@@lozadazx14 yes!!! So pumped for you guys. That's going to be such a blast to redo. Thanks for saving an old two stroke and giving it a second chance at life haha. Keep me posted on the build
Wow! This is the definition of doing a rebuild the right way. Those case covers are sick. I bet that it is an amazingly smooth machine. Awesome build man.
Thank you dude! Yeah man, I couldn't believe that I was able to find those Pro Circuit covers. I just happened to stumble across the clutch cover, which is even rarer than the ignition cover. Very fortunate to source both.
Thank you dude! Not a 100% replica, for example Dunlops over Bridgestones, using my own sponsors on the graphics etc, but for the most part, the PC parts and carbon was what I wanted to maintain 💨🙌🏼
@@coloradodirtbike5930 I really appreciate the kind words🙏. We all do it to open the garage door and love what we see, I'm definitely very stoked on it.
i am currently doing something similar with my dads dr650. i am attempting to use a 97 exc shock with different spring and valve, and yz450 forks with appropriate springs and valving. other people have made it work, im hoping to keep as much original to the bike, visually.
@@wrecked3362 thank you dude! I'm unsure if you can buy just the plates from Pete for the frame, perhaps? Do you have Instagram? I left his handle, I'd message him if possible 🙌🏼
Greg, check out my friends over at two strokes only. He makes a lot of hard to find kx parts. Billet cases, heads, AF conversion parts and all kinds of fun stuff.
Yessir! I've got him followed already. Unfortunately for my wallet, I'd LOVE to do an AL frame KX sometime in the future, and he will be one of my first phone calls haha!
The factory KYB forks for sure, but other than that, I'd say the Envy hubs were next. They are wicked nice, I was "wowed" when I opened the box. So cool they make them for 89+ bikes, so people can buy cool billet hubs for their builds. Other companies only make them for current bikes. Bike already has 3.6 hours on it! I need to get out on it more but with two little ones, it's harder to find time to ride in general haha!
Hey Greg, I am looking all around to find a 2002 simple green pro circuit seat cover. If you know anyone I can reach out to or can provide any insight that would be great, thanks!
@@GregHitchko You are a lucky guy. Most wives aren’t thrilled about their husband’s expensive hobbies. It’s a showpiece and also probably the best bike of that era. It’s one of those bikes that makes u think… “should it be ridden or do I hang it up on the wall and look at it?” Great work!
Sweet build but kinda sucks watching a video with so many sponsors. Just makes it hard to relate because the average person can’t build this without the support. Sweet build though nonetheless. Just be cool to see a budget build just as good.
Thanks dude, you're right! This is no where near your average build, or intended to be. Average and budget are both relative terms to describe bike builds. The "sponsored" portions of the video you see, actually make up the smallest piece of the money pie. Anybody doing a bike restoration would have to purchase those standard rebuild parts, depending on the starting condition of the bike. This is aside from the micro polished transmission, PC porting, and hubs, I'll give you that, I'd consider those splurge items to the average person. 80% of the costs derive from the rare, unobtainable PC parts, factory parts and suspension, carbon, etc that are incredibly hard to find. Once you find, then it's time to decide whether you want pony up the cash for them. It's a whole different ball game, which I made the conscience financial decision to do so. To each their own. Thanks for watching, Jeremy!
😂 took a mint oem kx250 for 5 grand and made a 25 grand bike out of that you never will get anything for that bike couldn't sell it for 5 grand even...

In what reality cost you 20k in parts?
You pay up the wazoo for the rare PC parts and carbon fiber. Everything just adds up.
