Brett Mattei Live @ Feel Groove Radio 12-17-24, Mattei was immersed in music from an early age, growing up in a household where his father, was a lifelong guitarist and musician. Early on, he was drawn to classic and southern rock, alongside a touch of reggae. However, it wasn’t until he heard The Fat of the Land by The Prodigy that Mattei was introduced to the world of electronic music.
Brett’s musical journey began in the realm of trance, where he was captivated by Above & Beyond’s iconic Tri-State album. From there, his taste evolved quickly, gravitating toward deep and minimal tech house, and eventually leading him to discover his true passion for techno. In 2019, Mattei became a key partner at Morph, a pioneering club in St. Petersburg, FL, where he played an instrumental role in pushing the boundaries of techno in the state. Under his direction, Morph became a hub for forward-thinking bookings, hosting groundbreaking artists such as DJ Stingray, SHDW, Obscure Shape, Perc, Henning Baer, O Phase, Keith Carnal, and many more.
