I like it better when you comment. I like to hear how you think during play. Those who dont want that can turn off the sound. And you have a nice voice))
I thought my hearing had gone, but your comment made me realize it hadn't. Agree, commentary is better, but Gen's videos are still good. Thank you for this one Gen. Really informative regarding expectations especially when the stats are from professional golfers.
I'm 71 man and play the eyes for seniors. They range from 5450 to 6000 yds. I play best at 5600 to 5700 yds. I hit tee ball avg of 210 with a 12 handicap. We play for enjoyment and friendship. Love the EVR series and would like you to continue the series and maybe add some course management tips. The percentages you give are after you've already chose the correct play.
Honestly, I love senior players. They know their game, they know what they need to do, and they're not afraid to play the tees that best suite them. And that sounds exactly like what you are doing! You go, Michael!
As a senior golfer here in Canada I’ve learned so much from your set up routine and consistent tempo. Watched the whole video. Well thought out. Loving the slow motion stuff. Exceptionally clear visually. Thanks for the tracking of ball flights. Oh ya. Great eagle.
You have the best golf videos. I have enjoyed golf so much more because of you. Every time I start to get angry for a bad shot, I just imagine you laughing off your bad shots.
Great advice on tees. I’m a 10 index avg drive is 225. I generally play blue/white hybrid tees at 6100 yards unless the course is playing firm. I watch dudes who can’t beak 90 playing blues every time. Hybrid tees are a really good option for many players.
Yes, yes, yes! Look at the hole, look at the distance, and all the information should be right there for you! The worse thing to do is go up to a tee box, look at a par 4, and already know you're not even going to be able to reach in 2. Makes no sense at all!
I really like the combination of live sounds of the course with voice over commentary. I especially enjoy teammate reactions and banter! I’d love to see your teammates hit as well, it seems like they’re getting comfortable with the camera. 🤩
I loved the no commentary. It was pure golf (and friendly banter). Please make more like this. I'm not saying I don't like your commentary, which is always right on target. I also enjoyed seeing the stats for every shot. I don't play enough for my stats to mean anything, but it was interesting to see whether you met or beat your averages. Finally, too many golfers (male egos, mostly likely) play off the tees they imagine being able to play off instead of those they really should. Jack Nicklaus agrees with your advice, so you are in very good company.
Gen, as a high handicapper I have really been enjoying your EVR series. Golf can be really disheartening when you are comparing yourself to scratch. I can see myself trying to pull off some of the shots you have lined up here but knowing that even a pro has
Do you realize that you have a big fan base here in Canada Gen? You should come and play some day. In summer of course. Our golf season is about to wrap up this year, sadly. Many of my friends are your fans now. We all love your tempo and consistency. Keep it going Gen!
Ah, what! That's so cool! I've never been but I wanted to go so bad when I went to school in Boise because it's relatively near to Canada! But I needed a visa as a malaysian so i never went.. Hope to go one day!!
@@GenevieveLingGolf It would be great to see you play in Canada Gen! The winter here is freaking cold but we do have some decent golf courses to enjoy during summer time. If you could, try to actually come in the middle of the fall season when you get to play and enjoy the wonderful maple leaves season. It's beautiful.
Your exactly right Gen on your ending commentary, big egos make big mistakes and are more frustrated. I played with many amateur organizations and they start to reduce in membership because the game is no longer fun playing from longer distances and the longer hitters like me win most of the tourneys and skin money. So you are spot on, this game is meant to be enjoyed and the embracing of nature.
Thanks Gen. l enjoyed hearing the banter with your playing partners, celebrating the eagle and moving on from the shots that didn’t go to plan. Loved hearing your thoughts about tee boxes and the focus on playing to your capabilities. I think I am a better player when I stick to my game. Thank you for inspiring this approach to enjoy golf.
Gen, this is a wonderful presentation and fits nicely with the series you are putting together. I find myself racing home to see if 'Gen' has anything new on the tube! You addressed some very good points in this video and your 'could be 30 yards' discussion was well done, more of us should watch it again. Thanks for what you do and are doing.
