Not sure. It's like a hybrid of the Eddie Reader version and Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer. This one - I love the tune and her singing overall, but in places she lapses into tortured Loyd Grossman-esque vowels (e.g the "cup of keuuuueeeuuyndness" at 0:56) that are typical of a "concert Scots" accent that some singers feel they have to adopt when singing folk songs formally.
...the boring old pessimists who go on and on like a broken record, unable to accept that all countries have problems and open their eyes to the beautiful country of Scotland that they live in - such as thestevo46. Please Stevo, if there is one country in the world that doesn't suffer from similar problems, tell me what it is, because it sounds like a crackin place!
Well I have obviously got some kind of a problem here because I have been a Scotsman for 55 years but never heard it sung to this tune before. It's a ruebbesh version. What's so wrong with the proper version? ( I'd still gie her one though)
@rainblaze1 Just tell me what is worth keeping about modern day Scotland. So go on, HAVE have a guid greet to yersel. We spend too much time living in the past. You'll be drinking a toast to the Jacobeans next. It's embarrasing.
There is so much to love about Scotland, the people, the scenery, the wonderful musicians including Edie Reader, Moira Kerr and Dougie MacLean!
That is simply powerful... I'm looking forward to finally go live in Scotland. You guys' culture is brilliant.
One of the most beautiful things Ive ever heard.
...And this of course is how it should sound. Gaun yersel hen!
Beautiful version !
Happy new year !
Best wishes

I love this 100000000 stars
Someone kindly tell me what she is doing with her hands. Is it sign language? Secret code? Hawaiian dancing?
The singing is just stunning, though.
Feeling it

You beat me to it. Nice singer, but Auld Lang Syne should be sung in a particular way - and this is not it.
