In the original version the chorus is "Slow Motion In The Ghetto" which they changed later to "see me let go" even though the rest of the song remained the same. See me let go is referencing him as someone who has known people or been in situations like this which people in dark times or addiction feel like life Is moving in "Slow Motion" but it was originally a Social commentary on life in poverty communities which is why it was "In the ghetto" and also to answer the "What a brother knows?" Brother like a companion in the ghetto. Because poverty communities normally stay close with each other because they are all they know, and it's like family. BTW love this song, band and reaction. If you are ever interested they have a song "10 days late" which is amazing and matched with slow motion gives you an idea of their lyrical writing topics. Or if you are wondering if they still make music "The kids are getting stronger" is another good one.
Ok, this song was released as an instrumental. The lyrics were too controversial. It's brilliant. Absolutely topical and truly emotional. Thank you for reacting to a song almost nobody has reacted to
I love Never let you Go By Third Eye Blind my mom used to listen to it on the radio and I dedicate it to her now I lost her a little over 4 years ago in July of 2018

Frontman Jenkins said in late September that the song's lyrics were intended to be an anti-violence message. The song includes these lines: "Miss Jones taught me English, but I think I just shot her son/ 'Cause he owed me money, with a bullet in the chest/ With a bullet in the chest he cannot run/ Now he's bleeding in a vacant lot." "That song is a protest song. It's an irony. 'Slow Motion' is about how we revel in amorality," Jenkins said while his band was finishing the album in a hometown San Francisco studio two months ago. To illustrate his point, he cited these lyrics: "Hollywood glamorized my wrath/ I'm a young urban psychopath/ I incite murder for your entertainment/ 'Cause I needed the money, what's your excuse?/ The joke's on you." "It is supposed to be seductive," Jenkins said. "It's almost like an opiate. It is intent on drawing you in. I'm sure I'll get a lot of sh-- for it. I'm sure nobody's going to get any sense about it at all. But I like it, I get it"
The answers to the healing of society lie in the darkest manifestations of our trauma....there is nothing more beautiful than the abyss of the human psyche. Therein lies the solution to entropy in the universe. 🌬🔮🔥 Motorcycle drive by and God of Wine off the self titled album are also darkly beautiful songs. The entire self titled album (with semi charmed life on it) is amazing. I got the album at 12 and for the first time felt like another human was able to articulate the darkness within all mankind in music.
I search for reactions to this song every few months cuz I've never seen one yet, so happy to find you guys doing it! Thanks!
I love that I'm not the only one who appreciates this song

I’m always confused why it’s impossible to find the original version of the song. I’m just glad I got an original copy of blue
Record label took away the lyrics after the first album press because they deemed it too explicit.