I enjoy hearing your thought process on how to play a hole, but also enjoyed hearing the laughter and chit chat from the group. I agree about tee boxes, but I'm only seeing a 10 yd difference or so at the courses I play at. Keep up the good work!
Great video - the slo-mo shows there is nothing wrong in that poetry in motion swing. Unreal. Love the dipped in ink look with those socks. In Scotland around where I am we have White, yellow and red. White is competition. Yellow is for bounce games and red is ladies. Some courses have Blue which are junior tees. So choice is limited. I know it was windy when you played but I think your hole proximity on approach is still the thing holding you back from 2 or 3 more birdies per 9 holes. 27 putts is great !! Superb eagle...!!!
Super. You're such an outstanding communicator and mixing up video styles keeps things interesting. Great sensible advice about choosing a tee box. Your golf thoughts just resonate with me. Thanks Gen.
Refreshing! And I like to hear the on course chatters among the players. Truly appreciate your efforts on this one. And I like the music! Overall, I like the “suspense”, not knowing what are you going to talk about towards the end. This approach probably gets your attention that you came through as focused, and more energetic than the usual on course commentary. Just my 2cents. Fully agreed with you on moving up a tee box, a don’t kidding anyone given I am almost 60 and lost distance over the years. Thanks Gen for the hard work, and always like your “sunshine” smiles!
Watched the whole video. I really liked the first half of the video. You should definitely do some more videos of the raw footage and sound with the shot tracer. Super enjoyable to watch! Keep spreading the knowledge and joy of this game.
Hi Gen - great video and inputs as usual. Congrats on the hole out eagle btw. This has been a long standing debate w/in our group. Blue tees or Gold (Black) tees. From the blue or gold of my home course (also a PGA standard course) - my average approaches will be: par 4s: 139 yards or 165 yards par 3's :168 yards or 193 yards par 5's: 83 yards for blue and gold - but we will need longer lay up shots from the gold. I do have to point out though - when I play from the gold/black tees, it is not just the length of the approach that differs - I noticed that even the angle from the tee box is quite different. For example, there is one hole from the blues that I can aim LEFT (I am a fader) to make sure I avoid the OB on the right. But from the Gold, you have no choice but to aim for the middle of the fairway or aim right and draw the ball (which would be perfect for your 230y draw) - which is very uncomfortable for me. The gold tees are usually for professionals or top amateurs and they have to face that extra challenge of working the ball rather than just dealing with the extra 25-30 yards off the tees. I don't believe I belong in the gold tees - even if my friends insist that we do. I can comfortably shoot in the 70's in the blue - but will have a hard time in the gold - doesn't make sense to me.
Honestly, there is no right or wrong. As you said, every tee box gives players a different perspective of the course. Whether it be bunkers or hazards that come into play, or just the different angle of the tee box. If distance isn't a problem for you, then it really just comes down to what would you like to play off! I think that mixing it up is great! The biggest thing is when distance IS a problem and then the course becomes completely unplayable!
I also like your commentary pre shot much better as it shows your tactics to play the hole. Slomos were nice, you have a wonderful swing. Love your vids.
Loved the topic. Too many people think I have to play the blues. I also wish more courses would promote the combination tee idea, it gives the ego the ok to move forward. Also that 250 years is a big deal, 14 yards a hole, I like hitting one club less into the green. Great video.
Another great video Gen. I enjoyed the on course commentary because it's interesting and educational to hear how you approach each hole. Would like to see a course vlog showing all four players play or maybe girls vs guys vlog in the future?
Thanks, for sharing. Agreed, most amateurs should "move up" to a tee box that matches their ability. Many young "guys" tend to play the Black (far back) Tees and most should move up...like way up. By the way, I'm 69, usually, shoot around par, and have been Mens and now Senior Men's Club Champion multiple times. Actually, you & I hit very similar yardage so I find your videos fun & helpful. My group (mostly seniors), plays a mixture of white & senior tees, play "Skins" and have a good time. Though I have played the Black Tees it's not as much fun with more putts to save par rather than birdy.
