I actually know what a stokermatic is. When I was a kid, we had a coal furnace in our home. It was my job to fill the stokermatic. The shovel was bigger than me.
Very thorough discussion. The sense of smell doesn’t get talked about enough in most videos. When I would take my boys to the wilderness I would ask “What do you smell?” And then I would ask “What did you smell five minutes ago?” Situational awareness should include all six senses (that includes intuition). I call it active awareness. My youngest boy prevented a possible bad situation in Baghdad when he noticed the BO of some Iraqis before they appeared around a corner. He was mindful of the wind direction and he was using active awareness. Semper Fi
If shtf live like a deer during rifle season. Only move at dusk, at night, at dawn, or if absolutely necessary. Make every step deliberate. Use your eyes, ears, and nose. Never move in the open unless you are sure it's safe. An old buck will stand at the edge of a clearing for half an hour to make sure it's safe to move into.
I came up with very simple, evasion techniques when I was in Junior High School, after getting picked up by the gang banging savages that lurked around my school. 1.Never take a short cut down and alley, 2. Stay on the main streets, 3, Go out of my way if need be to avoid trouble, 4. Switch up my routes from time to time, 5. Always keep my head on a swivel.
The government idiots have transponders on a lot of my gear. There is technology to locate anything electronic, whether it is turned on or not. If you carry anything electronic, keep it in a metal container when not in use, move to a new location after using it, especially radios.
Definitely an area that’s hard to do justice by in this medium. And not enough folks out there like you who are teaching hands on - the reality, challenges, and applications for it. 👊
Any time you are held up in a hide sight. You need to flex your muscles ona regular basis. This will keep blood flowing and helps you from getting stiff. So when time comes to can move out quickly. Keep the videos coming. Good stuff.

Those of us who stay in an urban environment believe me you can become invisible by blending in.. We do simply gear up and go hid, on 1 acre of land and let our neighbors try to find us? Let them use a dog! You’ll learn real quick where your gear fits and fails.Great Video!
I wanted to add something after watching the wrap-up. Your videos make me think more about possible scenarios that I might encounter. Having been in the Navy, of course, I still have my Bluejackets Manual. I recently got the Ranger manual to see what I missed in military training that wasn't centered on seamanship. So far... A cheap idea? A can of black pepper! Stops the dogs immediately! Deer runs are never on top of a ridge, rather just below it. They can see over the top without displaying a silhouette on the skyline and look down into the valley. Love the vid!
One thing I would add, but just because I am a Whiskey. Learn two plants in the area that you are going to be operating in before shit goes sideways. Plants that serve multiple purposes. To heal and to nourish but just my thoughts. Great info in the video. Happy trails

I think I’ll be defending my ground until things cool off a bit. If the bodies of the first wave don’t deter the next wave of aggressors, I can be fairly confident I’m not dealing with an intelligent foe.
This is dangerous advice for most ! I'm 28 years old and can run 5 miles sub 30 minutes with ease, drive a nail at 100 yards and have skills beyond most but I'm definetly not dragging my 3 year old or family through the woods because I want to be a Billy badass playing warzone immediately creating my family a bunch of glorified refugees in the type of situation your talking about. For all the realist out there start thinking about self sufficiency, homesteading, farming, learn trades and medical skills anything is better than taking this ignorant advice from a arrogant wannabe gi Joe.
While I will 2nd the trades till I’m blue in the face - I wonder what where or how you understood I was giving advice to head to the hills? Oh, and I agree - gotta watch out for the arrogant types. 👊
Make sure you use non-scented washing soap for yourself and your gear. AND ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENERS EVEN IF THEY'RE NONSCENTED BECAUSE NIGHT VISION AND THERMAL SCOPES CAN SPOT YOU FROM A GOOD DISTANCE. Stay frosty folks 🥷🏴☠️
They are not always that quiet, had one come walking through my camp one morning, not knowing I was there because of the way I had my hootch set up between a couple of Spruce trees. Sounded like someone walking in giant flip-flops. He was right beside my shelter when he realized I was there, then I think only because I rolled over to try to get a look at his feet as he was walking by. They do normally move pretty quiet when they know people are around, unless they are trying to scare the people off.

You can also be tracked by your cellphone unless you disable the GPS and turn on airplane mode. From what I understand, anyway.

Know your environment, zigzag through back yards on different blocks, change direction frequently. Been through that...
As always a great video with lots of great information. Thank you.
Loved it all. Employing counter tracking techniques is something to keep in mind when on the move.
