    After I did a reset of the electronic throttles, I continued my journey towards Rotterdam. And despite 500m of free quay, I was not allowed to stay, so I had to continue, but then another barrier popped up.

    So glad you found this video. I'm Henk-Jan, and besides this channel, you may just come across me online in even more places. Sharing experiences and knowledge via video is always fun.
    If you want to see more from MV Lady Liselot, subscribe to this channel.
    Because I have many (boat) acquaintances who live abroad worldwide, I decided to do the video in English. Are you still with me, and like the channel? You make me happy with a subscribtion and that famous Thumbs Up.
    Nederlands:

    Our family owned a 14m Linssen for many years. I suggest your viewers might enjoy a video (or two) of the interior, engine room and mechanical systems on your yacht - fuel, electrical, water, waste, engines, propulsion etc. Dutch boats are superbly crafted, tidy and easy to maintain. Best in the world. Cheers!

    Hello Henk-Jan
    I have watched most of your videos in the last few days with great pleasure. We ourselves have sailed many of the places you describe with our boat, which is permanently located in Elburg. However, I have two remarks that I believe will make the videos even better:
    1)
    It would be much easier to follow your trips if you insert a map several times during the video.
    2)
    I know you don't like marinas that much, but when you sail through Amsterdam or Rottendom, for example, I miss a lot of information and your suggestions for good berths or ports.
    The best greetings
    Henning Larsen
    Nessie of Denmark

      @MVLadyLiselot  Год назад

      Hello Henning, in some of the video's I added a map with a course I followed, but I skipped that since I had no idea my video's were a guidance to go through The Netherlands. ;-)
      Sorry, I will skip marina's as much as possible, so no guidance on that.
      FYI: Both Amsterdam and Rotterdam, have hardly any public quay's or moorings because of the industrial scenery, so there as just 1, 2, 3 marina's max in those cities.

      mmm, but I do not use the radio at these fixed bridges. I think that it is an huge magnetic field caused by the wiring at the bridge, but I cannot tell, since the gutter was not the case at the trainbridge some minutes later.

    Je storing kan te maken hebben met frequenties die worden uitgezonden via een zendmast. Radio. Televisie. Of telefonie. Wij hebben hier in Friesland ook storing als we op het Princess margrietkanaal bij de brug van spannenbrug zijn. Daar staat ook een zendmast. Probeer eens na te gaan of daar zendmasten in de buurt staan waar je storing hebt gehad. Grtjs en succes.

    Hey 'Singing Captain Caffeine' didn't quite understand why you had to wait until 18.00 for the lock, something about congestion, but I couldn't see another boat anywhere! Also seems a shame you couldn't moor up at what was an empty quay. What would happen if you hadn't enquired and moored there for the night. Do boats getting mooring tickets like cars get parking tickets? So many questions........take a swig of coffee before replying 🤭⚓

    • @felixfeleus510
      @felixfeleus510 Год назад

      There are 2 roadbridges over the lock with very have traffic during rush hour. So they keep the bridges closed during these hours in order not to create massive traffic jams on the streets.
      Nothing would have happened if Henk-Jan had not asked for permission to stay overnight. But as soon as you ask you get this kind of answer.

    • @MVLadyLiselot
      @MVLadyLiselot  Год назад

      Heyyyyy Bobbie!!! As Felix states, many bridges in The Netherlands have a ‘traffic jam avoidance closure’ between 07:00-09:00 and 16:00-18:00. This closure is for Sport/Recreational only. When during these rush hours a commercial barge appears, the bridge does open and when there is a recreational boat waiting for that same bridge, she can join.
      (After a coffee and a famous cookie…:) From what I understand from Dutch reactions on this video is that if I had not contacted the bridge, “no one would have know”. From my own experience a fine is not given for ‘not allowed’ mooring. The water police has better things to do but the ‘inner harbour harbor master patrol boat’ could come by and request/demand me leaving. Perhaps I follow the regulations to much. ;-)

    • @MVLadyLiselot
      @MVLadyLiselot  Год назад

      Hi Per, I think (but do not KNOW) that if you just pass by, we will judge you based on the rules of your country. For me as a Dutchman the rules are: if your boat can faster then 20km/h or is longer then 15m, one must have a boating licence no1. It’s theory only. With that I am allowed to drive a boat mentioned on rivers. If I want to drive a boat as mentioned on the large lakes we have, I must have boating license no2. Having VHF on board (whether you use it or not) requires VHF license.
      I like your question and do not know the legal answer, so let me check at the offices. Perhaps I forget, so please send me an email info@mvladyliselot.nl as reminder

      Hallo John, everybody who speaks native English is allowed to correct me. In the heat of the moment from recording and ‘talking to you’, I do not pronounce the word as the should be. There is this joke of an English sailor calling the German coastguard because he is sinking. “Help me I am sinking,” and the guy from the German coastguard response is “What are you sinking about?”