Another great video Gen! I agree 100% with you on tee box selection. Golf is a game and games are more enjoyable if you have the opportunity to score Par, Bogey and even Birdie instead of Doubles and Triples all the time. Even low handicappers can get a good irons and short game workout by occasionally playing shorter tees as well. I always look forward to your vids and have learned a lot from them. Thank you.
ZI think you're right Gen. We are currently trying to introduce the Red course for male golfers to try to encourage our older and less skilled players to have more fun and success. They won't play it because "They don't play off the ladies tees". Even though it has completely different ratings for men and women.
Hi Gen. I agree fully. It is so hard to wind back gender stereotypes. The ladies are reluctant to play off the white and blue tees as well. Keep up the great work. Do you ever tour down in Australia as I'd enjoy watching you play live. Take care. MikeE
This is a great Video. I’m a senior and I don’t hit the ball as far as I used to. We play about 6800 yards, but my average drive is about 210. I end up with 6 iron or more on most of the par 4’s. Most of us hit the ball the same distance and better players have better short games. We should be playing shorter tee boxes, or a hybrid set of tees. The course does not want to do a hybrid tee, which would be best for us. I keep trying to convince others that we should be playing shorter tees, and this video helps others realize it might be better moving up a tee box.
Thanks for the nice long video Gen. The more Gen, the better! I can watch those slow motion swings all day. Completely agree about the tee boxes. Playing the appropriate tee box also makes the pace of play better. I'd love to see you do a video breakdown of your swing, maybe a comparison between your swing on Cinderella Story vs present day.
comments: difference between my courses yellow and white tees is 300 yards, doesn't sound much but amazing difference it makes. Even yellows are long at 6500 yards, but that is where my level comps are played from, so no choice. GIR is based on scratch players, for your average bogey golfer, add 1. Still fun just change expectations. Like the occasional slo-mo, can see where your power comes from. Nice swing I like the way you gave the ground a bad look when you pulled that approach shot 😊 Don't give up the voice overs, you have the most soothing voice on you tube.
Going up to the red tees is a great way to get practice for your short approach. If I play from the back I’m always hitting longer irons and hybrids at the green. From the forward tees I’m smacking wedges a lot more.
Exactly! And the wedges are the scoring clubs. You can’t expect to stuff it from 200 but if you start doing that from 100, it will benefit you no matter what tee you’re playing from! Those are the 💵 shots!
I agree with you, Gen, that par-3 holes have less room for error. And on the courses I play, the par-3's typically have the highest hole index (meaning they are rated the easiest). I've never understood that. We have several par-3's over 200 yards, uphill. Some of the guys I play with have hit DRIVER on them. The par-3's also seem to be more protected (bunkers, water, etc). Typically the par-5's are the lower index (1, 2, 3 & 4), but I look at the par-5's as "birdie opportunities". Doesn't make sense. I guess it's because the USGA puts such a premium on DISTANCE. I know some of my friends say we should treat all holes (regardless of par) as par-3's because eventually we're always hitting an approach shot into them. But if you don't position your ball well (off the tee, or on your 2nd shot on par-5's) ... Your thoughts?
To be honest, I never really focus on indexes. Although when I play matches with some of my friends who aren’t pros and have to give them strokes, I find it funny when the par 5s are index 1s because like you said, you have much more room to make a birdie versus on par 3s. I dont really know how indexes work 🤷🏻♀️
Nice little change up with out the commentary! I liked this one, i was focusing more on the clubs you were using!! And by the way, you were killing it, brought the "A" game for sure!!
Great eagle - awesome! Very interesting point you make. There are often courses/holes I play which I know I can’t reach in regulation and I just play that as if it is an added stroke for par! Usually it’s those index 1 holes - I just aim to bogey them and I would be happy
This is such an informative, quality video and channel... 15K subscribers, yet I see channels showing people just opening toys out of a box for 5mins gets 6.5m! 🤷♂️ World's gone mad! Keep up the great work Gen! 🇲🇾❤🇶🇦

Great vid Gen. Love the outdoor sounds and ball striking sounds too. I do miss your narration to set up each hole and what you're thinking for each shot. If you can blend the two I think it would be perfect. Also, love the slow motion shots every once in a while. So cool.
