Do the tracks not fit over a new tire? I see that the front tires are pretty worn and also have overspray form paint on them. Also why the chains/tracks on the front over the rear?
most people only run chains on the front because when you have trees in the grapple they keep your rear end from sliding. so you use chains in the front to get traction and not slide. and 1 set of chains is plenty. and when you are chained up on all 4 you lose a TON of power because of how heavy the chains are.
We’ve been told not run tracks on only one axle because of the difference in ratio and the damage it can cause. My guess is their work around was to run worn tires up front. Side note, we run four tracks on our Tigercat 610 and power loss isn’t an issue, the traction however is phenomenal
Running a single set of chains is pretty common I agree, but tracks are completely different. They can add 3-4” to the circumference of the tire which would cause a lot of stress on the drivetrain if not matched on both axles, especially when activating the interlock. If not to match the circumference of the rear then what would the reason be for this brand new machine to have clearly worn tires up front?
@Luke Bryant we run tracks as well. And as long as they are the exact same they are okay. They say not to have a worn track and a new track on the same axel.. same as you would with new tires. And they say it's perfectly ok if you only run them in the front.
This might be the only NEW Weiler S450 video on RUclips 👍🏻👍🏻
chains for the back would help in the hills

@Luke Bryant I've have yet to see ANYONE have a problem only running 1 set of tracks or chains. Even all mechanics say its totally fine.

Why does the new skidder have bald tires on front?
The contractor wanted to save the new ones and run the chains on the old ones first
Since when did they have engine noise. ?
Are they electric where you come from
@@itpv_production7358 I had a 535d couldn't hear it running. Just the limbs breaking when you where skidding
Oh roger. This one is quite throaty sounding. Sound good👍
Mean looks the goods
I guess at 450 would be compared to a 545 cat skidder.
Not 100% sure but probably 525.
this guy @5:00
😂😂😂 don't say it ...
Mean grapple skidded
Id be livered if i bought a new machine and it arrived with bald front tire,s!
The contractor asked for them to be put on with the band tracks. I am assuming to save the new tyres til summer.
You should get tool box meetings in there to bro to get an insight on what other loggers do!! Jah jah mean vids bro love it
