    This is my honest review of Business by Design (course by James Wedmore) but don't take my word for it... watch James' video series here 👉 vidpromom.com/rise

    My very 1st thought was as soon as you said it was your 1st time doing a review of a course... I knew you were an affiliate...which really isn't all that honest. Especially with the air quotes you did with your fingers as you said honest review. The more transparent and honest way would of to let your audience know upfront that your an affilaite..

    Hi Meredith - been watching you for a while, but THIS was a very helpful video for me. Helped me to decide that right now, BBD is probably not for me. Thank you for your honesty!

      Hey Sarb!! Thanks! I’m glad this was helpful! It always feels good to know you have clarity in a decision, either way. I’m curious what made you decide it wasn’t right for you!

    Business by Design? The Rise of what CEO? Most of these courses are designed to make more money for the owner!

    • @meredithmarsh
      @meredithmarsh  3 года назад +2

      That’s one way to look at it, but BBD is where I learned how to stop treating my business like a hobby and treat it like a real business. For someone with little knowledge on business at all, it’s how I learned. Of course the creator makes money. That’s how business works.

      @@meredithmarsh thank you the above comment made me second guess this but your answer cleared it up

      I get the sentiment, but fundamentally businesses are in business to make money. NOTHING would happen if there wasn't the potential to make profit--and honestly, what I care about (as a business owner) is whether these courses (etc.) actually A) help me drive value to my customers effectively, and B) help us build our business. The only "businesses" I dislike are the snake oil salesman type...where they might get you to part with your cash once...until you find out that they're not offering anything of real value.

    I appreciate the review but in the show notes, I seriously feel it would be more "honest' to post that you are an affiliate upfront, same as you do in the video, which is awesome! Or add to the title Affiliate. Besides this feedback, great video!

    Oh wow I joined BBD too! Just last year.. I still have not got thru it all 😆 It’s tough as a RUclipsr because we already have our content flow down and yes James definitely flips it all upside down. I was like yep, yep with all of your points here. It’s definitely an amazing program, well worth the money and the RISE video series is a must watch for anyone. Great to know another video creator in the community!

    I'm working on a series of audiobooks, it is a digital product but I'm not sure it's scaleable like a course. I don't really want to teach but entertain. Undecided if I should send that much and if it will be applicable to my kind of digital product. 🤔

      Great question Sandra! I’m not familiar with audiobooks as a business model but you can actually speak with a bbd alumni to ask. Shoot me an email meredith@vidpromom.com and I’ll send you the link!

    Is it worth it if you are not on Facebook? I would not be able to access anything that is posted on there. I have had bad experiences when I bought a course before and found out that most of the interaction was on Facebook and I could not access that part.

    • @meredithmarsh
      @meredithmarsh  4 года назад +1

      There is a FB group (it's really great!) but all of the course content is on a separate platform where you get a username and password. The FB group is really for having a community aspect to the course. Any live trainings or live coaching calls take place on Zoom... so to answer your question, it's definitely worth it even if you don't want to participate in the community!

      @@meredithmarsh thanks so much.
      Yes I have bought courses where I can access all the course training. But they did their life events in the Facebook group too. I am glad to hear he is using Zoom instead. Thanks for answering my question.

    Would love to know the price point of these programs. No one seems to mention that which makes me think it's a pretty high investment.

    • @meredithmarsh

      Pricing isn’t always the same every time they’re open but I put some info about that on the blog post associated with this video.

      Thank you!@@meredithmarsh At $3k or a little higher I can feel ok about that. In the health space (where my market is) I am used to seeing programs for $10k plus. I was recently pitched a 'mastermind' group for $11k that I didn't see have hardly any value. And then there are courses that are $15k and even more. I believe everyone should be rich, but at some point it becomes unconscionable and just feels greedy and gross.

    Ive been listening to James’ podcast and I’ve been kind of conflicted as to whether or not this course would work for me. I have a clothing brand that I’m honestly just looking for some guidance on how to run it properly to grow it, and the more I look into this it sounds like it’s more just for people that want to create courses 🤔

    • @meredithmarsh
      @meredithmarsh  2 года назад +1

      BBD is really great for a scalable or leveraged business model like digital. Not sure whether that would work for a clothing brand but I know some people in BBD help other people with getting designs into production and stores and stuff, all digitally.