Love the raw footage and in particular the Slow Motion shots, shows your form and key points in the swing very well. Would love to see more in that format. As for tee boxes, I play back as far as I can for 1 simple reason. When playing well, my distances still keep me short of most of the trouble (water, traps, etc). I play the Par 5 as 3 shot holes in most cases which means short wedges. My best scores to this point from about 6900-7000. That being said, I hit to most of the LPGA Trackman averages for carry distance. Definitely agree that people should try different tee boxes as it will give the course a different look/feel. Keep up the videos and when you get back on tour, look forward to seeing you in competition.
Yeah which is funny. Sometimes when I play off a shorter tee box, I actually have to think more because more hazards come into play. So contrary to what people might think.. shorter tees don’t necessarily mean “easier” tees
@@GenevieveLingGolf I played 6750y today to work on longer clubs. Only hit 2 bunkers, 1 on a Par 3 that was an over draw. The other, same thing on an over draw on a Par 5. Playing back allowed me to stay out of hazards and play from the fairway or slightly in the 1st cut. Had I played many of those shots from standard tees, would have been a lot more bunkers and water. It was good to see that emphasis in the video try different tees.
Thanks Gen, great stuff as always! The challenge is when playing with a betting group that plays off different tee boxes and making that fair. Especially when people don't keep official handicaps.
Your swing is a work of art! Once we get out of lockdown here in Melbourne I’m going to get some lessons and tell the pro that your swing is the template 😎
Great vid again gen. For the past couple of weeks we've been playing off forward tees (mostly due to wet/onset of winter) and have really enjoyed it. Of course the slope/handicap factor is reduced but it really satisfying breaking 80 easily whilst not playing particularly well... It's still a challenge (I've only played same 3 courses this year) but it gives you a different perspective of the courses & gives you a bit of hope that you can still get the ball on the green in regulation even with a bad drive./shot.
Like the slo-mo's and different angles. I don't necessarily care about the tee box but rather where the yardage differences occur. For example, if the yardage differences are on par 5's but the other holes are similar in length then I can play off the longer tee box. If the yardage differences are on par 3's or a couple of par 4's, then, I would play off the shorter tee box. I would rather shoot an 82 off the longer tee box than a 78 off the shorter, however. The longer tee box challenges me more and forces me to develop more versatility with my game. It's the challenge of golf for me, not the score, that I enjoy, for the most part. Love the video. Look forward to the next. Thanks....
That’s great! However a lot of people don’t have the same great thinking that you do and just care about scoring, but then play off the wrong tees and complain about not being able to score well! 🤦🏻♀️😂
I kinda prefer your raw footage format without commentary and u summed it up after the round. I agree with your thought on swing distance wrt tee boxes.
Awesome! I do like hearing some of the golf shots! Maybe there is a balance between the two you could try. Like just talking between the shots or something. Love the content though, keep it coming!
Hi Gen I noticed you do a full swing with your irons now. Before you had that punch shot with your irons I’m new to your channel have been following you for awhile now your very good thanks
Yes, yes, yes, your exactly correct, tee selection should be based on a golfer current abilities. Several years ago I read a book by famed golf course architect Alister MacKenzie, when he designed a course the hole layouts were always based on the one shot, two shot and three shot theory. About the same time I started tracking my rounds with an Arccos system and started applying a formula to determine the total course length I should be playing. Average 7 iron distance x 18 + average driver distance x 14 gave me a total course distance of 5600 yards. I move up a tee box and it changed my golf life, I was have much more fun and playing golf courses they way they were designed to play. Yes Gen, you are right, please shout it to the world.
I’m glad!! We get so caught up on tee boxes and which ones we “should” be playing based on societal standards when if fact, all that matters is which one is going to be the best for our ability and for us to have a GOOD TIME! Nobody wants to be suffering on the golf course!
That’s what it’s about! Everybody’s different and sometimes people will say it makes it unfair (for people to play off different tees and compete with one another) but also.. if you are teeing off 50y further than somebody and forcing them to play off the same tees as you.. that’s unfair for them!
