This piece doesn't mention the first family of the house. My grandfather, Joseph Palma, built the house, and he and his children, including my mother, moved into it in 1930. They sold it to the Nortons in the 1950s. My grandfather was Italian American, and we think of him as the original godfather. He worked for Henry Ford, and her serve three terms as Borough President of Staten Island. I have vivid memories of the house, which he sold when I was a child.

The anchor (Greg Kelly) of course is the son of former NYC Police Commissioner, Ray Kelly. Greg was also a Marine Corps fighter pilot before going into the news business. Yes, his banging was annoying but as long as there is no damage to the films, I say let bygones be bygones, kapisch?

My grandparents lived DIRECTLY across the street. Not across the street and 'one house over', etc. but DIRECTLY. The mansion was always in straight, head on view through their front windows.
Years later, not too many blocks from 110 Longfellow Road, the real Godfather, Paul Castellano, built his 'White House' on Benedict Road. He used to order pizza from Joe & Pat's. I delivered there a few times, but he always had someone else answer the door. Unlike John Gotti, Big Paul practiced keeping a very low profile. Unfortunately, that didn't do him much good when they bugged his house. lol
