      Request to all Men and Women out there fighting for this Barbie movie... Come On, Grow Up and Open your Mind... Can't you see that this movie is filled with another Propoganda from West/Hollywood... It's a Propoganda to get to see a fight between Men and Women, Masculinity Vs. Feminie.. like Masculinity and Feminie Are Not Gender Related... Both Men And Women Have Masculinity and Feminie At Same Time... They just want to divide Men and Women and their friendship/relationship... Some Men and Some Women can sense that in the movie and can't identify the Propoganda and when they try to say anything, they get trolled... The point is they (West/Hollywood/Fake Feminist) want to see, "Men vs. Women Fight"... Not, "Men And Women Fight Together to Solve The Problem"... in the name of, "Patriarchy Vs. Matriarchy"... They showed the Problem like, "Rape", "Abuse", "Slave", "Inequality" Things Men doing to Women in a Patriarchy System... And The Solution is the it's Opposite, "Matriarchy" system... Like, Come on.. Don't you think these problems will stiil be there in Matriarchy system.. It will be Opposite, Women doing to Men... It will be a cycle thing... Patriarchy then Matriarchy then Patriarchy... And Problem will be there... They didn't show how to fight with Men and Women Together... They Just Show That, If Patriarchy Gone and Matriarchy Begins, Then Problems will be solved...But, No... Problems will be there but Gender Role will be Opposite... They should show that both Men and Women Together Fight with the problem... You don't know, that Men also suffer from all these problems in a Patriarchy System.. but the number is less than Women... And again Women will also suffer from all these problems in a Matriarchy System too... Most Kids Are watching this movie and what they will get that, "All Problems Root is All Men".. and they will grow up with this Mindset... So, To Both Men And Women... Don't Get Sucked Into Propoganda and "STOP FIGHTING BETWEEN US AND LET'S BREAK THE CYCLE OF PATRIARCHY VERSUS MATRIARCHY SYSTEM AND LET'S FIGHT ALL THESE PROBLEM TOGETHER"... "Men🤝Women"...

    The Ken's were oppressed and when they wanted to take power, they got greedy and started to oppress the Barbie's the same way. And in the end the Barbie's outsmarted them and took back power and said "We still gonna oppress you, but a little less"

    • @jacobwansleeben
      @jacobwansleeben 8 месяцев назад +1

      The Kens were never 'oppressed' by the Barbies, at least not nearly to the same extent to what the Kens did later on. It was just that one specific Ken felt insecure because his feelings towards Barbie weren't being reciprocated. Later on, when he's exposed to stereotypically 'manly' stuff, he decides to lean into that kind of thing as it would help him feel more secure. However, this then results in oppression of the Barbies; where they literally get brainwashed and treated like servants, something that never did never and does happen to the Kens. The movie makes it clear that the oppression by the Kens is NOT the root problem, it's just a symptom of the problem; that being Ken's insecurity. By the end of the movie, Barbie grows by learning to acknowledge how Ken feels towards her, instead of just ignoring him, while Ken learns to be secure in himself without being oppressive and without needing to receive reciprocation from the Barbie he was interested in. That character arc he goes through is what makes this movie equally as empowering to men as it is to women. As a straight man, that's exactly how I felt.
      Also, I have no idea where you got the idea that the movie said women "shouldn't be too high up in society".

This is not a movie that attempts to hide its messages, but portrays them rather brilliantly, because these messages are important and need to be discussed in the mainstream. Does it have imperfections? Sure. Messaging is not one of them. Conservative women do not dictate feminism, nor good writing. This film could not have been made better than this was though, and I hope enough people see the value in it to realise how great it is. This is not a performative film, I urge you to at least watch it before you render judgement, I promise you’ll have a good time.

      I had a blast watching the movie. But, that having been said, the message of the movie was pretty ham fisted and over the top. It's a good message, it needs to be explored more. But when your message is delivered with, to quote the Joker, "All the subtlety of a napalm enema." you're going to lose some people in the process. I was the only man in a completely full theatre, it was an absolutely awesome time, never once felt uncomfortable. By and large I agree with everything the movie was trying to say. Just maybe next time a movie is written on the topic, it would benefit from showing the nuances instead of telling the nuances, you know?

This is such a clever film, and the entire Mattel part was f*cking hilarious. In parts it inadvertently satirises modern feminism and then accepts the unfounded presuppositions of modern feminism without question.
      I’ve never seen a film that dedicated so much of its runtime to the messaging be so lacking of a coherent message.
      If you watch some of the press interviews Gerwig has done, especially the ones with Robbie, she struggles to produce a logically sound sentence at points because she doesn’t even know what she’s trying to say and Robbie sometimes disagrees, at least in part, with the stuff she comes out with, which isn’t great when the director can’t properly communicate to the lead actress what the film means.