I'll say this about distance, tees, etc. I never got better than bogie golf. But I was a long hitter. So it never matter if I played from the blues. My 'troubles' usually came closer to the pin.
We have to play off visitor tees. Unfortunately these are often in front of the red tees because it is so far forward that the hole looses its character. What I mean is that off a “normal” tee you would play off you would have hit over water and the further back more water. But the forward tee you loose that experience. Same with if there is a dog leg if too far forward it just becomes a straight hole. I agree with playing the tees to your ability but often you can lose the intent of the hole.
I benefit from hearing you talk your way through your shots. Even so, I enjoyed this vlog. I agree with you, regarding the tee boxes. Some of the players feel they must play from the tips, or they aren't manly. Unfortunately, they tend to slow the pace of play.
Loved the content. We don't have a choice in competitions and most Par 3s are 170 -200 off whites for men at my club. For social/practice I agree with you for enjoyment sake. Tomorrow I'm playing of the Reds (Ladies tee box) with just my irons as an exercise and to focus taking a drill from my lessons to the course.
I recently played 9 holes off the reds and never played off that tee on the west course before and it was actually so fun! A lot of thinking as well. I think people don’t realize how much fun it can be to mix things up sometimes. I’m glad you do that and I’m sure you find it benefits your game as well 😄
With the cost of green fees on premium course like TPCKL, I think visiting it, I would play a tee-box that suits me and go back home with a good feeling of the course. Instead of making it harder. Yes, I can carry 290 on a drive, but how straight this will be all the time. I don't practice enough to be very consistent in the fairway. If I would be a member, than, that would be different. That would be experimenting and learning new aptitudes.
True, but we should at least be able to practice irons more than woods! Irons are the scoring clubs. I feel like in general with the woods, we just want to get them around the general proximity with regards to distance and direction to keep them in play and give ourselves the best opportunity at scoring 😊
like it again Gen! Nice job as usual. I only would like it if you put some text a bit longer on the screen. English isn't my first language (as you probably already did find out by my comments 😂😂) and now i just not have enough time to read it. and to put the video every time on pause doesn't make it better to watch. keep up the good work and i hope you can go out to play tournaments soon again.
I really didn’t know that! And okay, I will make sure to keep them on longer. I have been trying to do so but will take more consideration for the non-native English speakers next time 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes, you are right Gen we can’t always reach par 4s in regulation and we can’t all drive 300 yds but that’s why we (mere mortals) have handicaps, to compensate for that, not to shorten the course to make it easier. To watch the PGA men play driver, wedge every time gets a bit boring.
Gen, have you ever played all the tee boxs on a slow day on course? A couple days ago I was the only one on my home course due to cool rain and played a shot on each tee box for a few par 3 holes. This was an eye opener for me to really feel the distance difference for club selection.
Back here in England we have 3 tee boxes only. Mens competition tees which are used once a week. Mens tee of the day which is used for all casual rounds of golf. Lastly the Ladies tee. We do not get to choose which tees we use as most clubs will not permit you to choose the tees you play off. My home course permits us to play the competition tees but many courses do not. It's only when you come to an American style course that has 5 or 6 tee boxes. We don't have that here.
@@GenevieveLingGolf That is correct. All the men play the same tees regardless of age or ability. Boys will use the Ladies tees up to around age 11 and then play from the mens tees. We usually have a competition on a sunday where we play the competition tees and that 1 round per week is what our handicap is based on. Once men become seniors at age 55 then the seniors have their own competitions and most of the time they compete from the tees of the day. But if they take part in a mens competition then they have to play the back tees with the rest of us. Although I am old enough to join the seniors I will not be playing with them as I don't want a lower handicap from competing on a short golf course - I will stick with playing full length.
