The line between Atrocitus and Hal "The Green Lanterns are failures" "Yeah, with our saving lives and all..." "Who avenges the ones you cant save?" In the comics the Guardians are pretty widespread but spread thin. There are lots of times the green lanterns just either, dont make it in time to stop evil from occuring, or they just dont show in the first place. Thats where the Red Lanterns come in, punising those who commit...... atrocities.

And this HOUSE CAT, got so fucking angry that a red ring came to him, and he murdered his killers, gaining vengeance for his dead master. Now I just wanna know what Atrocitus' reaction was when his newest member to the red corps was a cat. He was probably so insulted until Dexstarr slashed his cheek, and Atrocitus was probably like "THIS CAT DARES TO CUT ME???!!! THIS KITTY IS A GOOD KITTY!"
Atrocities is a reminder from sector 666 in the DC universe who lost his wife and child, then received his ring because of that. But imagine losing your wife and child right in front of your eyes. He's mainly an anti hero. He takes vengeance on those who wrong others, using rage to give himself the power to do so
Bad guy with good motives.
I'd say a Chaotic Neutral or Lawful Evil.
His Red Corps believe in vengeance as justice. They answer the cries of the dead who scream for revenge. You can imagine that this doesn't always mean their murderous ways are good. But in the end, they're not really evil or villains. They're just very extreme in their definition of balance.
He is whatever one of those answers that would make you rage the most.
