Thank you for sharing your experiences and the Etsy nitty gritty 😊 I haven’t opened my Etsy store yet, wanted to learn as much as I can first. I truly appreciate your insight and the tidbits from the lovely people commenting 🥰
Ugh. The processing time fiasco. I have a lot of “made to order” items, so I run into this a lot, especially during high volume/holiday time. Really love your content so far! It’s so relatable it’s hard not to chime in, even tho I should be working 😬 Thank you for taking the time to compile all this great info! ❤🤗
Happens to me a lot to with my custom items. I'm so happy you are enjoying the channel. I've been working hard to make it both informative and entertaining.
I came across your site today and it opened my eyes. Thank you so much. I made a lot of mistakes, I am going to take my time and review my site. Bless your heart
I should probably double check this is true, but I *believe* that it’s ok to drive clients to your own website by including a business card with their order… I work with a lot of gemstone vendors that do so, and they usually include an exclusive coupon code for 20%-25% off your 1st purchase via their website… I always appreciate this because Etsy still has no way for business owners to enter their resellers permits/UBI for tax exempt supply purchases. I used to buy thousands of dollars worth of gems/jewelry supplies from other small biz owners via Etsy, but can’t justify the 10% state sales tax I shouldn’t have to pay… I think as long as you’re not directing traffic visibly on the Etsy platform, it’s ok to throw in a little card with incentive to make the next purchase on your own website… 😅
I think you're right. This is exactly how I do it. I included a thank you card with a discount code that you can use on my website. I think as long as you don't do it on the platform it is ok. Maybe some other sellers will chime in and let us know for sure.
Agreed. Many people that I purchase goods from are doing this and I love it. It's not taking business away from the platform if you continue to do business with both sides.
You wouldn't believe the amount of times people think that shipping has something to do with processing and then I'm supposed to have something done in 2 days because they paid for express shipping.. 😂 my god how stupid. Or how about all the times that they claim something arrived broken or wasn't the way they wanted it even though there's exact pictures of it and they open a case against your shop and there's absolutely nothing you can do
So this may only be a coincidence but I noticed the first time I received a 2 star rating how my sales went from a consistent $100+ daily to 0 until the buyer edited the review to a 5 star which took 4 days(that was 4 days of no sales).I then started to gain back sales daily and recently I received 3 1- star reviews saying the exact same thing although each product is different and so I thought that that was odd but I can't dispute it with Etsy since Etsy only gives you a few options. The review also seemed like a bot review rather than a genuine one so now my sales are back to no sales. Im not sure but on both times my sales dropped immediately. There is something to this and it is not because people won't buy just by seeing a negative feedback. have you heard of this before?

The scariest for me is breaking one of their rules and getting shut down... Even if just an innocent error. 🥺
Yes, same here. It's like walking on egg shells.
Hey sis, how is then we will fix the shipping problem? Please make a video. Thanks a lot for your efforts!