And of course, this relates to your experience getting kicked off the blue tees a few videos ago. As you so delicately put it, that's just ridiculous. Even their solution was silly - if you are a woman with a tour card, you can play from the blues. So, the 2 handicap amateur woman who can hit a 260 yard drive can't? In the meantime, a 25 handicap man with a 180 yard drive can? One course in Utah made their tips the red tees and their forward tees gold. The reason: it's a retirement community and the 70+ year old men insisted they would not play from the "Lady's tees." No kidding. It's been encouraging to see courses suggest tee boxes by handicap; or, better, by average drive distance. It's nice that you've addressed this issue in several places among your videos. Terrific videos, by the way.
Hi Gen, enjoyed the video very much, even the slightly different presentation, the content is really helpful, as always. This presentation helps to concentrate only on one thing, your voice-over OR the text you write inbetween. In the previous videos both, reading and listening combined, are a bit hard to follow, I have to stop the video in order to read every detail you present - not to forget the images with the scenery are really beautiful and enjoyable, especially if you don't live in that area and like to see nice landscapes from countries far away. This video was easier to follow because the voice-over and the text details did not "overlap" - or maybe I'm getting old - haha. Always enjoing the banter/jokes of the group, or the discussion what went wrong with the shot, so it would be nice to hear more of that and the cheers over an eagle and so on (if your playing partners are ok with that ;). Maybe you could mix the different styles and select what's best for the given footage, voice-over when it's windy and the mike didn't pick up much of the original reactions. Even the music part was very nice, you don't always have to put in as much information as possible. Looking forward to seeing the next one... Cheers!
This is very good advise. You talk about distance and tee boxes heaps, but doesn't tee boxes have something to do with your handicap? Even if you don't hit far but based on your handicap determines which tee box you hit from?
Good video, Gen. I wonder what it would take to get people past their own egos and play the right tees? Maybe you should make up little "Move Up One Box" cards to hand out to give people permission to play from the right place. Better yet: "Gen Sez: MOVE UP ONE BOX"
Haha this was already me trying to be “politically correct” and get the message across without getting people mad so if I did that, I think I would get some “fun” comments!! 😂😂
@@GenevieveLingGolf We played behind a foursome today, playing from the tips. It was painful to watch, and we had plenty of time to do it, since only one of the four was a solid player. The others struggled to hit it 200. Meanwhile, a question for you: how many languages get included in your on-course banter with your friends? I thought I heard bits of 3.
As a disabled golfer here in the UK, we sometimes get special tees for our disabled competitions. But generally I will have to play off the back tees with other able-bodied golfers in club competitions. If I just play outside of competitions we can choose a tee box, except the back tees - this is because clubs like to keep them nice for club compititions. When you play with your friends, is it serious practice as a pro or do you play for fun?
What differences do you find when you play off the special tees and the back tees? 😊 When we play together it depends! Sometimes we do a lot more practice and hitting shots around but sometimes we do little competitions to make more “serious”!
@@GenevieveLingGolf if we play one of higher ranked courses there can be 5 different tee boxes and it can be as much as 650/700 yards. Most of the time we play the yellow tees - a big percentage of courses in the UK have red, yellow and white tees. Really enjoy watching your channel and graceful swing. Wishing you every success.
I like the point you're trying to make & it is a good one. We have issues with slow play & if people played the tee boxes as you say it would also speed up play. Nice EAGLE. Just one thing, i noticed you missed some shots right & I think its because you seem to be aiming too far right on occasion. Keep up the good work
Yeah definitely! With regards to the aiming right thing, yes you’re right! Because I play a draw, I tend to overcompensate on holes where there’s danger on the left to make sure I don’t draw it to the danger (when it reality, I just end up hitting straight to where I’m aiming! 😂😂). Definitely something im working on improving 😊
@@GenevieveLingGolf - There was a specific situation with the ball below your feet, on the fluffy rough you hit a fairway wood straight into the tree on the right - if you had aimed more to the left, the ball would have avoided the tree with a little fade...
so the course I play on the blue is the farthest, then white, then gold, then red. I've been playing the gold tees and with my handicap rating, I've enjoyed it alot more.
When I was 50 I played the back tees. Now at 69, I play white and/or senior tees. I can still play level par golf from our back tees (my short game better be on that day) but it's much more enjoyable from the short tees. By the way, did you win your match against your friends?
