  • Yet again, another TikTok recipe lol this one was very intriguing - Vegan Garlic Knots made with TOFU?? I had to try it. I also made a sweet version at the end with the leftover knots (my personal fav of the 2). Let me know what you guys think!

    Maybe add like 1/4 to 1/2 cup of warm water and a packet of yeast so its like actual pizza dough. That would prevent it from getting dense, you would just have to wait for it to rise.

    I sauté my garlic with a tablespoon of butter, then add in a bunch more butter, then strain it and set the butter aside. Then I mix the cooked garlic solids in with my bread dough. Then I bake the knots and halfway through baking I brush my butter on top, then I brush them again when they come out of the oven. Then I sprinkle with Maldon. Adding the garlic solids is a way to get your dough more flavorful.

    There is a shortage of soy right now throughout the world. Iowa is the biggest soy producer in the United States so I'd look into the effects of covid on farming in Iowa.

    The way i do it is spread the all the dough out, spread olive oil or vegan butter, Italian seasoning blend, fresh minced garlic, vegan mozzarella(by far the best is the miyokos or however its spelled the cashew mozzarella wheel). And then roll up and cut into rolls. The exact same way you make cinnamon rolls. Bake at 350 for like 20 minutes. I do the same thing but with marinara instead of the olive oil and its soooo good too

    this is super similar to a traditional chinese food! the chinese one is made out of tofu skin not the actual tofu meat, reallllly delicious

    Wow I need to try this because I love a good carb but I'm lacking in my protein consumption lately so this actually sounds useful.
    For garlic knots, I definitely would have had garlic/garlic butter on them while they were in the oven. That might help the flavor get more incorporated

    I’m sure you already know this but in case you don’t, liquid measuring cups and dry ingredient measuring cups are different :) the measuring cup you had the flour in is meant for liquids only! 🖤

    There is a tofu shortage or something, I've been to a couple of restaurants and they said they can't get tofu right now... how weird is that! I saw you recipe on tiktok and tried it and it was SOOO good! BOMB! 💖🤗

    Regular pizza dough is vegan friendly and you use that same dough to make garlic knotts... and since it uses yeast they’re not dense and doughy 🤷‍♀️ ig the tofu ones you made are good if you’re looking for extra protein and it’s quicker since you don’t have to let the yeast rise tho

    it looks like you may have used a different type of tofu, she uses silken which is much softer and creamy, so maybe that makes a difference
