10/10 acting. park jihoon (main character) is a very well-known and liked former kpop idol. those slap scenes were very real and i'm pretty sure the guys in the classroom reacting was genuine because they weren't told about it beforehand, he also did it like 14 times in a straight casual manner😭
It really is that way. Once you are marked an "outcast" (there is a korean word for it that I can't spell) you can't move schools without your reputation following you meaning you will be bullied at the new school too. Schools in Korea have big troubles because of it.
Blame the idiot adults who literally do nothing. Can't be mad at the kid to resorting to extreme violence. I would do the same if I kept getting bullied and no one tried to help.
This is my first time commenting. I just want to clarify some things. School uniforms in most asian countries varies depending on the event and climate. We wear regular uniform on weekdays especially during summer, we also have a specific uniform in winter or cold season (some countries with colder climate), shirt and jogging pants or any comfortable pants during Phys.Ed., high school or college shirt during eventful weeks, etc. South Korea is a country with a cooler temp. That explains why you see a lot of them wearing hoodies, jackets, etc. in dramas.
Oh i see y'all didn't rlly fw the main guy yet (?) from what i've seen, most either liked or related to him from the start, which is why i think this show is so well-loved to begin with. don't get me wrong it's a great drama overall, but i think his acting carried. that and the bromance. but back to the main guy, his default expression and overall demeanor is crazy. he manages to appear indifferent and lifeless except for when his eyes portray sadness (sorry for the essay...) not tryna diagnose a fictional character or anything cuz i'm genuinely unaware but he very much is showing signs of what looks like chronic depression or something (feel like that's safe to assume) and i find it extremely realistic that this is the way he's shown to look, behave, and act. he seems mentally drained but not totally. he's focusing on a "necessity" (education) but doesn't seem to care about ANYTHING else, not any hobbies or personal passions. not even people. his expressions are very limited and his default emotion is numbness. he's blunt and seems to be overly confident because he quite literally is just numb and can't find it in him to care. especially as a "good student". not so much the violence aspect but i do think a lot of us will eventually let out our pent up stress and anger and this guy has been relentlessly bullied and picked on for no good reason so 🤷♀
Weak hero class are not the tall, powerful people we often call The main character, who has a small weight class, does not conform to evil It refers to the incomplete reality that rules evil with evil and coexists between good and evil
bullying is really a terrible thing in korea or japan as far as i know. thats why if a celeb in korea is suspected to be a bully they would be cancelled so terribly. they even have like a separate punishment scale in school for bullying alone (1-6, 6 is for the most extreme bullying).
I watched this show with friends in a day, i constantly want to rewatch because it's a gem. Weak Hero class 1, bloodhound and celebrity are shows that are wow. If you don't jump from your seat at least once, it means you're missing something in the story😂
really enjoyed the reaction! sorry this comment is long. yes bullying is incredibly common in korea as im sure you guys know, but whats even sadder is the control these bullies have over their own lack of consequences. especially if the kid is well off, but also because if school violence is reported on the school it gives a "bad reputation" to the principal or the teacher it was reported to, so instead of fixing the issue they hide it for their own career's benefit. also the hierarchy in the school years is insane. in this series they're all from the same year so it's not shown, but students have to use very formal speech with upperclassmen even if they're only older by a year. once they're not students it isn't like that, but in class the younger grades have to treat the older kids like they are their boss or smth. the laws are also very lacking at protecting these victims simply because their perpetrators are also minors, but citizens are doing what they can to advocate for the victims more and more.
OMG LETSGOOOOOO!! i also highly recommend 'THE KING OF PIGS' i hope you guys also watch this because it so freakjng good!!! it's like a mix of the glory and weak hero but the king of pigs also came out way before these two dramas. you won't regret it.

If you guys are looking for another thriller/action K-drama I highly recommend "Vagabond" it's very underrated but it's sooo good. Has u on edge almost every ep. 10/10

They comment on a lot of things because they don't know the context of the story. This is a webtoon (comic) and it has a lot of history with bullying that is more than that. And in particular this drama shows us how the story begins but not how it continues This is only the beginning of a story. don't get so excited ❤

Having said that I was joking because this series is actually a prequel to the the original version that comes in a webcomic form! (although we now have confirmed 2nd season coming that should pick up where the comic starts) The webcomic is a lot about school gangs and the relations between them so yeah they actually do have a bully network in this world (idk if it is a thing irl, I would hope not but who knows at this point)

This scene always gets my heart pumping it’s so thrilling but why tf is the rest of the show so heart shattering. It’s horribly depressing and my heart still hurts thinking about it. The revenge scene ate though. I am so thankful the WEBTOON of it continuing from there like the end of the live action version exists. But also the comic is also heart wrenching. He still hasn’t woken up someone please tell the author to make him wake up after this final fight I BEGGGG. 😾😾

"Senpai" its a japanese word. This is a korean show, so the Korean equivalent would be "sunbae".