Ummm It’s great to watch you play but would also love to see you have a few fun comps with some of your friends. On a different issue-you often talk about keeping a positive attitude. I think that it seems natural for you because you have a lovely relaxed nature. Is that correct? When are you coming to Australia to play? (After Covid-19 of course) Any plans to play in any comps. Would love to watch you play live. Trevor-Melbourne
Haha noted. In the past they have not performed as well as the other videos and they take a lot more effort because I have to record more than one person so it’s a little tough having to run around but I’ll try to incorporate them if and when possible 😊
Also, I am actually NOT a very relaxed person I’m quite type A so I think attitude is really something you can choose! You can either be stressed or be happy- it’s your choice! 😄
Wow you actually replied to me! That’s really cool-I feel honoured. Thank you. I understand what you are saying. We are allowed to play golf again in Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 now after being shut down for 3 months or more due to covid. Keep up the great work, you are awesome.

Thank you!! And thank you for watching the whole thing! Glad you liked it 😄😄
Your swing is stunningly elegant and smooth!
You have the best golf videos. I have enjoyed golf so much more because of you. Every time I start to get angry for a bad shot, I just imagine you laughing off your bad shots.
That is so great so hear!!!! Thank you!
I like your on-course commentary as it really helps me to understand what to think about when I play.
I can see myself trying to pull off some of the shots you have lined up here but knowing that even a pro has
5.04 "That spread though" 😆 she's hilarious!
Totally I agree with you about Tee box !! And nice slow video ~~
I love seeing the percentages ......great work sharing this information with us .....✨
I’m glad! 😊
Thanks Gen. l enjoyed hearing the banter with your playing partners, celebrating the eagle and moving on from the shots that didn’t go to plan. Loved hearing your thoughts about tee boxes and the focus on playing to your capabilities. I think I am a better player when I stick to my game. Thank you for inspiring this approach to enjoy golf.
You are DEFINITELY a better player when you stick to your game ! 😄
Thank you!! That's so nice to hear! 😄
You are addressing some very interesting topics in your videos. Different from other golf videos. Very well done.
Thank you! Glad you’re liking them 😊
I enjoy hearing your thought process on how to play a hole, but also enjoyed hearing the laughter and chit chat from the group.
Definitely. I wasn’t hitting it as close as I needed to in order to make more birdies. Can’t expect to make 20footers all round
Super. You're such an outstanding communicator and mixing up video styles keeps things interesting. Great sensible advice about choosing a tee box. Your golf thoughts just resonate with me. Thanks Gen.
I love voice overs. I like watching you play.🙋🏾♀️
Best pro golfer youtube channel I've found so far. Keep up the great work!
💥🏌️♀️
Your swing and attitude ate awesome. Helping my game a lot. Keep vids coming.
Eagle on camera? That's awesome Gen! Congrats!
From the blue or gold of my home course (also a PGA standard course) - my average approaches will be:
par 4s: 139 yards or 165 yards
par 3's :168 yards or 193 yards
par 5's: 83 yards for blue and gold - but we will need longer lay up shots from the gold.
Beautiful as always, Gen, her smile , the courses, and the info, much appreciated, thankyou
Love your videos! Just joined TPC, hope to see you there!^^
Love some of the slo-mo swings, shows great consistency, and something I need to get grooved, I live in hope
250y for 9 holes! So it’s actually almost 30y a hole. Yet most would play off blues on the east and west course without considering the distance gap😅
Interesting dialogue regarding Tee boxes Gen and so very true! Congratulations with the hole in one by the way👍
Great to hear you and your friends interact during the round. Positive energy ... and the palm frond that jumped out and hit your ball, relatable!
If I could turn my hips through like you do I would drop my handicap a ton.
😅😅
What a swing and tempo...I liked this one.
Wonderful!! I hate the whole idea of ladies tees.. they are just tee boxes! They should be for everyone and anyone to use 😊
Hi Gen. I agree fully. It is so hard to wind back gender stereotypes. The ladies are reluctant to play off the white and blue tees as well. Keep up the great work. Do you ever tour down in Australia as I'd enjoy watching you play live. Take care. MikeE
Great video Gen. I enjoyed hearing your perspective on the tee box selection. Keep up the great work, and keep smiling!!
