see a male or female, he see spirit.
And he said he is seeking them him people to worship him in spirit and truth. You need to study to show yourself approved. A workman rightfully divides the word of truth.

The parents of this young boy need to train him up. He’s not ready to preach what he’s doing is regurgitating what he’s heard he’s giving learned behaviour. I’m sure he’s very sincere but child preachers are not to be leading God’s church. They are to be under spiritual and practical instruction.

Actually there are children gifted and anointing to preach.
They are rare. But they do exist. Its not a laborious chore for them. They seem to enjoy preaching.

Look I have a problem with 18, 19 year olds being pastors. This is just a precious child mimicking his dad. Or mom who knows? But a child can not have the experience and wisdom to “preach” to adults. Read the requirements for pastors. This makes it clear a child can not be a leader or pastor in church. I’m not saying God doesn’t call children to serve Him but I truly believe He doesn’t put children in the position to teach adults. Sorry.