Feminie.. like Masculinity and Feminie Are Not Gender Related... She turns around punches him in the face and Ken just stands there like a useless tool. That just would not happen, No guy just smacks a random woman's butt while she's with her man and the man don't do anything. Yes Barbie turned around and punches the guy in the face... but like if you wanna show a woman's strength while at the same time painting certain men as jerks they're better ways to do so. There is no need to show the worst personality traits of men and at the same time making other men, good men look useless. I took my nephew to see this movie and I also wanna show my nephew that it's a Good Thing to stand up for Women. So when You make Ken look useless in a situation like that it doesn't resignate with men like me. Specially men that's trying to teach Young Boys the right way to treat Women and the right way to stand up for Women, it just doesn't work, At the end of the day if that Really happened it would be a straight up brawl. If i was walking down the street with my lady and a random guy smacks Her butt that dude is Losing the hand he did it with. I'm breaking all his Fingers. That kind of scene just throws me off cause I cant relate to that and then I gotta explain to my nephew that this doesn't happen, It is an extreme portrayal of the worst kind of men and I agree with Jaby, The message was a bit too drilling. we see the trailer of barbie floating down from her house, and i immediately understood why. it's cause girls just float them down like that. but in the movie, helen mirren narrates it to us as it's happening. and she is basically telling us things, which we could just SEE instead. they also show this vague montage of amarica ferrera being sad, but you don't know why and we never get to know why. it's all just telling us instead of showing. the daughter suddenly has a change of heart and we never SEE why. barbie realize all these things but it's only through dialogue. we never see her experience things that would let us us into her experience. i mean even barbie and ken rollerblading she says she feels undertones of violence, but it's just something she says. there is nothing showing us why she would feel that way. i also didn't like how barbie was a dumb blonde - but then also really smart and got to show emotional growth and make really big adult decisions - whilst nothing in kens arc ever showed him as anything more than an upset child. even as he cries in the end it's made for laughs. why does she get to mature and he doesn't?
    it had odd pacing and a lot of jokes didn't land for me.

      The real question is: WHY was that the plot of a movie about a toy doll for little girls? Why wasn't it a simple, positive movie made to appeal to THEM instead of adults?...or whatever passes for adults these days.

      The plot was Stereotypical Barbie noticing changes, trying to find the reason, travelling to the real world, meeting that one depressed lady and realizing Barbie's influence on the world wasn't that great (while Ken realized that there are worlds where men are actually allowed to make decisions and reacting to that bit of information in the worst way possible). That's the plot.
      "Patriarchy = bad" is a message. And just like Ryan points out in his pitch meeting, 99.9 % of the film's viewers completely agree with the message. So why explicitly state it 5+ times? It's poor writing.
      I still mostly liked the film, by the way.

    You just can't get most of the shots in 70mm without abandoning many modern techniques. 70mm cameras are huge and incredibly noisy, you need to either shoot from a long distance or record audio separately (which never comes out well with any reliability). They would have had to either develop all new cameras or completely relearned how to do cinematography. Obviously redeveloping a new camera would have either been extremely expensive or just too bad compared to the old ones. Same with entirety relearning.

      Well, the Kens were treated rather badly, but I interpreted that as irony (also, it's true. There is no body-positive Ken, no president Ken, just "beach" Ken). But yes, I didn't see the movie actually attacking men either. Just the patriarchy, which is a bad system for sure.

    Whatever Jaby said about Oppenheimer movie might be right only for him, not cause it's his criticism, his opinion on the movie, but because he's not talking about the movie even at all. He wishes some aftermath events were shown in the film, so it can be a definitive history lesson to the posterity, and the audience, so technically it's not a criticism to the movie, it's a qualm he has, something like 'wish' that completely boils down to creative choices of a filmmaker. Well, Oppenheimer is not a documentary, it's an Oppenheimer cinema that is utterly surrendered to his character. If you have this script where you're dealing with affairs (Communist accusation, senate, other things - all of which are personal to him) that are in the film outside Oppenheimer, including a snippet of 'fallout on American people' would come off as a liability to the film, and that's not how you can make this 'specific' film work, and extraordinary. I can see the likes of Jaby if that fallout had been included in the film, they would have said 'it's unnecessary, and then accuse of run-time.' In my standpoint, everybody knows about the fallout, it's well-known occurence, meaning including that in film is no needed, therefore there's absolutely no need to show that when my film only catered to the psyche of Oppenheimer. For me, rather than that fallout snippet, I'd prefer the ending of the film which is much more impactful, profound, and daunting that can be 'timeless' regardless of any era, implying the bleak state of distant future, that's what makes films 'classic.'

    • @CinePals
      @CinePals  10 месяцев назад +1

      Perhaps you are very familiar with it. It's not taught as part of our curriculum here. A lot of people are not familiar with it. And it is very much criticism of the film as it's based on real events. The film was very concerned with consequences and often these conversations talk about what we did to Japan. I can't recall a single instance where Hiroshima and Nagasaki was being talked about and an "and also what the tests did to Americans" comes up. If anything, we are WAY MORE familiar with the damage done to Japan.

    • @Jayanth
      @Jayanth 10 месяцев назад

      @@CinePals I mean sure from your stance, it's a fair point, and I understand your criticism. Actually I didn't know about any of that health fallout on American people, until a bunch of people start criticizing about it all over social media, and news channels upon seeing Oppenheimer that it completely brushed off that fact post Trinity Test. I thought, oh I guess that's a big episode, naturally assumed people were upset cause Nolan didn't show that in the film. And now you casually talking about it basically suggests that it's a well-know thing among US, or I don't know I can't speak for you, I could be wrong as you said y'll more aware with what former America did to Japan. But, be that as it may, If I were a filmmaker, I would have done pretty much same thing in my script considering how much I have covered in the film, and other affairs that Oppenheimer had to confront (which I reckon might not be that known to people), so I'd prefer tackling with lesser known things over things that is more known, cause that's the point of my film, 'to show things that you don't know.' Although sure not everyone would be on the same page, and that's how human perspective works, but I'm with Nolan on this. Anyhow, I didn't expect a response from you on this, that's bit surprising to me. I may have constructed my sentences in my previous comment that may come off as bitter, which isn't at all, cause I'm from India, and not native to English. Peace :) ✌️