I love the voice overs so more of that please :) But I love this series of vids
They will make a return 😬
I'd love to see you do a video breakdown of your swing, maybe a comparison between your swing on Cinderella Story vs present day.
comments:
difference between my courses yellow and white tees is 300 yards, doesn't sound much but amazing difference it makes. Even yellows are long at 6500 yards, but that is where my level comps are played from, so no choice.
GIR is based on scratch players, for your average bogey golfer, add 1. Still fun just change expectations.
Like the occasional slo-mo, can see where your power comes from. Nice swing
I like the way you gave the ground a bad look when you pulled that approach shot 😊
Don't give up the voice overs, you have the most soothing voice on you tube.
Love all the comments. Will take all of them into consideration! Thank you!
Digging the chill music on the 2nd 9!
I dont really know how indexes work 🤷🏻♀️
6:30... Couldn't happen to a nicer gal.
Congratulations, Gen. 👍👍
Haha can’t lie, I watch mundane videos that have millions of views as well. And then I wonder how they get millions of views...and realize I am now one contributing to that million 😂😂
@@GenevieveLingGolf See Gen... you're part of the problem and the solution! 🤷♂️🤣 Hopefully RUclips will give you a bump on their feeds and more people will subscribe... I know I'm telling people! 😁🇲🇾
Great advice, loved the Eagle hloe out. Ego plays a massive part in the game especially for men, if ya can't reach, move up the tea like Gen said. 💜
Tend to agree with you, Gen. well said
Great vid again gen.
Yeah, it's definitely nice to mix it up and see the course from a new perspective!
@@GenevieveLingGolf I know. Just explaining my point of view. Not trying to change or instruct others. Keep up the good work.
I do like the voice over betters nice to hear the thought process. But this was cool and nice hole out for the eagle.
They will make a return 😬
Absolute quality, the shot percentages are interesting, if more of us amateurs could learn them we would be far less disappointed with our golf 🤣
I kinda prefer your raw footage format without commentary and u summed it up after the round. I agree with your thought on swing distance wrt tee boxes.
great eagle!
I do them both! But I have been trying to play the right club and not always take more club so that’s probably why you see more full swing shots now 😄
@@GenevieveLingGolf cool 👍 I’m looking forward to watching your short game video tonight. Because you have an excellent short game that’s for sure
Great comments on tee boxes!
Nice Eagle Gen !
Thank you!! 😄
Missing the commentary :( but love the antics on the greens. Wish I could join you for a couple of rounds!! Keep up that great swing and positive EVR
The commentary will be back 😄
After listening to your arguments - I will now play off the RED tees. Hahahahaha!
Haha I say, whatever makes golf fun, go for it!! 😄
I agree...playing white tees is always better for beginners
It's ALL about ability. I often play in foursomes where we hit off three different tee boxes. Love your videos Gen. Waddaplaya!
I agree . Please continue with your commentary while playing.
Love the slo mo. Have you done the yardage book video yet?
Great video!
Thank you! 😃
I think it is great advice. I share your opinion.
Gen - Sometimes it is nice to play a longer yardage just to practice the fairway woods.
I have been trying to do so but will take more consideration for the non-native English speakers next time 🙏🏼🙏🏼
GREAT EAGLE GEN!! I've been playing 44vyears and never had an eagle. You're beautiful.
I find that so interesting. So all men (generally) have to tee off the same tees unless they choose to play off the tournament tees?
105Y ... its basically as good as a hole in 1!!! Amazing Gen!
Haha thank you!! I thought it was pretty awesome too!! 😄
When we play together it depends!
6:20-6:50... Eagle Time! 🦅
so the course I play on the blue is the farthest, then white, then gold, then red.
I realize this video was a year old just watched it. I like your coments on tee boxes. golf has alot of peer pressure and many different opinions. slow play is a fun killer. looking for balls in the snake infested wilderness is no fun either.
